* [PPC] Remove Darwin support from POWER backend.Kit Barton2018-08-281-13/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch issues an error message if Darwin ABI is attempted with the PPC backend. It also cleans up existing test cases, either converting the test to use an alternative triple or removing the test if the coverage is no longer needed. Updated Tests ------------- The majority of test cases were updated to use a different triple that does not include the Darwin ABI. Many tests were also updated to use FileCheck, in place of grep. Deleted Tests ------------- llvm/test/tools/dsymutil/PowerPC/sibling.test was originally added to test specific functionality of dsymutil using an object file created with an old version of llvm-gcc for a Powerbook G4. After a discussion with @JDevlieghere he suggested removing the test. llvm/test/CodeGen/PowerPC/combine_loads_from_build_pair.ll was converted from a PPC test to a SystemZ test, as the behavior is also reproducible there. All other tests that were deleted were specific to the darwin/ppc ABI and no longer necessary. Phabricator Review: https://reviews.llvm.org/D50988 llvm-svn: 340795
* Adding -verify-machineinstrs option to PowerPC testsEhsan Amiri2016-08-031-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | Currently we have a number of tests that fail with -verify-machineinstrs. To detect this cases earlier we add the option to the testcases with the exception of tests that will currently fail with this option. PR 27456 keeps track of this failures. No code review, as discussed with Hal Finkel. llvm-svn: 277624

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | load instruction Essentially the same as the GEP change in r230786. A similar migration script can be used to update test cases, though a few more test case improvements/changes were required this time around: (r229269-r229278) import fileinput import sys import re pat = re.compile(r"((?:=|:|^)\s*load (?:atomic )?(?:volatile )?(.*?))(| addrspace\(\d+\) *)\*($| *(?:%|@|null|undef|blockaddress|getelementptr|addrspacecast|bitcast|inttoptr|\[\[[a-zA-Z]|\{\{).*$)") for line in sys.stdin: sys.stdout.write(re.sub(pat, r"\1, \2\3*\4", line)) Reviewers: rafael, dexonsmith, grosser Differential Revision: http://reviews.llvm.org/D7649 llvm-svn: 230794
* Add back r201608, r201622, r201624 and r201625Rafael Espindola2014-02-191-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | r201608 made llvm corretly handle private globals with MachO. r201622 fixed a bug in it and r201624 and r201625 were changes for using private linkage, assuming that llvm would do the right thing. They all got reverted because r201608 introduced a crash in LTO. This patch includes a fix for that. The issue was that TargetLoweringObjectFile now has to be initialized before we can mangle names of private globals. This is trivially true during the normal codegen pipeline (the asm printer does it), but LTO has to do it manually. llvm-svn: 201700

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The IR @foo = private constant i32 42 is valid, but before this patch we would produce an invalid MachO from it. It was invalid because it would use an L label in a section where the liker needs the labels in order to atomize it. One way of fixing it would be to just reject this IR in the backend, but that would not be very front end friendly. What this patch does is use an 'l' prefix in sections that we know the linker requires symbols for atomizing them. This allows frontends to just use private and not worry about which sections they go to or how the linker handles them. One small issue with this strategy is that now a symbol name depends on the section, which is not available before codegen. This is not a problem in practice. The reason is that it only happens with private linkage, which will be ignored by the non codegen users (llvm-nm and llvm-ar). llvm-svn: 201608

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | additional bug fixes: 1. The bug that everyone hit was a problem in the asmprinter where it would remove $stub but keep the L prefix on a name when emitting the indirect symbol. This is easy to fix by keeping the name of the stub and the name of the symbol in a StringMap instead of just keeping a StringSet and trying to reconstruct it late. 2. There was a problem printing the personality function. The current logic to print out the personality function from the DWARF information is a bit of a cesspool right now that duplicates a bunch of other logic in the asm printer. The short version of it is that it depends on emitting both the L and _ prefix for symbols (at least on darwin) and until I can untangle it, it is best to switch the mangler back to emitting both prefixes. llvm-svn: 75646
* Change the internal interface to makeNameProper to take a bool thatChris Lattner2009-07-141-7/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | indicates whether the label is private or not, instead of taking prefix stuff. One effect of this is that symbols will be generated with *just* the private prefix, instead of both the private prefix *and* the user-label-prefix, but this doesn't matter as long as it is consistent. For example we'll now get "Lfoo" instead of "L_foo". These are just assembler temporary labels anyway, so they never even make it into the .o file. llvm-svn: 75607
