PrologEpilogInserter and StackColoring depend on the StackProtector analysis being alive from the point it is run until PEI, which requires that they are all scheduled in the same FunctionPassManager. Inserting a (machine) ModulePass between StackProtector and PEI results in these passes being in separate FunctionPassManagers and the StackProtector is not available for PEI. PEI and StackColoring don't use much information from the StackProtector pass, so transfering the required information to MachineFrameInfo is cleaner than keeping the StackProtector pass around. This commit moves the SSP layout information to MFI instead of keeping it in the pass. This patch set (D37580, D37581, D37582, D37583, D37584, D37585, D37586, D37587) is a first draft of the pagerando implementation described in http://lists.llvm.org/pipermail/llvm-dev/2017-June/113794.html. Previously some targets printed their own message at the start of Select to indicate what they were selecting. For the targets that didn't, it means there was no print of the root node before any custom handling in the target executed. So if the target did something custom and never called SelectNodeCommon, no print would be made. For the targets that did print a message in Select, if they didn't custom handle a node SelectNodeCommon would reprint the root node before walking the isel table. It seems better to just print the message before the call to Select so all targets behave the same. And then remove the root node printing from SelectNodeCommon and just leave a message that says we're starting the table search. There were also some oddities in blank line behavior. Summary: [ls][bh] and [ls][bh]u cannot use sp-relative addresses and must therefore lower frameindex nodes such that there is a copy to a CPU16Regs register. This is now done consistently using a separate addressing mode that does not permit frameindex nodes. As part of this I've had to remove an optimization that reduced the number of instructions needed to work around the lack of sp-relative addresses on [ls][bh] and [ls][bh]u. This optimization used one of the eight CPU16Regs registers as a copy of the stack pointer and it's implementation was the root cause of many of the register vs register class mismatches. lw/sw can use sp-relative addresses but we ought to ensure that we use the correct version of lw/sw internally for things like IAS. This is not currently the case and this change does not fix this. However, this change does clean it up sufficiently well to fix the machine verifier failures. As a result, instructions defined in terms of left_half() and right_half() had the halves reversed. In addition to correcting them, they have been improved to allow shuffles that use the same operand twice or in reverse order. For example, ilvev used to accept masks of the form: <0, n, 2, n+2, 4, n+4, ...> but now accepts: <0, 0, 2, 2, 4, 4, ...> <n, n, n+2, n+2, n+4, n+4, ...> <0, n, 2, n+2, 4, n+4, ...> <n, 0, n+2, 2, n+4, 4, ...> One further improvement is that splati.[bhwd] is now the preferred instruction for splat-like operations. The other special shuffles are no longer used for splats. This lead to the discovery that <0, 0, ...> would not cause splati.[hwd] to be selected and this has also been fixed. This fixes the enc-3des test from the test-suite on Mips64r6 with MSA. It just proves that using these previously unused bits in the encoding of the flag word doesn't break anything. The next patch will make each target preserve the current mapping of everything to Constraint_m for itself while changing the target independent implementation of the hook to return Constraint_Unknown appropriately. Each target will then be adapted in separate patches to use appropriate Constraint_* values. PR22883 was caused the matching operands copying the whole of the operand flags for the matched operand. This included the constraint id which needed to be replaced with the operand number. This has been fixed with a conversion function. Following on from this, matching operands also used the operand number as the constraint id. This has been fixed by looking up the matched operand and taking it from there. llvm-svn: 232165

However, it doesn't seem to be possible to match ldi.[bhwd] in a type-agnostic manner (e.g. to support the widest range of immediates, it should be possible to use ldi.b to load v2i64) using TableGen so ldi.[bhwd] is matched using custom code in MipsSEISelDAGToDAG.cpp This made the majority of the constant splat BUILD_VECTOR lowering redundant. The only transformation remaining for constant splats is when an (up-to) 32-bit constant splat is possible but the value does not fit into a 10-bit signed integer. In this case, the BUILD_VECTOR is transformed into a bitcasted BUILD_VECTOR so that fill.[bhw] can be used to splat the vector from a GPR32 register (which is initialized using the usual lui/addui sequence). There are no additional tests since this is a re-implementation of previous functionality. The change is intended to make it easier to implement some of the upcoming instruction selection patches since they can rely on existing support for BUILD_VECTOR's in the DAGCombiner. compare_float.ll changed slightly because a BITCAST is no longer introduced during legalization. llvm-svn: 191299

I have manually inspected all of these, and fixed the main module include to be the nearest plausible thing I could find. If you own or care about any of these source files, I encourage you to take some time and check that these edits were sensible. I can't have broken anything (I strictly added headers, and reordered them, never removed), but they may not be the headers you'd really like to identify as containing the API being implemented. Many forward declarations and missing includes were added to a header files to allow them to parse cleanly when included first. The main module rule does in fact have its merits. =] llvm-svn: 169131

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Previously mips16 was sharing the pattern addr which is used for mips32 and mips64. This had a number of problems: 1) Storing and loading byte and halfword quantities for mips16 has particular problems due to the primarily non mips16 nature of SP. When we must load/store byte/halfword stack objects in a function, we must create a mips16 alias register for SP. This functionality is tested in stchar.ll. 2) We need to have an FP register under certain conditions (such as dynamically sized alloca). We use mips16 register S0 for this purpose. In this case, we also use this register when accessing frame objects so this issue also affects the complex pattern addr16. This functionality is tested in alloca16.ll. The Mips16InstrInfo.td has been updated to use addr16 instead of addr. The complex pattern C++ function for addr has been copied to addr16 and updated to reflect the above issues. llvm-svn: 166897
