* powerpc: remove cogent_8xx, cogent_mpc8260 board supportMasahiro Yamada2015-01-051-61/+0
| | | | | | | These boards are still non-generic boards. Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.m@jp.panasonic.com> Cc: Murray Jensen <Murray.Jensen@csiro.au>
* ppc: Zap Hymod boardMarek Vasut2014-10-271-14/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Remove this board as this is the only one last user of eeprom_probe(), which is pretty non-standard stuff. This patch also removes all the PHP, SQL and CSS stuff from U-Boot, which probably makes U-Boot a bit less IoT ;-) Signed-off-by: Marek Vasut <marex@denx.de> Cc: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.m@jp.panasonic.com> Cc: Tom Rini <trini@ti.com> Cc: Wolfgang Denk <wd@denx.de> Cc: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Cc: Heiko Schocher <hs@denx.de>
* powerpc: mpc8260ads: remove orphan boardMasahiro Yamada2014-05-301-13/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | This board has been orphan for a while. (Emails to its maintainer have been bouncing.) Because MPC82xx family is old enough, nobody would pick up the maintainership on it. Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.m@jp.panasonic.com> Cc: Wolfgang Denx <wd@denx.de>
* powerpc: mpc8260: consolidate CONFIG_MPC8260 and CONFIG_8260Masahiro Yamada2014-03-071-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Before this commit, CONFIG_MPC8260 and CONFIG_8260 were used mixed-up. All boards with mpc8260 cpu defined both of them: - CONFIG_MPC8260 was defined in board config headers and include/common.h - CONFIG_8260 was defined arch/powerpc/cpu/mpc8260/config.mk We do not need to have both of them. This commit keeps only CONFIG_MPC8260. This commit does: - Delete CONFIG_8260 and CONFIG_MPC8260 definition in config headers and include/common.h - Rename CONFIG_8260 to CONFIG_MPC8260 in arch/powerpc/cpu/mpc8260/config.mk. - Rename #ifdef CONFIG_8260 to #ifdef CONFIG_MPC8260 Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.m@jp.panasonic.com> Cc: Wolfgang Denk <wd@denx.de>
* Remove obsolete _LINUX_CONFIG_H macroMasahiro Yamada2014-01-241-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | Commit 643aae1406c93ddc64fcf8c136b47cdffd9c8ccd deleted include/linux/config.h but missed to delete _LINUX_CONFIG_H macro. It is no longer used at all. Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.m@jp.panasonic.com>

* Replace __bss_end__ with __bss_endSimon Glass2013-03-151-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Note this is a tree-wide change affecting multiple architectures. At present we use __bss_start, but mostly __bss_end__. This seems inconsistent and in a number of places __bss_end is used instead. Change to use __bss_end for the BSS end symbol throughout U-Boot. This makes it possible to use the asm-generic/sections.h file on all archs. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
* unify version_stringAndreas Bießmann2011-07-281-8/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | This patch removes the architecture specific implementation of version_string where possible. Some architectures use a special place and therefore we provide U_BOOT_VERSION_STRING definition and a common weak symbol version_string. * Revert "PowerPC: Add support for -msingle-pic-base"Wolfgang Denk2011-04-201-5/+1
| | | | | | | This reverts commit 39768f7715ed637ef02f49fc7de664cc1aaf14b3. Reson: it breaks a number of boards with embedded environment as the code size grows in some places.
* PowerPC: Add support for -msingle-pic-baseJoakim Tjernlund2011-04-111-1/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | -msingle-pic-base is a new gcc option for ppc and it reduces the size of my u-boot with 6-8 KB. While at it, add -fno-jump-tables too to save a few more bytes. -msingle-pic-base will be in gcc 4.6, however backported patches are available at http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=347281 Signed-off-by: Joakim Tjernlund <Joakim.Tjernlund@transmode.se>
* rename _end to __bss_end__Po-Yu Chuang2011-03-271-2/+2
| | | | | | | Currently, _end is used for end of BSS section. We want _end to mean end of u-boot image, so we rename _end to __bss_end__ first. Signed-off-by: Po-Yu Chuang <ratbert@faraday-tech.com>
* PowerPC: Don't destroy fixup table while doing fixupsJoakim Tjernlund2010-11-141-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | The fixup procedure just stored a constant value in the fixup table rather than just adjusting the table. Although that doesn't seem to do any harm, it prevents relocation more that once. Signed-off-by: Joakim Tjernlund <Joakim.Tjernlund@transmode.se>
* Replace CONFIG_SYS_GBL_DATA_SIZE by auto-generated valueWolfgang Denk2010-10-261-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | CONFIG_SYS_GBL_DATA_SIZE has always been just a bad workarond for not being able to use "sizeof(struct global_data)" in assembler files. Recent experience has shown that manual synchronization is not reliable enough. This patch renames CONFIG_SYS_GBL_DATA_SIZE into GENERATED_GBL_DATA_SIZE which gets automatically generated by the asm-offsets tool. In the result, all definitions of this value can be deleted from the board config files. We have to make sure that all files that reference such data include the new <asm-offsets.h> file. No other changes have been done yet, but it is obvious that similar changes / simplifications can be done for other, related macro definitions as well. * powerpc: do not fixup NULL ptrsJoakim Tjernlund2010-10-181-1/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | The fixup routine must not fixup NULL pointers. Problem can be seen by char *testfun(void) __attribute__((weak)); char *(*myfun)(void) = testfun; Then add printf("myfun:%p, &myfun:%p\n", myfun, &myfun); before relocation and after relocation. myfun should be NULL in both cases but it is not. * powerpc: Cleanup BOOTFLAG_* referencesPeter Tyser2010-10-181-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | Now that warm booting is not supported, there isn't a need for the BOOTFLAG_COLD and BOOTFLAG_WARM defines, so remove them. Note that this change makes the board info bd_bootflags field useless. It will always be set to 0, but we leave it around so that we don't break the board info structure that some OSes are expecting to be passed from U-Boot. Signed-off-by: Peter Tyser <ptyser@xes-inc.com>
* powerpc: Remove warm reset entry pointPeter Tyser2010-10-121-15/+3
| | | | | | No boards utilize the warm reset entry point, so remove it. Signed-off-by: Peter Tyser <ptyser@xes-inc.com>
* Move arch/ppc to arch/powerpcStefan Roese2010-04-211-0/+1023
As discussed on the list, move "arch/ppc" to "arch/powerpc" to better match the Linux directory structure. Please note that this patch also changes the "ppc" target in MAKEALL to "powerpc" to match this new infrastructure. But "ppc" is kept as an alias for now, to not break compatibility with scripts using this name.
