* Sink all InitializePasses.h includesReid Kleckner2019-11-131-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This file lists every pass in LLVM, and is included by Pass.h, which is very popular. Every time we add, remove, or rename a pass in LLVM, it caused lots of recompilation. I found this fact by looking at this table, which is sorted by the number of times a file was changed over the last 100,000 git commits multiplied by the number of object files that depend on it in the current checkout: recompiles touches affected_files header 342380 95 3604 llvm/include/llvm/ADT/STLExtras.h 314730 234 1345 llvm/include/llvm/InitializePasses.h 307036 118 2602 llvm/include/llvm/ADT/APInt.h 213049 59 3611 llvm/include/llvm/Support/MathExtras.h 170422 47 3626 llvm/include/llvm/Support/Compiler.h 162225 45 3605 llvm/include/llvm/ADT/Optional.h 158319 63 2513 llvm/include/llvm/ADT/Triple.h 140322 39 3598 llvm/include/llvm/ADT/StringRef.h 137647 59 2333 llvm/include/llvm/Support/Error.h 131619 73 1803 llvm/include/llvm/Support/FileSystem.h Before this change, touching InitializePasses.h would cause 1345 files to recompile. After this change, touching it only causes 550 compiles in an incremental rebuild. Reviewers: bkramer, asbirlea, bollu, jdoerfert Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D70211
* [aarch64] Apply llvm-prefer-register-over-unsigned from clang-tidy to LLVMDaniel Sanders2019-08-121-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: This clang-tidy check is looking for unsigned integer variables whose initializer starts with an implicit cast from llvm::Register and changes the type of the variable to llvm::Register (dropping the llvm:: where possible). Manual fixups in: AArch64InstrInfo.cpp - genFusedMultiply() now takes a Register* instead of unsigned* AArch64LoadStoreOptimizer.cpp - Ternary operator was ambiguous between Register/MCRegister. * CodeGen: Introduce a class for registersMatt Arsenault2019-06-241-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | Avoids using a plain unsigned for registers throughoug codegen. Doesn't attempt to change every register use, just something a little more than the set needed to build after changing the return type of MachineOperand::getReg(). llvm-svn: 364191

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | to reflect the new license. We understand that people may be surprised that we're moving the header entirely to discuss the new license. We checked this carefully with the Foundation's lawyer and we believe this is the correct approach. Essentially, all code in the project is now made available by the LLVM project under our new license, so you will see that the license headers include that license only. Some of our contributors have contributed code under our old license, and accordingly, we have retained a copy of our old license notice in the top-level files in each project and repository. llvm-svn: 351636
* Rename DEBUG macro to LLVM_DEBUG.Nicola Zaghen2018-05-141-7/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The DEBUG() macro is very generic so it might clash with other projects. The renaming was done as follows: - git grep -l 'DEBUG' | xargs sed -i 's/\bDEBUG\s\?(/LLVM_DEBUG(/g' - git diff -U0 master | ../clang/tools/clang-format/clang-format-diff.py -i -p1 -style LLVM - Manual change to APInt - Manually chage DOCS as regex doesn't match it. In the transition period the DEBUG() macro is still present and aliased to the LLVM_DEBUG() one. Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D43624 llvm-svn: 332240
* [AArch64][Falkor] Fix bug in Falkor HWPF collision avoidance pass.Geoff Berry2018-04-101-0/+18
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: When inserting MOVs to avoid Falkor HWPF collisions, the non-base register operand of load instructions (e.g. a register offset) was not being considered live, so it could potentially have been used as a scratch register, clobbering the actual offset value. * [CodeGen] Rename functions PrintReg* to printReg*Francis Visoiu Mistrih2017-11-281-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | LLVM Coding Standards: Function names should be verb phrases (as they represent actions), and command-like function should be imperative. The name should be camel case, and start with a lower case letter (e.g. openFile() or isFoo()). Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D40416 llvm-svn: 319168
* Fix a bunch more layering of CodeGen headers that are in TargetDavid Blaikie2017-11-171-1/+1
| | | | | | | | All these headers already depend on CodeGen headers so moving them into CodeGen fixes the layering (since CodeGen depends on Target, not the other way around). llvm-svn: 318490

* [AArch64][Falkor] Fix correctness bug in falkor prefetcher fix pass and ↵Geoff Berry2017-09-261-49/+52
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | correct some opcode tag computations. Summary: This addresses a correctness bug for LD[1234]*_POST opcodes that have the prefetcher fix applied to them: the base register was not being written back from the temp after being incremented, so it would appear to never be incremented. Also, fix some opcode tag computations based on some updated HW details to get better tag avoidance and thus better prefetcher performance. * [LoopDataPrefetch][AArch64FalkorHWPFFix] Preserve ScalarEvolutionGeoff Berry2017-08-161-3/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: Mark LoopDataPrefetch and AArch64FalkorHWPFFix passes as preserving ScalarEvolution since they do not alter loop structure and should not alter any SCEV values (though LoopDataPrefetch may introduce new instructions that won't have cached SCEV values yet). This can result in slight code differences, mainly w.r.t. nsw/nuw flags on SCEVs, since these are computed somewhat lazily when a zext/sext instruction is encountered. As a result, passes after the modified passes may see SCEVs with more nsw/nuw flags present. * [AArch64][Falkor] Avoid HW prefetcher tag collisions (step 1)Geoff Berry2017-07-141-0/+147
Summary: This patch is the first step in reducing HW prefetcher instruction tag collisions in inner loops for Falkor. It adds a pass that annotates IR loads with metadata to indicate that they are known to be strided loads, and adds a target lowering hook that translates this metadata to a target-specific MachineMemOperand flag. A follow on change will use this MachineMemOperand flag to re-write instructions to reduce tag collisions.
