* wil6210: add SPDX license identifiersLior David2019-10-311-12/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | Change all files to add SPDX license identifiers and remove license text. This is only an administrative change, there is no change in actual license or copyright for any file. Signed-off-by: Lior David <liord@codeaurora.org> Signed-off-by: Maya Erez <merez@codeaurora.org> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org>
* wil6210: add support for multiple sections in brd fileMaya Erez2019-05-031-39/+109
| | | | | | | | | | | | Current board file loading procedure assumes that the board file includes only one section. New board files can include multiple sections. Add the ability to read multiple addresses and max size from FW file and load multiple sections from the board file into those addresses. * wil6210: print error in FW and board files load failuresMaya Erez2019-04-031-1/+5
| | | | | | | | | Add an error print-out in case FW and board files load fails, as such an error is not printed on all failures and user may not understand why the interface up operations didn't succeed. * wil6210: fix min() compilation errorsAlexei Avshalom Lazar2018-07-311-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | With some tool chains compilation fails due to type mismatch of the arguments passed to min(). Use min_t() to solve these compilation errors. * wil6210: support concurrency record in FW fileLior David2018-02-271-4/+48
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | New FW which supports multiple virtual interfaces, reports its allowed interface combinations using a special comment record in the FW file. The format of the interface combinations is similar to the kernel wiphy->iface_combinations. When parsing FW file during module initialization, also parse and validate the concurrency record, and initialize wiphy->n_iface_combinations and wiphy->iface_combinations accordingly. * wil6210: support parsing brd file address from fw fileMaya Erez2018-01-251-9/+158
| | | | | | | | | | | | | In order to allow using the same brd file across different 11ad chips, the address for loading the brd file should be part of the FW file, instead of the brd file. The brd file is expected to include only one section. To allow backward compatibility the driver reads the address from the brd file in case it is not included in the FW file. * wil6210: add block size checks during FW loadLior David2017-12-021-20/+38
| | | | | | | | | | When loading FW from file add block size checks to ensure a corrupted FW file will not cause the driver to write outside the device memory. * wil6210: refresh FW capabilities during interface upLior David2017-12-021-13/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | | FW capabilities are currently retrieved only during module initialization, but userspace can replace the firmware while interface is down, so refresh the FW capabilities when interface is up (after FW is loaded) to ensure driver functionality matches the loaded FW. * wil6210: fix check for sparrow D0 FW fileHamad Kadmany2017-04-131-1/+3
| | | | | | | | | | Driver fails to load FW for sparrow D0 devices in some cases. Fix this by returning correct value from wil_fw_verify_file_exists when D0 FW file is not detected for any reason. * wil6210: support loading dedicated image for sparrow-plus devicesLazar Alexei2017-01-271-1/+20
| | | | | | | | | | | Driver may be used in platforms where some use sparrow cards while other use sparrow-plus cards, where different FW image is needed. Add the capability to load dedicated FW image in case sparrow-plus card is detected and fallback to default image if such does not exist. * wil6210: extract firmware version from file headerLior David2016-08-311-0/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Currently the FW version is taken from the sw_version field of the FW ready event. This version is based on internal version control revision and it is difficult to map to actual FW version. Fix this by using the actual FW version stored in the FW file header record. * wil6210: extract firmware capabilities from FW fileLior David2016-08-311-23/+62
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When driver is loaded, extract a capabilities record from the FW file. This record contains bits indicating which optional features are supported by this FW. The driver can use this information to determine which functionality to support and/or expose to user space. The extraction is done before wiphy structure is registered, because the capabilities can affect information published by the this structure. * wil6210: use inline functions for register accessVladimir Kondratiev2015-08-061-8/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | | Replace macros like "R", "W", "S", "C", defined multiple times, with inline functions "wil_[rwsc]". Use "readl" and "writel" instead of "ioread32" and "iowrite32" since it is granted that memory transactions are used, not port ones like IN/OUT Signed-off-by: Vladimir Kondratiev <qca_vkondrat@qca.qualcomm.com> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@qca.qualcomm.com>
* wil6210: boot loaderVladimir Kondratiev2015-02-271-3/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Introduce boot loader. Instead of the operational firmware, very small boot loader is burned to the on-board flash. Boot loader initializes hardware upon reset, and prepares for low power mode. Boot loader reports MAC address and detects radio chip connected. Driver loads firmware only when bringing up interface. All information required to set up network interface, most important is MAC address, reported by the boot loader The firmware composed of 2 files: - wil6210.fw - firmware itself (compiled code + data) - wil6210.board - board file (various board and radio dependent calibrations and parameters) Signed-off-by: Vladimir Kondratiev <qca_vkondrat@qca.qualcomm.com> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org>
* wil6210: fix warning in pointer arithmeticVladimir Kondratiev2014-12-011-1/+1
| | | | | | | | In some compilation environments, result of pointer arithmetic interpreted as int while in others it is long int. Force conversion to long. Signed-off-by: Vladimir Kondratiev <qca_vkondrat@qca.qualcomm.com> Signed-off-by: John W. Linville <linville@tuxdriver.com>
* wil6210: remove wil_to_pcie_dev()Vladimir Kondratiev2014-12-011-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | There is no need to obtain physical device through wil->pdev->dev path, as it is done by this macro. The same device already stored as wiphy's device, thus wil_to_dev() returns the same device as wil_to_pcie_dev() Remove unnecessary macros, this allows to drop dependency by pci.h in the firmware download code. * wil6210: firmware downloadVladimir Kondratiev2014-09-111-0/+495
Firmware download implemented but is still experimental feature; flag controlling it added, no_fw_load. It is true by default, use no_fw_load=N to activate feature. Reset flows also got some adjustment for the fw download to work Signed-off-by: Vladimir Kondratiev <qca_vkondrat@qca.qualcomm.com> Signed-off-by: John W. Linville <linville@tuxdriver.com>
