* [media] common: move media/common/tuners to media/tunersMauro Carvalho Chehab2012-08-131-4109/+0
| | | | | | | Move the tuners one level up, as the "common" directory will be used by drivers that are shared between more than one driver. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
* [media] tuners: remove dvb_frontend_parameters from set_params()Mauro Carvalho Chehab2011-12-311-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | This is a big patch, yet trivial: now that all tuners use the DVBv5 way to pass parameters (e. g. via fe->dtv_property_cache), the extra parameter can be removed from set_params() call. After this change, very few DVBv3 specific stuff are left at the tuners. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
* [media] mxl5005s: fix: don't discard bandwidth changesMauro Carvalho Chehab2011-12-311-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | There is a bug on mxl5005s logic: when the bandwidth changes, but using the same delivery system, the code discard the set_params() reconfiguration request. This was happening because, in the previous coding, the bandwidth calculus were after the check for delivery system changes. The previous patch changed the logic to estimate the bandwidth to happend together with the changes at the delivery system. So, with a one-statement change, it is possible to make the tuner to reconfigure, in order to adjust to bandwidth changes. this will likely fix issues on countries that use 7MHz/8MHz DVB-T channels. * [media] mxl5005s: use DVBv5 parameters on set_params()Mauro Carvalho Chehab2011-12-311-36/+29
| | | | | | | Instead of using DVBv3 parameters, rely on DVBv5 parameters to set the tuner. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
* [media] mxl5005s: fix compiler warningHans Verkuil2011-09-061-12/+10
| | | | | | | | | | Removed the unused Xtal_Int variable. That made it also possible to remove a related function. However, the code of that function has been preserved in a comment describing an equation. Without that function that comment would have been hard to understand. * V4L/DVB (13331): mxl5005s: provide ability to override QAM gain for HVR-1600Devin Heitmueller2009-12-051-1/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | The HVR-1600 doesn't use the standard mechanism for computing the gain when in QAM mode, instead always forcing it to be 0x02. Provide the ability to override the algorithm on a per-board basis. This change results in an improvement of 0.4-0.6 dB for QAM tuning. This work was sponsored by ONELAN Limited. * V4L/DVB (9638): drivers/media: use ARRAY_SIZEJulia Lawall2008-12-291-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | ARRAY_SIZE is more concise to use when the size of an array is divided by the size of its type or the size of its first element. The semantic patch that makes this change is as follows: (http://www.emn.fr/x-info/coccinelle/) // <smpl> @i@ @@ @depends on i using "paren.iso"@ type T; T[] E; @@ - (sizeof(E)/sizeof(E[...])) + ARRAY_SIZE(E) @depends on i using "paren.iso"@ type T; T[] E; @@ - (sizeof(E)/sizeof(T)) + ARRAY_SIZE(E) // </smpl> Signed-off-by: Julia Lawall <julia@diku.dk> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
* V4L/DVB (9272): mxl5005s: Bug fix stopped DVB-T from working the second time ↵Jose Alberto Reguero2008-10-171-1/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | around. Jose reported: I am using a Avermedia Volar X with af9015 driver(DVB-T). The first time you use the card, first call reconfigure with MXL_QAM, and when tune DVB-T it calls reconfigure with MXL_DVBT. But if you close the frontend and open again, it calls reconfigure with MXL_QAM, but not call reconfigure with MXL_DVBT because state->current_mode don't change (is MXL_DVBT).
