* Apply llvm-prefer-register-over-unsigned from clang-tidy to LLVMDaniel Sanders2019-08-151-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: This clang-tidy check is looking for unsigned integer variables whose initializer starts with an implicit cast from llvm::Register and changes the type of the variable to llvm::Register (dropping the llvm:: where possible). Partial reverts in: X86FrameLowering.cpp - Some functions return unsigned and arguably should be MCRegister X86FixupLEAs.cpp - Some functions return unsigned and arguably should be MCRegister X86FrameLowering.cpp - Some functions return unsigned and arguably should be MCRegister HexagonBitSimplify.cpp - Function takes BitTracker::RegisterRef which appears to be unsigned& MachineVerifier.cpp - Ambiguous operator==() given MCRegister and const Register PPCFastISel.cpp - No Register::operator-=() PeepholeOptimizer.cpp - TargetInstrInfo::optimizeLoadInstr() takes an unsigned& MachineTraceMetrics.cpp - MachineTraceMetrics lacks a suitable constructor Manual fixups in: ARMFastISel.cpp - ARMEmitLoad() now takes a Register& instead of unsigned& HexagonSplitDouble.cpp - Ternary operator was ambiguous between unsigned/Register HexagonConstExtenders.cpp - Has a local class named Register, used llvm::Register instead of Register. PPCFastISel.cpp - PPCEmitLoad() now takes a Register& instead of unsigned& Depends on D65919 Reviewers: arsenm, bogner, craig.topper, RKSimon Reviewed By: arsenm Subscribers: RKSimon, craig.topper, lenary, aemerson, wuzish, jholewinski, MatzeB, qcolombet, dschuff, jyknight, dylanmckay, sdardis, nemanjai, jvesely, wdng, nhaehnle, sbc100, jgravelle-google, kristof.beyls, hiraditya, aheejin, kbarton, fedor.sergeev, javed.absar, asb, rbar, johnrusso, simoncook, apazos, sabuasal, niosHD, jrtc27, MaskRay, zzheng, edward-jones, atanasyan, rogfer01, MartinMosbeck, brucehoult, the_o, tpr, PkmX, jocewei, jsji, Petar.Avramovic, asbirlea, Jim, s.egerton, llvm-commits Tags: #llvm Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D65962 llvm-svn: 369041
* CodeGen: Introduce a class for registersMatt Arsenault2019-06-241-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | Avoids using a plain unsigned for registers throughoug codegen. Doesn't attempt to change every register use, just something a little more than the set needed to build after changing the return type of MachineOperand::getReg(). llvm-svn: 364191

We checked this carefully with the Foundation's lawyer and we believe this is the correct approach. Essentially, all code in the project is now made available by the LLVM project under our new license, so you will see that the license headers include that license only. Some of our contributors have contributed code under our old license, and accordingly, we have retained a copy of our old license notice in the top-level files in each project and repository. llvm-svn: 351636

* [MSP430] Generate EABI-compliant libcallsVadzim Dambrouski2017-05-111-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Updates the MSP430 target to generate EABI-compatible libcall names. As a byproduct, adjusts the hardware multiplier options available in the MSP430 target, adds support for promotion of the ISD::MUL operation for 8-bit integers, and correctly marks R11 as used by call instructions. * Target RegisterInfo: devirtualize TargetFrameLoweringJF Bastien2015-07-101-5/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: The target frame lowering's concrete type is always known in RegisterInfo, yet it's only sometimes devirtualized through a static_cast. This change adds an auto-generated static function <Target>GenRegisterInfo::getFrameLowering(const MachineFunction &MF) which does this devirtualization, and uses this function in all targets which can. This change was suggested by sunfish in D11070 for WebAssembly, I figure that I may as well improve the other targets while I'm here. In a few targets this was already done pretty consistently, but it wasn't done *really* consistently anywhere. * Move all of the header files which are involved in modelling the LLVM IRChandler Carruth2013-01-021-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | into their new header subdirectory: include/llvm/IR. This matches the directory structure of lib, and begins to correct a long standing point of file layout clutter in LLVM. There are still more header files to move here, but I wanted to handle them in separate commits to make tracking what files make sense at each layer easier. The only really questionable files here are the target intrinsic tablegen files. But that's a battle I'd rather not fight today. I've updated both CMake and Makefile build systems (I think, and my tests think, but I may have missed something). I've also re-sorted the includes throughout the project. I'll be committing updates to Clang, DragonEgg, and Polly momentarily. llvm-svn: 171366

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Sooooo many of these had incorrect or strange main module includes. I have manually inspected all of these, and fixed the main module include to be the nearest plausible thing I could find. If you own or care about any of these source files, I encourage you to take some time and check that these edits were sensible. I can't have broken anything (I strictly added headers, and reordered them, never removed), but they may not be the headers you'd really like to identify as containing the API being implemented. Many forward declarations and missing includes were added to a header files to allow them to parse cleanly when included first. The main module rule does in fact have its merits. =] llvm-svn: 169131

So far, we have been able to infer the calling convention from the subtarget alone, but as we add support for multiple calling conventions per target, that no longer works. The goal is to sink the essential target description into MC layer so we can start building MC based tools without needing to link in the entire codegen. First step is to refactor TargetRegisterInfo. * Remove custom allocation order boilerplate that is no longer needed.Jakob Stoklund Olesen2011-06-091-1/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The register allocators automatically filter out reserved registers and place the callee saved registers last in the allocation order, so custom methods are no longer necessary just for that. Some targets still use custom allocation orders: ARM/Thumb: The high registers are removed from GPR in thumb mode. The NEON allocation orders prefer to use non-VFP2 registers first. X86: The GR8 classes omit AH-DH in x86-64 mode to avoid REX trouble. SystemZ: Some of the allocation orders are omitting R12 aliases without explanation. I don't understand this target well enough to fix that. It looks like all the boilerplate could be removed by reserving the right registers. llvm-svn: 132781
