| | | | | | | | | | | | The _PRP method is not going to be a part of the ACPI standard. This patch removes its support code introduced by the following commits: 1. ACPICA: Predefined names: Add support for the _PRP method. 2. ACPICA: Update for _PRP predefined name. 3. ACPICA: Add support for _LPD and _PRP methods. 4. ACPICA: Back port of _PRP update. | | | | | | | | | | This reverts commit aae576e5faefa8ba70647efa320d4747b6375f1e. Push and Pop are not portable "enough", and caused problems for some ACPICA customers. * ACPICA: Headers: Deploy #pragma pack (push) and (pop).Bob Moore2014-02-271-0/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Use push and pop to both guarantee that the correct alignment is used, and to restore the alignment to whatever it was before the header was included. It is reported that the #pragma pack(push/pop) directives are not supported by the specific GCCs, but this patch still doesn't affect kernel build as there are already #pragma pack([1]) directives used in the old ACPICA headers, which means there shouldn't be GCCs that are currently used to compile the ACPI kernels do not support #pragma pack() directives. * ACPICA: Add argument typechecking for all predefined ACPI namesBob Moore2013-06-011-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | Fully implements typechecking on all incoming arguments for all predefined names. * ACPICA: Predefine names: Add allowed argument types to master info tableBob Moore2013-04-121-395/+910
| | | | | | | | | | | | This change adds the infrastructure to enable typechecking on incoming arguments for the predefined methods/objects. It does not actually contain the code that will fully utilize this information. Also condenses some duplicate code for the predefined names into a new module, utilities/utpredef.c Signed-off-by: Bob Moore <robert.moore@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Lv Zheng <lv.zheng@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Rafael J. * ACPICA: Update predefined info table for _MLS methodBob Moore2013-01-251-2/+2

* ACPICA: Update predefined info tableLv Zheng2013-01-251-5/+6
| | | | | | | | | | The predefined info table defines return types for specific control methods. This patch updates predefined table as such enhancement has already been done in ACPICA. This patch can also reduce source code differences between Linux and ACPICA. Signed-off-by: Lv Zheng <lv.zheng@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Rafael J. Wysocki <rafael.j.wysocki@intel.com>
* ACPICA: Cleanup updated comments.Lv Zheng2013-01-101-6/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is a cosmetic patch only. Comparison of the resulting binary showed only line number differences. This patch does not affect the generation of the Linux binary. This patch decreases 558 lines of 20121018 divergence.diff. This patch reduces the source code diff between Linux and ACPICA by cleaning the comments that already have been updated in ACPICA. There is no extra indentation done in this patch. Even the empty line deletions and insertions are also splitted into another cleanup patch so that this patch can be easily reviewed, and the binary differences can be held to a lowest level. * ACPICA: Fix indent caused divergences.Lv Zheng2012-11-151-5/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | New version of "indent" program will generate different outputs that will lead to the divergences between the Linux and the ACPICA. This patch fixes such divergences caused by the "indent" program. The version of the "indent" used for this patch is "GNU indent 2.2.11". This patch will not affect the generated vmlinux binary. This will decrease 581 lines of 20120913 divergence.diff. Signed-off-by: Robert Moore <robert.moore@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Lv Zheng <lv.zheng@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Rafael J.
