* x86: Change pci option rom area MTRR setting to cacheableBin Meng2015-07-281-0/+2
| | | | | | | Turn on cache on the pci option rom area to improve the performance. Signed-off-by: Bin Meng <bmeng.cn@gmail.com> Acked-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
* x86: Setup fixed range MTRRs for legacy regionsBin Meng2015-07-141-11/+16
| | | | | | | | | We should setup fixed range MTRRs for some legacy regions like VGA RAM and PCI ROM areas as uncacheable. Note FSP may setup these to other cache settings, but we can override this in x86_cpu_init_f(). Signed-off-by: Bin Meng <bmeng.cn@gmail.com> Acked-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
* x86: Add multi-processor initSimon Glass2015-04-301-2/+4
| | | | | | | | | Most modern x86 CPUs include more than one CPU core. The OS normally requires that these 'Application Processors' (APs) be brought up by the boot loader. Add the required support to U-Boot to init additional APs. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Bin Meng <bmeng.cn@gmail.com>

| | | | | | | Add MSR numbers for the fixed MTRRs. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Bin Meng <bmeng.cn@gmail.com>
* x86: Test mtrr support flag before accessing mtrr msrBin Meng2015-01-231-1/+4
| | | | | | | | | | On some x86 processors (like Intel Quark) the MTRR registers are not supported. This is reflected by the CPUID (EAX 01H) result EDX[12]. Accessing the MTRR registers on such processors will cause #GP so we must test the support flag before accessing MTRR MSRs. * x86: Add support for MTRRsSimon Glass2015-01-131-83/+74
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Memory Type Range Registers are used to tell the CPU whether memory is cacheable and if so the cache write mode to use. Clean up the existing header file to follow style, and remove the unneeded code. These can speed up booting so should be supported. Add these to global_data so they can be requested while booting. We will apply the changes during relocation (in a later commit). Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
* x86: Drop RAMTOP KconfigSimon Glass2015-01-131-8/+0
| | | | | | | We don't need this in U-Boot since we calculate it based on available memory. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Bin Meng <bmeng.cn@gmail.com>
* x86: chromebook_link: Implement CAR support (cache as RAM)Simon Glass2014-11-211-0/+121
| | | | | | | | Add support for CAR so that we have memory to use prior to DRAM init. On link there is a total of 128KB of CAR available, although some is used for the memory reference code. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
