* [SystemZ] Rework IPM sequence generationUlrich Weigand2018-01-191-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | The SystemZ back-end uses a sequence of IPM followed by arithmetic operations to implement the SETCC primitive. This is currently done early during SelectionDAG. This patch moves generating those sequences to much later in SelectionDAG (during PreprocessISelDAG). This doesn't change much in generated code by itself, but it allows further enhancements that will be checked-in as follow-on commits. llvm-svn: 322987
* [DAG] optimize negation of boolSanjay Patel2016-10-191-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Use mask and negate for legalization of i1 source type with SIGN_EXTEND_INREG. With the mask, this should be no worse than 2 shifts. The mask can be eliminated in some cases, so that should be better than 2 shifts. This change exposed some missing folds related to negation: https://reviews.llvm.org/rL284239 https://reviews.llvm.org/rL284395 There may be others, so please let me know if you see any regressions. * [SystemZ] Improve handling of SETCCRichard Sandiford2013-10-161-16/+14
| | | | | | | | We previously used the default expansion to SELECT_CC, which in turn would expand to "LHI; BRC; LHI". In most cases it's better to use an IPM-based sequence instead. llvm-svn: 192784

* [SystemZ] Optimize sign-extends of vector setccsRichard Sandiford2013-07-121-0/+70
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Normal (sext (setcc ...)) sequences are optimised into (select_cc ..., -1, 0) by DAGCombiner::visitSIGN_EXTEND. However, this is deliberately not done for vectors, and after vector type legalization we have (sext_inreg (setcc ...)) instead. I wondered about trying to extend DAGCombiner to handle this case too, but it seemed to be a loss on some other targets I tried, even those for which SETCC isn't "legal" and SELECT_CC is. llvm-svn: 186149

* [SystemZ] Register compare-and-branch supportRichard Sandiford2013-05-281-0/+89
This patch adds support for the CRJ and CGRJ instructions. Support for the immediate forms will be a separate patch. The architecture has a large number of comparison instructions. I think it's generally better to concentrate on using the "best" comparison instruction first and foremost, then only use something like CRJ if CR really was the natual choice of comparison instruction. The patch therefore opportunistically converts separate CR and BRC instructions into a single CRJ while emitting instructions in ISelLowering. llvm-svn: 182764
