* CMake: Make most target symbols hidden by defaultTom Stellard2020-01-141-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: For builds with LLVM_BUILD_LLVM_DYLIB=ON and BUILD_SHARED_LIBS=OFF this change makes all symbols in the target specific libraries hidden by default. A new macro called LLVM_EXTERNAL_VISIBILITY has been added to mark symbols in these libraries public, which is mainly needed for the definitions of the LLVMInitialize* functions. This patch reduces the number of public symbols in libLLVM.so by about 25%. This should improve load times for the dynamic library and also make abi checker tools, like abidiff require less memory when analyzing libLLVM.so One side-effect of this change is that for builds with LLVM_BUILD_LLVM_DYLIB=ON and LLVM_LINK_LLVM_DYLIB=ON some unittests that access symbols that are no longer public will need to be statically linked. * Apply llvm-prefer-register-over-unsigned from clang-tidy to LLVMDaniel Sanders2019-08-151-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: This clang-tidy check is looking for unsigned integer variables whose initializer starts with an implicit cast from llvm::Register and changes the type of the variable to llvm::Register (dropping the llvm:: where possible). Partial reverts in: X86FrameLowering.cpp - Some functions return unsigned and arguably should be MCRegister X86FixupLEAs.cpp - Some functions return unsigned and arguably should be MCRegister X86FrameLowering.cpp - Some functions return unsigned and arguably should be MCRegister HexagonBitSimplify.cpp - Function takes BitTracker::RegisterRef which appears to be unsigned& MachineVerifier.cpp - Ambiguous operator==() given MCRegister and const Register PPCFastISel.cpp - No Register::operator-=() PeepholeOptimizer.cpp - TargetInstrInfo::optimizeLoadInstr() takes an unsigned& MachineTraceMetrics.cpp - MachineTraceMetrics lacks a suitable constructor Manual fixups in: ARMFastISel.cpp - ARMEmitLoad() now takes a Register& instead of unsigned& HexagonSplitDouble.cpp - Ternary operator was ambiguous between unsigned/Register HexagonConstExtenders.cpp - Has a local class named Register, used llvm::Register instead of Register. PPCFastISel.cpp - PPCEmitLoad() now takes a Register& instead of unsigned& Depends on D65919 Reviewers: arsenm, bogner, craig.topper, RKSimon Reviewed By: arsenm Subscribers: RKSimon, craig.topper, lenary, aemerson, wuzish, jholewinski, MatzeB, qcolombet, dschuff, jyknight, dylanmckay, sdardis, nemanjai, jvesely, wdng, nhaehnle, sbc100, jgravelle-google, kristof.beyls, hiraditya, aheejin, kbarton, fedor.sergeev, javed.absar, asb, rbar, johnrusso, simoncook, apazos, sabuasal, niosHD, jrtc27, MaskRay, zzheng, edward-jones, atanasyan, rogfer01, MartinMosbeck, brucehoult, the_o, tpr, PkmX, jocewei, jsji, Petar.Avramovic, asbirlea, Jim, s.egerton, llvm-commits Tags: #llvm Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D65962 llvm-svn: 369041
* Revert CMake: Make most target symbols hidden by defaultTom Stellard2019-06-111-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This reverts r362990 (git commit 374571301dc8e9bc9fdd1d70f86015de198673bd) This was causing linker warnings on Darwin: ld: warning: direct access in function 'llvm::initializeEvexToVexInstPassPass(llvm::PassRegistry&)' from file '../../lib/libLLVMX86CodeGen.a(X86EvexToVex.cpp.o)' to global weak symbol 'void std::__1::__call_once_proxy<std::__1::tuple<void* (&)(llvm::PassRegistry&), std::__1::reference_wrapper<llvm::PassRegistry>&&> >(void*)' from file '../../lib/libLLVMCore.a(Verifier.cpp.o)' means the weak symbol cannot be overridden at runtime. This was likely caused by different translation units being compiled with different visibility settings. llvm-svn: 363028

* [AVR] Create a TargetInfo header. NFCRichard Trieu2019-05-141-0/+1
| | | | | | | | Move the declarations of getThe<Name>Target() functions into a new header in TargetInfo and make users of these functions include this new header. This fixes a layering problem. llvm-svn: 360721
* [AVR] Move InstPrinter files to MCTargetDesc. NFCRichard Trieu2019-05-111-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | For some targets, there is a circular dependency between InstPrinter and MCTargetDesc. Merging them together will fix this. For the other targets, the merging is to maintain consistency so all targets will have the same structure. llvm-svn: 360493
* [AsmPrinter] refactor to support %c w/ GlobalAddress'Nick Desaulniers2019-04-261-3/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: Targets like ARM, MSP430, PPC, and SystemZ have complex behavior when printing the address of a MachineOperand::MO_GlobalAddress. Move that handling into a new overriden method in each base class. A virtual method was added to the base class for handling the generic case. Refactors a few subclasses to support the target independent %a, %c, and %n. The patch also contains small cleanups for AVRAsmPrinter and SystemZAsmPrinter. It seems that NVPTXTargetLowering is possibly missing some logic to transform GlobalAddressSDNodes for TargetLowering::LowerAsmOperandForConstraint to handle with "i" extended inline assembly asm constraints. * [AsmPrinter] refactor to remove remove AsmVariant. NFCNick Desaulniers2019-04-101-9/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: The InlineAsm::AsmDialect is only required for X86; no architecture makes use of it and as such it gets passed around between arch-specific and general code while being unused for all architectures but X86. Since the AsmDialect is queried from a MachineInstr, which we also pass around, remove the additional AsmDialect parameter and query for it deep in the X86AsmPrinter only when needed/as late as possible. This refactor should help later planned refactors to AsmPrinter, as this difference in the X86AsmPrinter makes it harder to make AsmPrinter more generic. * Update the file headers across all of the LLVM projects in the monorepoChandler Carruth2019-01-191-4/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | to reflect the new license. We understand that people may be surprised that we're moving the header entirely to discuss the new license. We checked this carefully with the Foundation's lawyer and we believe this is the correct approach. Essentially, all code in the project is now made available by the LLVM project under our new license, so you will see that the license headers include that license only. Some of our contributors have contributed code under our old license, and accordingly, we have retained a copy of our old license notice in the top-level files in each project and repository. llvm-svn: 351636
* Fix a bunch more layering of CodeGen headers that are in TargetDavid Blaikie2017-11-171-2/+2

* Sort the remaining #include lines in include/... and lib/....Chandler Carruth2017-06-061-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | I did this a long time ago with a janky python script, but now clang-format has built-in support for this. I fed clang-format every line with a #include and let it re-sort things according to the precise LLVM rules for include ordering baked into clang-format these days. I've reverted a number of files where the results of sorting includes isn't healthy. Either places where we have legacy code relying on particular include ordering (where possible, I'll fix these separately) or where we have particular formatting around #include lines that I didn't want to disturb in this patch. This patch is *entirely* mechanical. If you get merge conflicts or anything, just ignore the changes in this patch and run clang-format over your #include lines in the files. Sorry for any noise here, but it is important to keep these things stable. I was seeing an increasing number of patches with irrelevant re-ordering of #include lines because clang-format was used. This patch at least isolates that churn, makes it easy to skip when resolving conflicts, and gets us to a clean baseline (again). llvm-svn: 304787
* Move size and alignment information of regclass to TargetRegisterInfoKrzysztof Parzyszek2017-04-241-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | 1. RegisterClass::getSize() is split into two functions: - TargetRegisterInfo::getRegSizeInBits(const TargetRegisterClass &RC) const; - TargetRegisterInfo::getSpillSize(const TargetRegisterClass &RC) const; 2. RegisterClass::getAlignment() is replaced by: - TargetRegisterInfo::getSpillAlignment(const TargetRegisterClass &RC) const; This will allow making those values depend on subtarget features in the future.
