| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This controller was introduced on Tegra114 to handle XUSB pads. On Tegra124 it is also used for PCIe and SATA pin muxing and PHY control. Only the Tegra124 PCIe and SATA functionality is currently implemented, with weak symbols on Tegra114. Tegra20 and Tegra30 also provide weak symbols for these functions so that drivers can use the same API irrespective of which SoC they're being built for. Added benefit is that it should <catch 99% of hardware related (i. e. reliably reproducible) memory errors> as well. Thoroughly tested on the various Toradex line of Tegra modules available which unfortunately does not include T114 and T124 (yet at least) plus on the Jetson TK1. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In at least Tegra124, the Tegra memory controller (MC) has a register that controls the memory size. Read this to determine the memory size rather than requiring this to be redundantly encoded into the ODMDATA. This way, changes to the BCT (i.e. MC configuration) automatically updated SW's view of the memory size, without requiring manual changes to the ODMDATA. Future work potentially required: * Clip the memory size to architectural limits; U-Boot probably doesn't and won't support either LPAE or Tegra's "swiss cheese" memory layout, at least one of which would be required for >2GB RAM. * Subtract out any carveout required by firmware on future SoCs. For bootloader, we probably don't care about VPR, so we disable it (which counts as programming it, and allows those display-related registers to be accessed). This saves around 1-3KB for the SPL and around 3-8KB for the main build of U-Boot, depending on the board, which SoC it uses, and how many pinmux table entries there are. In order to pack PMUX_FUNC_* into a smaller space, don't hard-code the values of PMUX_FUNC_RSVD* to values which require 16 bits to store them, but instead let their values be assigned automatically, so they end up fitting into 8 bits. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Much of arch/arm/cpu/tegra*-common/pinmux.c is identical. Remove the duplication by creating pinmux-common.c for all the identical code. This leaves: * arch/arm/include/asm/arch-tegra*/pinmux.h defining only the names of the various pins/pin groups, drive groups, and mux functions. * arch/arm/cpu/tegra*-common/pinmux.c containing only the lookup table stating which pin groups support which mux functions. The code in pinmux-common.c is semantically identical to that in the various original pinmux.c, but had some consistency and cleanup fixes applied during migration. I removed the definition of struct pmux_tri_ctlr, since this is different between SoCs (especially Tegra20 vs all others), and it's much simpler to deal with this via the new REG/MUX_REG/... defines. spl.c, warmboot.c, and warmboot_avp.c needed updates due to this, since they previously hijacked this struct to encode the location of some non-pinmux registers. Now, that code simply calculates these register addresses directly using simple and obvious math. I like this method better irrespective of the pinmux code cleanup anyway. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Based on the Tegra TRM, the system clock (which is the AVP clock) can run up to 275MHz. On power on, the default sytem clock source is set to PLLP_OUT0. In function clock_early_init(), PLLP_OUT0 will be set to 408MHz which is beyond system clock's upper limit. The fix is to set the system clock to CLK_M before initializing PLLP, and then switch back to PLLP_OUT4, which has an appropriate divider configured, after PLLP has been configured Implement this logic in new function tegra30_set_up_pllp(), which sets up PLLP and all PLLP_OUT* dividers, and handles the AVP clock switching. Remove the duplicate PLLP setup from pllx_set_rate() and adjust_pllp_out_freqs(). This makes it hard to determine which pieces of code are affected by changes to those constants. Replace the integer constants with the equivalent macro definitions so that everything is nicely tied together. Note that I'm not convinced all the code was using the correct integer constants, and hence I'm not convinced that all the code is now using the desired macros. However, this change is a purely mechanical replacement and should have no functional change. Fixing any bugs will come later, separately. However, for Tegra30/114, this isn't the case. Rather than forcing each new user with a different SKU to manually add their SKU ID into the code, simply accept any SKU ID. If U-Boot ever starts e.g. programming maximal CPU clocks etc., we'll need to undo this, or make the default case map to conservative defaults, but for now it's likely the path to least support cost. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The non-SPL build of U-Boot on Tegra only runs on a single CPU, and hence there is no need to enable the SCU when running U-Boot. If an SMP OS is booted, and it needs the SCU enabled, it will enable the SCU itself. U-Boot doing so is redundant. The one exception is Tegra20, where an enabled SCU is required for some aspects of PCIe to work correctly. Some Tegra SoCs contain CPUs without a software-controlled SCU. In this case, attempting to turn it on actively causes problems. This is the case for Tegra114. For example, when running Linux, the first (or at least some very early) user-space process will trigger the following kernel message: Unhandled fault: imprecise external abort (0x406) at 0x00000000 This is typically accompanied by that process receving a fatal signal, and exiting. Since this process is usually pid 1, this causes total system boot failure. I wonder whether tegra_get_chip_type() should printf() whenever any unkown chip/SKU is found, although perhaps the function is called so early that the printf() wouldn't actually make it to the UART anyway. | | | | | | | | | | | The move is pretty straight-forward. ap20.h and tegra20.h were renamed to ap.h and tegra.h. Some files remain in arch-tegra20 but 'include' a file in 'arch-tegra' with #defines & structs that will be common between T20 and T30 HW. HW-specific #defines, etc. stay in the 'arch-tegra20' 'root' file. All boards build OK w/MAKEALL -s tegra20. Checkpatch.pl runs clean. Seaboard works OK. * Tegra20: Move some code files to common directories for upcoming Tegra30 ↵Tom Warren2012-10-156-0/+513
patches. Move files that are going to be common between T20 and T30 into 'tegra-common' subdirs in AVP (arm720t), CPU (armv7), and shared (arch/arm/cpu/.) areas. Any files that are left behind in '/tegra20' will be copied to '/tegra30' subdirs and modified for that SoC. The 'common' files should need only minor changes. Include files (arch/arm/include/asm/arch-tegra/tegra20) will be done in a follow-on patch. Builds fine w/MAKEALL -s tegra20. Checkpatch.pl is clean. Signed-off-by: Tom Warren <twarren@nvidia.com>
