* CMake: Make most target symbols hidden by defaultTom Stellard2020-01-141-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: For builds with LLVM_BUILD_LLVM_DYLIB=ON and BUILD_SHARED_LIBS=OFF this change makes all symbols in the target specific libraries hidden by default. A new macro called LLVM_EXTERNAL_VISIBILITY has been added to mark symbols in these libraries public, which is mainly needed for the definitions of the LLVMInitialize* functions. This patch reduces the number of public symbols in libLLVM.so by about 25%. This should improve load times for the dynamic library and also make abi checker tools, like abidiff require less memory when analyzing libLLVM.so One side-effect of this change is that for builds with LLVM_BUILD_LLVM_DYLIB=ON and LLVM_LINK_LLVM_DYLIB=ON some unittests that access symbols that are no longer public will need to be statically linked. * [MC] Add parameter `Address` to MCInstPrinter::printInstFangrui Song2020-01-062-4/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | printInst prints a branch/call instruction as `b offset` (there are many variants on various targets) instead of `b address`. It is a convention to use address instead of offset in most external symbolizers/disassemblers. This difference makes `llvm-objdump -d` output unsatisfactory. Add `uint64_t Address` to printInst(), so that it can pass the argument to printInstruction(). `raw_ostream &OS` is moved to the last to be consistent with other print* methods. The next step is to pass `Address` to printInstruction() (generated by tablegen from the instruction set description). We can gradually migrate targets to print addresses instead of offsets. In any case, downstream projects which don't know `Address` can pass 0 as the argument. Reviewed By: jhenderson Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D72172

This maps the existing This attribute currently requires a string rather than using the symbol name for a couple of reasons: 1. Avoid confusion with static and dynamic linking which is based on symbol name. Exporting a function from a wasm module using this directive is orthogonal to both static and dynamic linking. 2. * [cmake] Explicitly mark libraries defined in lib/ as "Component Libraries"Tom Stellard2019-11-211-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: Most libraries are defined in the lib/ directory but there are also a few libraries defined in tools/ e.g. libLLVM, libLTO. I'm defining "Component Libraries" as libraries defined in lib/ that may be included in libLLVM.so. Explicitly marking the libraries in lib/ as component libraries allows us to remove some fragile checks that attempt to differentiate between lib/ libraries and tools/ libraires: 1. In tools/llvm-shlib, because llvm_map_components_to_libnames(LIB_NAMES "all") returned a list of all libraries defined in the whole project, there was custom code needed to filter out libraries defined in tools/, none of which should be included in libLLVM.so. This code assumed that any library defined as static was from lib/ and everything else should be excluded. With this change, llvm_map_components_to_libnames(LIB_NAMES, "all") only returns libraries that have been added to the LLVM_COMPONENT_LIBS global cmake property, so this custom filtering logic can be removed. Doing this also fixes the build with BUILD_SHARED_LIBS=ON and LLVM_BUILD_LLVM_DYLIB=ON. 2. There was some code in llvm_add_library that assumed that libraries defined in lib/ would not have LLVM_LINK_COMPONENTS or ARG_LINK_COMPONENTS set. This is only true because libraries defined lib lib/ use LLVMBuild.txt and don't set these values. This code has been fixed now to check if the library has been explicitly marked as a component library, which should now make it easier to remove LLVMBuild at some point in the future. I have tested this patch on Windows, MacOS and Linux with release builds and the following combinations of CMake options: - "" (No options) - -DLLVM_BUILD_LLVM_DYLIB=ON - -DLLVM_LINK_LLVM_DYLIB=ON - -DBUILD_SHARED_LIBS=ON - -DBUILD_SHARED_LIBS=ON -DLLVM_BUILD_LLVM_DYLIB=ON - -DBUILD_SHARED_LIBS=ON -DLLVM_LINK_LLVM_DYLIB=ON Reviewers: beanz, smeenai, compnerd, phosek Reviewed By: beanz Subscribers: wuzish, jholewinski, arsenm, dschuff, jyknight, dylanmckay, sdardis, nemanjai, jvesely, nhaehnle, mgorny, mehdi_amini, sbc100, jgravelle-google, hiraditya, aheejin, fedor.sergeev, asb, rbar, johnrusso, simoncook, apazos, sabuasal, niosHD, jrtc27, MaskRay, zzheng, edward-jones, atanasyan, steven_wu, rogfer01, MartinMosbeck, brucehoult, the_o, dexonsmith, PkmX, jocewei, jsji, dang, Jim, lenary, s.egerton, pzheng, sameer.abuasal, llvm-commits Tags: #llvm Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D70179

* [WebAssembly] Allow multivalue types in block signature operandsThomas Lively2019-10-153-12/+31
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: Renames `ExprType` to the more apt `BlockType` and adds a variant for multivalue blocks. Currently non-void blocks are only generated at the end of functions where the block return type needs to agree with the function return type, and that remains true for multivalue blocks. That invariant means that the actual signature does not need to be stored in the block signature `MachineOperand` because it can be inferred by `WebAssemblyMCInstLower` from the return type of the parent function. `WebAssemblyMCInstLower` continues to lower block signature operands to immediates when possible but lowers multivalue signatures to function type symbols. The AsmParser and Disassembler are updated to handle multivalue block types as well. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | A TYPE_INDEX operand (as used by call_indirect) used to be represented by the InstPrinter as a symbol (e.g. .Ltype_index0@TYPE_INDEX) which was a bit of a mismatch with the WasmObjectWriter which expects an unnamed symbol, to receive the signature from and then turn into a reloc. There was really no good way to round-trip this information. An earlier version of this patch tried to attach the signature information using a .functype, but that ran into trouble when the symbol was re-emitted without a name. Removing the name was a giant hack also. The current version changes the assembly syntax to have an inline signature spec for TYPEINDEX operands that is always unnamed, which is much more elegant both in syntax and in implementation (as now the assembler is able to follow the same path as the regular backend) Reviewers: sbc100, dschuff, aheejin, jgravelle-google, sunfish, tlively Subscribers: arphaman, llvm-commits Tags: #llvm Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D64758 llvm-svn: 367590

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: This adds missing utility methods and copy instruction handling for `exnref` type and also adds tests. `tee` instruction tests are missing because `isTee` is currently only used in ExplicitLocals pass and testing that pass in mir requires serialization of stackified registers in mir files, which is a bit nontrivial because `MachineFunctionInfo` only has info of vreg numbers (which are large integers) but not the mir's register numbers. * [WebAssembly] Merge used feature sets, update atomics linkage policyThomas Lively2019-03-291-3/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: It does not currently make sense to use WebAssembly features in some functions but not others, so this CL adds an IR pass that takes the union of all used feature sets and applies it to each function in the module. This allows us to prevent atomics from being lowered away if some function has opted in to using them. When atomics is not enabled anywhere, we detect whether there exists any atomic operations or thread local storage that would be stripped and disallow linking with objects that contain atomics if and only if atomics or tls are stripped. When atomics is enabled, mark it as used but do not require it of other objects in the link. These changes allow libraries that do not use atomics to be built once and linked into both single-threaded and multithreaded binaries. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This change implements lowering of references global symbols in PIC mode. This change implements lowering of global references in PIC mode using a new @GOT reference type. @GOT references can be used with function or data symbol names combined with the get_global instruction. In this case the linker will insert the wasm global that stores the address of the symbol (either in memory for data symbols or in the wasm table for function symbols). For now I'm continuing to use the R_WASM_GLOBAL_INDEX_LEB relocation type for this type of reference which means that this relocation type can refer to either a global or a function or data symbol. We could choose to introduce specific relocation types for GOT entries in the future. * [WebAssembly] Fix assembler parsing of br_table.Wouter van Oortmerssen2018-12-172-16/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: We use `variable_ops` in the tablegen defs to denote the list of branch targets in `br_table`, but unlike other uses of `variable_ops` (e.g. call) the these branch targets need to actually be encoded in the instruction. The existing tables for `variable_ops` cause not operands to be accepted by the assembly matcher. Following the example of ARM: https://github.com/llvm-mirror/llvm/blob/2cc0a7da876c1d8c32775b0119e1e15aaa759b9e/lib/Target/ARM/ARMInstrInfo.td#L550-L555 we introduce a new operand type to capture this list, and we use the same {} syntax as ARM as well to differentiate them from regular integer operands. Also removed definition and use of TSFlags in tablegen defs, since `br_table` now has a non-variable_ops immediate operand, so the previous logic of only the variable_ops arguments being labels didn't make sense anymore. * [WebAssembly] TargetStreamer cleanup (NFC)Heejin Ahn2018-12-112-42/+29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: - Unify mixed argument names (`Symbol` and `Sym`) to `Sym` - Changed `MCSymbolWasm*` argument of `emit***` functions to `const MCSymbolWasm*`. It seems not very intuitive that emit function in the streamer modifies symbol contents. - Moved empty function bodies to the header - clang-format Reviewers: aardappel, dschuff, sbc100 Subscribers: jgravelle-google, sunfish, llvm-commits Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D55347 llvm-svn: 348816
* [WebAssembly] replaced .param/.result by .functypeWouter van Oortmerssen2018-11-192-78/+34
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: This makes it easier/cleaner to generate a single signature from this directive. Also: - Adds the symbol name, such that we don't depend on the location of this directive anymore. - Actually constructs the signature in the assembler, and make the assembler own it. - Refactor the use of MVT vs ValType in the streamer and assembler to require less conversions overall. - Changed 700 or so tests to use it. * [WebAssembly] Add support for the event sectionHeejin Ahn2018-11-145-9/+49
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: This adds support for the 'event section' specified in the exception handling proposal. (This was named 'exception section' first, but later renamed to 'event section' to take possibilities of other kinds of events into consideration. But currently we only store exception info in this section.) The event section is added between the global section and the export section. This is for ease of validation per request of the V8 team. This patch: - Creates the event symbol type, which is a weak symbol - Makes 'throw' instruction take the event symbol '__cpp_exception' - Adds relocation support for events - Adds WasmObjectWriter / WasmObjectFile (Reader) support - Adds obj2yaml / yaml2obj support - Adds '.eventtype' printing support Reviewers: dschuff, sbc100, aardappel Subscribers: jgravelle-google, sunfish, llvm-commits Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D54096 llvm-svn: 346825

* [WebAssembly] Added a .globaltype directive to .s output.Wouter van Oortmerssen2018-11-022-8/+11
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: Assembly output can use globals like __stack_pointer implicitly, but has no way of indicating the type of such a global, which makes it hard for tools processing it (such as the MC Assembler) to reconstruct this information. The improved assembler directives parsing (in progress in https://reviews.llvm.org/D53842) will make use of this information. Also deleted code for the .import_global directive which was unused. * [WebAssembly] Refactor WasmSignature and use it for MCSymbolWasmDerek Schuff2018-10-032-43/+15
| | | | | | | | | | | | MCContext does not destroy MCSymbols on shutdown. So, rather than putting SmallVectors (which may heap-allocate) inside MCSymbolWasm, use unowned pointer to a WasmSignature instead. The signatures are now owned by the AsmPrinter. Also uses WasmSignature instead of param and result vectors in TargetStreamer, and leaves some TODOs for further simplification.
