* ASoC: Intel: bdw-rt5677: fix Kconfig dependenciesPierre-Louis Bossart2020-01-131-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | The existing machine driver depends on SPI Master capabilities, but the Kconfig does not model this dependency and the SPI controller needs to be selected as well. Without this patch the machine driver probe would fail with the spi-RT5677AA:00 component never registered by the ACPI/LPSS subsystem. ERROR: "hdac_hdmi_jack_init" [sound/soc/intel/boards/snd-soc-sof_rt5682.ko] undefined! Fix by selecting SND_SOC_HDAC_HDMI unconditionally. * ASoC: Intel: Boards: Add Maxim98373 supportJenny TC2019-02-261-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | This patch enables the reuse of kbl_da7219_max98927 machine driver to support max98373. The same machine driver is modified for cases where one amplifier is swapped out with another. Most of the changes are about renaming the codec and codec_dai names, with minor differences due to support for 24 bits in one case and 16 in the other. * ASoC: Intel: Skylake: Add more platform granularityPierre-Louis Bossart2018-12-141-2/+14
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The current SKYLAKE kconfig is a all-you-can-eat selection that will support all known plaforms. This is however not necessarily a good thing: most platforms for SKL and KBL don't support the DSP, but a number of CNL/WHL ones do. Selecting this driver in all cases isn't really smart and will require users to muck with blacklists. Partition the configs to allow distributions to select on which platform this driver is used. Keep the existing SND_SOC_INTEL_SKYLAKE config to select everything for backwards compatibility. This patch does not provide new functionality, only finer-grained choices in supported platforms. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The new Dell IoT platform uses kabylake + alc3277 codec, and alc3277 shares the driver with the codec rt5660, here we generate a new machine driver based on kbl_da7219_max98357a. The audio design on this IoT platform is as below: - Intel kabylake platform - connect the codec ALC3277 via SSP0 - line-out and line-in with Micbias jacks - line-out mute control and jack detection of line-out and line-in - two HDMI ports with audio capability Signed-off-by: Hui Wang <hui.wang@canonical.com> Acked-by: Pierre-Louis Bossart <pierre-louis.bossart@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Mark Brown <broonie@kernel.org>
* ASoC: Intel: Skylake: fix Kconfigs, make HDaudio codec optionalPierre-Louis Bossart2018-11-201-10/+14
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The Skylake driver currently has a set of problems supporting load/unload modules. We need to make the HDaudio codec support optional to help narrow down the issues. Support for HDaudio codecs also leads to a Kconfig issue. We want the hdac_hda codec to be compilable independently of Skylake (e.g. with ALL_CODECS) but when Skylake is selected as built-in the hdac_hda codec needs to use the same option due a a code dependency Solve both problems by adding a user-selectable boolean Kconfig, select HDAC_HDA as needed and make the HDaudio codec support in the Skylake driver optional. Tests on a Chell Chromebook device without HDaudio show no regression for speaker and HDMI playback. This is submitted as an RFC to allow for comments and more validation. | | | | | | | | | | | | No reason why SND_SOC_INTEL_SST should be set here. Also make sure same dependencies are used everywhere (only last one has SPI in addition). Replace X86_INTEL_LPSS by MFD_INTEL_LPSS since the former makes no sense for Skylake+ devices Signed-off-by: Pierre-Louis Bossart <pierre-louis.bossart@linux.intel.com> Reviewed-by: Andy Shevchenko <andriy.shevchenko@linux.intel.com> Acked-By: Vinod Koul <vinod.koul@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Mark Brown <broonie@kernel.org>

| | | | | | | | | | | Make sure that the same I2C/I2C_DESIGNWARE_PLATFORM are selected. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | PCI/ACPI selections should not happen in Kconfig for machine drivers, move to SOC selections. Add distinction between PCI and ACPI HiFi2 platforms and help text. There should be no functionality change. The PCI-based platforms may be removed at some point since Medfield is not really supported by anyone, and with Edison now defunct support for Merrifield/Edison is to be determined. The dependency on SND_DMA_SGBUF for Haswell is not clear at this point and may have to be further updated. * ASoC: Intel: Fix Kconfig with top-level selectorPierre-Louis Bossart2018-01-081-42/+52
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Follow network example suggested by Linus, move Intel definitions in if/endif block and clarify in help text which options distro configurations should enable - everything except legacy Baytrail stuff and NOCODEC (test only) To avoid user confusion, machine drivers are handled with a submenu made dependent on this top-level selector. There should be no functionality change - except that sound capabilities are restored when using older configs without any user selection. Note that the SND_SOC_ACPI_INTEL_MATCH config is currently filtered out by the top-level selector. This will change in the near future to allow for this option to be selected by both SST and SOF drivers (simplification with submenu for machine drivers by Vinod Koul) Fixes: f6a118a800e3 ("ASoC: Intel: clarify Kconfig dependencies") Reported-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: Pierre-Louis Bossart <pierre-louis.bossart@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Vinod Koul <vinod.koul@intel.com> Reviewed-by: Andy Shevchenko <andriy.shevchenko@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Mark Brown <broonie@kernel.org>
* ASoC: Intel: improve SND_SOC_INTEL_MACH dependenciesArnd Bergmann2017-11-081-21/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | I ran into a build error with CONFIG_SND_SOC_INTEL_COMMON=m and SND_SOC_INTEL_MACH=y: ERROR: "snd_soc_acpi_intel_broadwell_machines" [sound/soc/intel/common/snd-soc-sst-acpi.ko] undefined! ERROR: "snd_soc_acpi_intel_haswell_machines" [sound/soc/intel/common/snd-soc-sst-acpi.ko] undefined! ERROR: "snd_soc_acpi_intel_cherrytrail_machines" [sound/soc/intel/atom/sst/snd-intel-sst-acpi.ko] undefined! ERROR: "snd_soc_acpi_intel_baytrail_machines" [sound/soc/intel/atom/sst/snd-intel-sst-acpi.ko] undefined! The problem here is that the sound/soc/intel/common/ directory is then entered only for building modules, but the sst-acpi.o never gets built since it depends on a built-in Kconfig symbol. That configuration obviously makes no sense since all options below SND_SOC_INTEL_MACH also depend on something else that in turn depends on CONFIG_SND_SOC_INTEL_COMMON. Adding a SND_SOC_INTEL_SST_TOPLEVEL dependency to SND_SOC_INTEL_MACH solves the build error. I notice we can also consolidate the 'depends on SND_SOC_INTEL_MACH' lines by using an 'if' block to simplify it further and make sure the configuration stays sane. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | As pointed out by Pierre-Louis Bossart, the dependency I added was broader than necessary, only Baytrail and Haswell/Broadwell actually need it, the others don't. At the same time, we have individual entries for the codecs that all have the 'select' statement but now don't need it any more.
