* Update compiler extension integration into the build systemserge-sans-paille2020-06-171-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | The approach here is to create a new (empty) component, `Extensions', where all statically compiled extensions dynamically register their dependencies. That way we're more natively compatible with LLVMBuild and llvm-config. Fixes: https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44870 Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D78192 (cherry picked from commit 8f766e382b77eef3102798b49e087d1e4804b984)

We checked this carefully with the Foundation's lawyer and we believe this is the correct approach. Essentially, all code in the project is now made available by the LLVM project under our new license, so you will see that the license headers include that license only. Some of our contributors have contributed code under our old license, and accordingly, we have retained a copy of our old license notice in the top-level files in each project and repository. llvm-svn: 351636

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: Since the class is used by both MCJIT and LTO, it makes more sense to move it to Support lib. * [InstCombine] Introducing Aggressive Instruction Combine pass ↵Amjad Aboud2018-01-241-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | (-aggressive-instcombine). Combine expression patterns to form expressions with fewer, simple instructions. This pass does not modify the CFG. For example, this pass reduce width of expressions post-dominated by TruncInst into smaller width when applicable. It differs from instcombine pass in that it contains pattern optimization that requires higher complexity than the O(1), thus, it should run fewer times than instcombine pass. * Restore "Resolution-based LTO API."Teresa Johnson2016-08-111-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This restores commit r278330, with fixes for a few bot failures: - Fix a late change I had made to the save temps output file that I missed due to existing files sitting on my disk - Fix a bunch of Windows bot failures with "ambiguous call to overloaded function" due to confusion between llvm::make_unique vs std::make_unique (preface the new make_unique calls with "llvm::") - Attempt to fix a modules bot failure by adding a missing include to LTO/Config.h. Original change: Resolution-based LTO API. Summary: This introduces a resolution-based LTO API. The main advantage of this API over existing APIs is that it allows the linker to supply a resolution for each symbol in each object, rather than the combined object as a whole. This will become increasingly important for use cases such as ThinLTO which require us to process symbol resolutions in a more complicated way than just adjusting linkage. Patch by Peter Collingbourne. | | | | | | | | | | This reverts commit r278330. I made a change to the save temps output that is causing issues with the bots. Didn't realize this because I had older output files sitting on disk in my test output directory. llvm-svn: 278331

* libLTO: add a ThinLTOCodeGenerator on the model of LTOCodeGenerator.Mehdi Amini2016-03-091-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is intended to provide a parallel (threaded) ThinLTO scheme for linker plugin use through the libLTO C API. The intent of this patch is to provide a first implementation as a proof-of-concept and allows linker to start supporting ThinLTO by definiing the libLTO C API. Some part of the libLTO API are left unimplemented yet. Following patches will add support for these. The current implementation can link all clang/llvm binaries. * [PM/AA] Remove the last relics of the separate IPA library from LLVM,Chandler Carruth2015-08-181-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | folding the code into the main Analysis library. There already wasn't much of a distinction between Analysis and IPA. A number of the passes in Analysis are actually IPA passes, and there doesn't seem to be any advantage to separating them. Moreover, it makes it hard to have interactions between analyses that are both local and interprocedural. In trying to make the Alias Analysis infrastructure work with the new pass manager, it becomes particularly awkward to navigate this split. I've tried to find all the places where we referenced this, but I may have missed some. I have also adjusted the C API to continue to be equivalently functional after this change.
