Further, when this error occurs, it TIs with this error's reason code instead of its PLID, so that FSP will balk to the alignment check to failover and use the backup TPM, when possible. * Only unmask source on proc targ passed to unmask function in intrrpChristian Geddes2018-08-012-34/+41
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | There was a bug in the code where if an interrupt was resolved for a source the code to clean up the pending interrupt in the intrrp will unmask the source. This was actually unmasking the source on all processors. This causes odd behavior if there was an outstanding int on that source on one of the other processors. Essentially the intrrp would think that a new interrupt came in but we will already be handling it. The logic breaks down here and we end up getting in a locked state. Fixing this caused issues with Hostboot management of the maskList which kept track of which sources were masked. Instead of managing this list of masked sources hostboot will instead keep track of sources which are not registered to any msg Qs. When new processors are added to the interrupt resource provider after fabric is up, all LSI sources who are not registered to a msg Q will be masked for the new processor. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | -If an attention is detected by PRD during istep 7 for a core/ex/eq the reconfigure loop will restart at istep 7.1 The target will be marked as non functional but since the masking of the FIRs is controlled by the SBE for cores/ex/eq's other attentions could still fire in a later istep. In order to have the fir mask updated for the deconfigured core/ex/eq a full reipl needs to take place so the SBE will see that the target is non-functional and mask attentions for it. -The change in this commit will be to not check for IPL attentions between any of the substeps of istep 7, the effect of this change will force a reipl due to the deconfigured part since the attention will now be detected outside of the istep 7 reboot loop. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In the event that the SBE fails hostboot will attempt to recover it. During runtime hostboot will attempt an HRESET if the SBE is in a failed state. When the SBE performs the HRESET it will save some important information that will persist through the reset. If one side is failing to recover the retry code will attempt to switch sides and do the hreset. If the SBE seeproms have different versions of the SBE code the data that was supposed to persist through the HRESET will be in incorrect places because the version mismatch. Because of this we cannot switch seeprom sides and perform a hreset if the seeproms have different level of the SBE code. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When a TI occurs during ECC corruption, the kernel asserts as part of the error flow, and the assert makes it into the TI area before the ECC error code, which makes it hard to debug the underlying issue. This change introduces the logging of the TI code to the HB TI area as part of the doShutdown path and a mechanism to not overwrite the first logged error code. That way the TI area will always contain the first error code that caused the TI. * Save HRMOR in mbox scratch reg for IPC messagingPrachi Gupta2018-06-261-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In order to know where the IPC message of a given node is, we save off the HRMOR of every node in a hw register. Originally, we were saving this information in the core scratch register. Since, the core scratch registers are wiped off when the cores go into the winkle state, therefore, we were writing to the register after we come out of winkle. But, at that point, we ran into race conditions because other nodes could be ahead and try to access the register on a node that is not exactly out of winkle yet. This fixes the problems by using the mbox scratch register rather than the core scratch register because they are saved off even when the cores go into winkle state. Because the registers are preseved, we can set the value prior to cores coming out of winkle, so, we don't run into the race condition where one node is trying to read a value prior to the other one writing the value. * Ensure hwas state reflects resource recovery actionsAndrew Geissler2018-06-191-0/+19
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Once resource recovery is run to recover hardware resources to allow the system to boot, it will not be run again until the configuration of the hardware changes. An issue with that design is that the HWAS state, deconfiguredByEid, will not be properly updated in situations where resource recovery has already run. This state is used by the gard command line tool to inform the user on the state of their garded hardware. This commit ensure the deconfiguredByEid is properly updated for targets that are guarded, but have been resource recovered to allow system boot.
