* add example for file on VFAT filesystem usageWaldemar Brodkorb2015-02-171-0/+3
| | | | | | | | For example on a raspberry pi the u-boot environment can be saved in a file on the first VFAT partition. This example illustrates how to use it with fw_printenv/fw_setenv. Signed-off-by: Waldemar Brodkorb <wbx@openadk.org>
* fw_env: calculate default number of env sectorsDustin Byford2014-03-121-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The assumed number of environment sectors (always 1) leads to an incorrect top_of_range calculation in fw.env.c when a flash device has an erase block size smaller than the environment data size (number of environment sectors > 1). This change updates the default number of environment sectors to at least cover the size of the environment. Also corrected a false statement about the number of sectors column in fw_env.config. * env: Allow accessing non-mtd devicesLubomir Rintel2013-03-111-0/+3
| | | | | | | In certain cases, memory device is present as flat file or block device (via mmc or mtdblock layer). Do not attempt MTD operations against it. Signed-off-by: Lubomir Rintel <lkundrak@v3.sk>
* fw_env.config: Correct "fw_saveenv" to "fw_setenv".Robert P. J. Day2013-02-191-1/+1
| | | | | | Fix a comment in the fw_env.config file, no functional change. Signed-off-by: Robert P. J. Day <rpjday@crashcourse.ca>
* Add support for dataflash to U-boot environment settings tool.Remy Bohmer2011-04-121-1/+9
| | | | | | | | | | * The sector size for SPI-dataflash (like AT45 flashes) are not always a power-of-2. So, the sector calculations are rewritten such that it works for either power-of-2 as any size sectors. * Make the flash sector size optional in case it is the same value as the environment size. * fw_env: add NAND supportGuennadi Liakhovetski2008-09-091-1/+5
| | | | | | | | Add support for environment in NAND with automatic NOR / NAND recognition, including unaligned environment, bad-block skipping, redundant environment copy. Signed-off-by: Guennadi Liakhovetski <lg@denx.de>
* * Restrict baudrate settings on LWMON to higher speedswdenk2003-01-111-0/+7
when watchdog is on * Update baudrate in bd_info when it gets changed * Add watchdog trigger points while waiting for serial port (so far only 8xx -- needed on LWMON with 100ms watchdog) * Improve command line tool to access the U-Boot's environment (figuration of the utility, using a config file)
