Just add the PCI ID for the STX II. It appears to work the same as the
STX, except for the addition of the not-yet-supported daughterboard.

Original patch fixed the original problem, but the sound was far too low
for most users. This patch references a compare matrix to allow the
volume levels to act normally. I personally tested this patch myself,
and volume levels returned to normal. Please see this discussion for

Dell XPS 15 (1028:05fe) gives the bad feedback noise from analog
loopback line even if the channels are muted. The similar problem has
been seen on XPS 13, and it was fixed by simply disabling loopback.
The same fixup was confirmed to be applicable and fix the problem on
XPS 15, too.

The Gigabyte BRIX BXBT-2707 is a mini-PC with Realtek ALC283 HDA,
exposing a single headset jack.
However, the default pin config information only suggests
that one pin is connected: a HP out jack (pin 0x21, default
config 0x04211010).
The microphone input is behind pin 0x19, which has default
config 0x411111f0 (i.e. unused), so it does not show up in
userspace, and no microphone input is possible via the headset.
Override the pin config so that the headset mic can be used.

For controlling the new fields more strictly, add sw_params.proto
field indicating the protocol version of the user-space. User-space
should fill the SNDRV_PCM_VERSION value it's built with, then kernel
can know whether the new fields should be evaluated or not.
And now tstamp_type field is evaluated only when the valid value is
set there. This avoids the wrong override of tstamp_type to zero,
which is SNDRV_PCM_TSTAMP_TYPE_GETTIMEOFDAY.

I previously added an integer overflow check here but looking at it now,
it's still buggy.
The bug happens in snd_compr_allocate_buffer(). We multiply
".fragments" and ".fragment_size" and that doesn't overflow but then we
save it in an unsigned int so it truncates the high bits away and we
allocate a smaller than expected size.

For applications which need to synchronise with external timebases such
as broadcast TV applications the kernel monotonic time is not optimal as
it includes adjustments from NTP and so may still include discontinuities
due to that. A raw monotonic time which does not include any adjustments
is available in the kernel from getrawmonotonic() so provide userspace with
a new timestamp type SNDRV_PCM_TSTAMP_TYPE_MONOTONIC_RAW which provides
timestamps based on this as an option.

The common early_init_dt_add_memory_arch takes the base and size
of a memory region as u64 types. The function never checks if
the base and size can actually fit in a phys_addr_t which may
be smaller than 64-bits. This may result in incorrect memory
being passed to memblock_add if the memory falls outside the
range of phys_addr_t. Add range checks for the base and size if
phys_addr_t is smaller than u64.

Even though the virtio-scsi spec guarantees that all requests related
to the TMF will have been completed by the time the TMF itself completes,
the request queue's callback might not have run yet. This causes requests
to be completed more than once, and as a result triggers a variety of

Its due to the fact that we call a potentially sleeping function from the bnx2fc
rcv path with preemption disabled (via the get_cpu call embedded in the per-cpu
variable stats lookup in bnx2fc_l2_rcv_thread.
Easy enough fix, we can just move the stats collection later in the function
where we are sure we won't preempt or sleep. This also allows us to not have to
enable pre-emption when doing a per-cpu lookup, since we're certain not to get
rescheduled.

In case of of error, the bnx2fc_cmd_mgr_alloc() function will call

The problem is that in one case the latter may try to scan

Commit 8846bab180fa introduced a helper that can be used to query the
wire transfer size for a SCSI command taking protection information into
account.
However, some commands do not have a 1:1 mapping between the block range
they work on and the payload size (discard, write same). After the
scatterlist has been set up these requests use __data_len to store the
number of bytes to report completion on. This means that callers of
scsi_transfer_length() would get the wrong byte count for these types of
requests.
To overcome this we make scsi_transfer_length() use the scatterlist
length in the scsi_data_buffer as basis for the wire transfer
calculation instead of __data_len.

After scsi_try_to_abort_cmd returns, the eh_abort_handler may have
already found that the command has completed in the device, causing
the host_byte to be nonzero (e.g. it could be DID_ABORT). When
this happens, ORing DID_TIME_OUT into the host byte will corrupt
the result field and initiate an unwanted command retry.
Fix this by using set_host_byte instead, following the model of
commit 2082ebc45af9c9c648383b8cde0dc1948eadbf31.
