* [LLVM][Alignment] Make functions using log of alignment explicitGuillaume Chatelet2019-09-051-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: This patch renames functions that takes or returns alignment as log2, this patch will help with the transition to llvm::Align. The renaming makes it explicit that we deal with log(alignment) instead of a power of two alignment. A few renames uncovered dubious assignments: - `MirParser`/`MirPrinter` was expecting powers of two but `MachineFunction` and `MachineBasicBlock` were using deal with log2(align). This patch fixes it and updates the documentation. - `MachineBlockPlacement` exposes two flags (`align-all-blocks` and `align-all-nofallthru-blocks`) supposedly interpreted as power of two alignments, internally these values are interpreted as log2(align). This patch updates the documentation, - `MachineFunctionexposes` exposes `align-all-functions` also interpreted as power of two alignment, internally this value is interpreted as log2(align). This patch updates the documentation, Reviewers: lattner, thegameg, courbet Subscribers: dschuff, arsenm, jyknight, dylanmckay, sdardis, nemanjai, jvesely, nhaehnle, javed.absar, hiraditya, kbarton, fedor.sergeev, asb, rbar, johnrusso, simoncook, apazos, sabuasal, niosHD, jrtc27, MaskRay, zzheng, edward-jones, atanasyan, rogfer01, MartinMosbeck, brucehoult, the_o, dexonsmith, PkmX, jocewei, jsji, Jim, s.egerton, llvm-commits, courbet Tags: #llvm Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D65945 llvm-svn: 371045
* [AsmPrinter] Remove hidden flag -print-schedule.Andrea Di Biagio2019-02-041-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch removes hidden codegen flag -print-schedule effectively reverting the logic originally committed as r300311 (https://llvm.org/viewvc/llvm-project?view=revision&revision=300311). Flag -print-schedule was originally introduced by r300311 to address PR32216 (https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32216). That bug was about adding "Better testing of schedule model instruction latencies/throughputs". These days, we can use llvm-mca to test scheduling models. So there is no longer a need for flag -print-schedule in LLVM. The main use case for PR32216 is now addressed by llvm-mca. Flag -print-schedule is mainly used for debugging purposes, and it is only actually used by x86 specific tests. We already have extensive (latency and throughput) tests under "test/tools/llvm-mca" for X86 processor models. That means, most (if not all) existing -print-schedule tests for X86 are redundant. When flag -print-schedule was first added to LLVM, several files had to be modified; a few APIs gained new arguments (see for example method MCAsmStreamer::EmitInstruction), and MCSubtargetInfo/TargetSubtargetInfo gained a couple of getSchedInfoStr() methods. Method getSchedInfoStr() had to originally work for both MCInst and MachineInstr. The original implmentation of getSchedInfoStr() introduced a subtle layering violation (reported as PR37160 and then fixed/worked-around by r330615). In retrospect, that new API could have been designed more optimally. We can always query MCSchedModel to get the latency and throughput. More importantly, the "sched-info" string should not have been generated by the subtarget. Note, r317782 fixed an issue where "print-schedule" didn't work very well in the presence of inline assembly. That commit is also reverted by this change. * Update the file headers across all of the LLVM projects in the monorepoChandler Carruth2019-01-191-4/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | to reflect the new license. We understand that people may be surprised that we're moving the header entirely to discuss the new license. We checked this carefully with the Foundation's lawyer and we believe this is the correct approach. Essentially, all code in the project is now made available by the LLVM project under our new license, so you will see that the license headers include that license only. Some of our contributors have contributed code under our old license, and accordingly, we have retained a copy of our old license notice in the top-level files in each project and repository. llvm-svn: 351636

* [mips][mips64r6] Use JALR for returns instead of JR (which is not available ↵Daniel Sanders2014-07-091-3/+17
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | on MIPS32r6/MIPS64r6) Summary: RET, and RET_MM have been replaced by a pseudo named PseudoReturn. In addition a version with a 64-bit GPR named PseudoReturn64 has been added. Instruction selection for a return matches RetRA, which is expanded post register allocation to PseudoReturn/PseudoReturn64. During MipsAsmPrinter, this PseudoReturn/PseudoReturn64 are emitted as: - (JALR64 $zero, $rs) on MIPS64r6 - (JALR $zero, $rs) on MIPS32r6 - (JR_MM $rs) on microMIPS - (JR $rs) otherwise On MIPS32r6/MIPS64r6, 'jr $rs' is an alias for 'jalr $zero, $rs'. To aid development and review (specifically, to ensure all cases of jr are updated), these aliases are temporarily named 'r6.jr' instead of 'jr'. A follow up patch will change them back to the correct mnemonic. Added (JALR $zero, $rs) to MipsNaClELFStreamer's definition of an indirect jump, and removed it from its definition of a call. Note: I haven't accounted for MIPS64 in MipsNaClELFStreamer since it's doesn't appear to account for any MIPS64-specifics. The return instruction created as part of eh_return expansion is now expanded using expandRetRA() so we use the right return instruction on MIPS32r6/MIPS64r6 ('jalr $zero, $rs'). Also, fixed a misuse of isABI_N64() to detect 64-bit wide registers in expandEhReturn(). * [mips][mips64r6] ll, sc, lld, and scd are re-encoded on MIPS32r6/MIPS64r6.Daniel Sanders2014-06-161-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: The linked-load, store-conditional operations have been re-encoded such that have a 9-bit offset instead of the 16-bit offset they have prior to MIPS32r6/MIPS64r6. While implementing this, I noticed that the atomic load/store pseudos always emit a sign extension using sll and sra. * [mips][mips64r6] b(ge|lt)zal are not available on MIPS32r6/MIPS64r6 and bal ↵Daniel Sanders2014-06-131-0/+1

However, bal (an alias for 'bgezal $zero, $offset') still remains with the same encoding it had prior to MIPS32r6/MIPS64r6. Updated the MipsNaCLELFStreamer, and MipsLongBranch to correctly handle the MIPS32r6/MIPS64r6 BAL instruction in addition to the existing BAL_BR pseudo. No changes were required to the CodeGen test that looks for BAL (test/CodeGen/Mips/longbranch.ll) since the new instruction has the same syntax.
