* [CodeGen] Always use `printReg` to print registers in both MIR and debugFrancis Visoiu Mistrih2017-11-301-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | output As part of the unification of the debug format and the MIR format, always use `printReg` to print all kinds of registers. Updated the tests using '_' instead of '%noreg' until we decide which one we want to be the default one. Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D40421 llvm-svn: 319445
* [MC] Use .p2align instead of .alignDan Gohman2016-01-261-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | For historic reasons, the behavior of .align differs between targets. Fortunately, there are alternatives, .p2align and .balign, which make the interpretation of the parameter explicit, and which behave consistently across targets. This patch teaches MC to use .p2align instead of .align, so that people reading code for multiple architectures don't have to remember which way each platform does its .align directive. * ARM: remove ARM/Thumb distinction for preferred alignment.Tim Northover2014-10-141-0/+21
Thumb1 has legitimate reasons for preferring 32-bit alignment of types i1/i8/i16, since the 16-bit encoding of "add rD, sp, #imm" requires #imm to be a multiple of 4. However, this is a trade-off betweem code size and RAM usage; the DataLayout string is not the best place to represent it even if desired. So this patch removes the extra Thumb requirements, hopefully making ARM and Thumb completely compatible in this respect. llvm-svn: 219734
