* 3c59x: remove __dev* attributesBill Pemberton2012-12-031-8/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | | CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As result the __dev* markings will be going away. Remove use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, __devinitconst, and __devexit. |\ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Conflicts: drivers/net/ethernet/broadcom/bnx2x/bnx2x_stats.c Small minor conflict in bnx2x, wherein one commit changed how statistics were stored in software, and another commit fixed endianness bugs wrt. reading the values provided by the chip in memory. | * 3c59x: shorten timer period for slave devicesEric Dumazet2012-02-141-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Jean Delvare reported bonding on top of 3c59x adapters was not detecting network cable removal fast enough. 3c59x indeed uses a 60 seconds timer to check link status if carrier is on, and 5 seconds if carrier is off. This patch reduces timer period to 5 seconds if device is a bonding slave. * | netdev: ethernet dev_alloc_skb to netdev_alloc_skbPradeep A Dalvi2012-02-061-2/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Replaced deprecating dev_alloc_skb with netdev_alloc_skb in drivers/net/ethernet - Removed extra skb->dev = dev after netdev_alloc_skb Signed-off-by: Pradeep A Dalvi <netdev@pradeepdalvi.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* | drivers/net: Remove alloc_etherdev error messagesJoe Perches2012-01-311-3/+2
|/ | | | | | | | alloc_etherdev has a generic OOM/unable to alloc message. Remove the duplicative messages after alloc_etherdev calls. Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* sweep the floors and convert some .get_drvinfo routines to strlcpyRick Jones2011-11-081-5/+7
| | | | | | | | | | Per the mention made by Ben Hutchings that strlcpy is now the preferred string copy routine for a .get_drvinfo routine, do a bit of floor sweeping and convert some of the as-yet unconverted ethernet drivers to it. * net: add skb frag size accessorsEric Dumazet2011-10-191-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | To ease skb->truesize sanitization, its better to be able to localize all references to skb frags size. Define accessors : skb_frag_size() to fetch frag size, and skb_frag_size_{set|add|sub}() to manipulate it. Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <eric.dumazet@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. * 3c*/acenic/typhoon: Move 3Com Ethernet driversJeff Kirsher2011-08-101-0/+3326
Moves the 3Com drivers into drivers/net/ethernet/3com/ and the necessary Kconfig and Makefile changes. Did not move the following drivers becuase they use a non-3Com chipset: 3c503, 3c505, 3c507, 3c523 and 3c527 CC: Steffen Klassert <klassert@mathematik.tu-chemnitz.de> CC: David Dillow <dave@thedillows.org> CC: Jes Sorensen <jes@trained-monkey.org> CC: Alan Cox <alan@linux.intel.com> CC: David Hinds <dahinds@users.sourceforge.net> Signed-off-by: Jeff Kirsher <jeffrey.t.kirsher@intel.com> Acked-by: David Dillow <dave@thedillows.org>
