* ipmi: Terminate SEL task via shutdown eventAndrew Jeffery2018-10-092-7/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The IpmiSEL task will become part of the extended image once the IPMI module is split in two. Once split, if we need to handle an early shutdown we cannot be referencing code from HBI in HBB. To that end, ensure we don't instantiate an IpmiSEL via Singleton in an attempt to shutdown its event loop when it hasn't been loaded, let alone started. Instead, have IpmiSEL register itself in the shutdown handler, and shut down the SEL task before IpmiRP. * Correctly handle psu FFDC on OpenPower SystemsChristian Geddes2018-09-271-24/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Prior to this change, there was a switch statement that was saying "if this RC is found in the psu FFDC, then do this recovery action" that is obviously not very easy to maintain because for every error we need to add the proper action. Instead of this, now we will just look if any GARD records were created as part of the error found in the FFDC. If a gard was found , Hostboot will stop trying to recover the SBE and instead enter a reconfig loop to try and IPL w/ the target garded out. Again this only applies to OP system, in the FSP world we will commit the error logs w/ the gard records and then TI telling HWSV they need to look at the SBE Change-Id: I04e03feebf2bbd1eae2d725bee31993062fe7c94 Reviewed-on: http://rchgit01.rchland.ibm.com/gerrit1/66374 Reviewed-by: Matt Derksen <mderkse1@us.ibm.com> Tested-by: Jenkins Server <pfd-jenkins+hostboot@us.ibm.com> Tested-by: Jenkins OP Build CI <op-jenkins+hostboot@us.ibm.com> Tested-by: Jenkins OP HW <op-hw-jenkins+hostboot@us.ibm.com> Tested-by: FSP CI Jenkins <fsp-CI-jenkins+hostboot@us.ibm.com> Reviewed-by: Roland Veloz <rveloz@us.ibm.com> Reviewed-by: Daniel M. * Ignore wakeup failures on checkstopped coresDan Crowell2018-09-191-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | If a core (unit)checkstops, PHYP no longer allows wakeup operations to take place. However, HBRT has generic logic that always does a wakeup before doing any ec/ex/eq scom at runtime. Since PRD needs to do those scoms to analyze the checkstop we have a problem. The change here is for HBRT to handle a new return code from PHYP that indicates this situation. This RC will be treated as a success, thus allowing the subsequent scom operation to pass. * Forcibly clear all previous wakeups when the PM Complex startsDan Crowell2018-09-193-0/+62
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The power management logic was designed with the assumption that the external callers would manage the state machine such that the order of operations is always: load->start->reset->load->start->reset->etc. However, we have discovered edge cases where a reset can happen before the first load or after a previous reset. In either case we will end up with our wakeup counter being off by one and thus never releasing wakeup. The solution is to add logic to the start path that will explicitly clear the counter out completely, regardless of its current value. This will ensure that wakeup is released once the complex is alive. Note that unstitching is required during MPIPL to break the links between sys <-> node because only one node on which hb is running is visible during the boot. * Check capability bit before using wakeup for OPAL in OpenPOWERDan Crowell2018-09-052-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | A recent change switched out special wakeup handling over to use the host interface instead of the internal HWP calls. However, we just discovered that the opal-prd application was not allowing those calls on non-FSP systems. The opal-prd code is being updated, but since that is delivered as part of the Linux distro (not firmware) we need to handle the situation where newer Hostboot is running on top of the older opal-prd. This commit adds a check for a new OPAL-specific capability bit that will ensure we only use the wakeup interface if the opal-prd hosting us supports it. It no longer returns a const * Target, considering 5 times out of 7 of it's usage, users were just staic_cast(ing) away the const. Clear out the HB reset attribute in the mpipl path. * Only unmask source on proc targ passed to unmask function in intrrpChristian Geddes2018-08-012-34/+41
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | There was a bug in the code where if an interrupt was resolved for a source the code to clean up the pending interrupt in the intrrp will unmask the source. This was actually unmasking the source on all processors. This causes odd behavior if there was an outstanding int on that source on one of the other processors. Essentially the intrrp would think that a new interrupt came in but we will already be handling it. The logic breaks down here and we end up getting in a locked state. Fixing this caused issues with Hostboot management of the maskList which kept track of which sources were masked. Instead of managing this list of masked sources hostboot will instead keep track of sources which are not registered to any msg Qs. When new processors are added to the interrupt resource provider after fabric is up, all LSI sources who are not registered to a msg Q will be masked for the new processor. In order to have the fir mask updated for the deconfigured core/ex/eq a full reipl needs to take place so the SBE will see that the target is non-functional and mask attentions for it. -The change in this commit will be to not check for IPL attentions between any of the substeps of istep 7, the effect of this change will force a reipl due to the deconfigured part since the attention will now be detected outside of the istep 7 reboot loop. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In the event that the SBE fails hostboot will attempt to recover it. During runtime hostboot will attempt an HRESET if the SBE is in a failed state. When the SBE performs the HRESET it will save some important information that will persist through the reset. If one side is failing to recover the retry code will attempt to switch sides and do the hreset. If the SBE seeproms have different versions of the SBE code the data that was supposed to persist through the HRESET will be in incorrect places because the version mismatch. Because of this we cannot switch seeprom sides and perform a hreset if the seeproms have different level of the SBE code. * Send errors from previous boots as callhome type eSELsNick Bofferding2018-07-171-6/+18
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | During early boot, Hostboot attempts to resend unacknowledged error logs from prior boots as eSELS, without correponding SELs. BMCs typically require both in order to expose a given error log to a customer. This change morphs errors from prior boots into callhome type logs, so that a simple eSEL will be enough to get the error propagated.
