When initialising an event, perf_init_event will call try_module_get() to
ensure that the PMU's module cannot be removed for the lifetime of the
event, with __free_event() dropping the reference when the event is
finally destroyed. If something fails after the event has been
initialised, but before the event is installed, perf_event_alloc will
drop the reference on the module.
However, if we fail to initialise an event for some reason (e.g. we ask
an uncore PMU to perform sampling, and it refuses to initialise the
event), we do not drop the refcount. If we try to open such a bogus
event without a precise IDR type, we will loop over each PMU in the pmus
list, incrementing each of their refcounts without decrementing them.
This patch adds a module_put when pmu->event_init(event) fails, ensuring
that the refcounts are balanced in failure cases. As the innards of the
precise and search based initialisation look very similar, this logic is
hoisted out into a new helper function. While the early return for the
failed try_module_get is removed from the search case, this is handled
by the remaining return when ret is not -ENOENT.

Currently we flag available data (via poll syscall) on perf fd with
POLL_IN macro, which is normally used for SIGIO interface.
We've been lucky, because POLLIN (0x1) is subset of POLL_IN (0x20001)
and sys_poll (do_pollfd function) cut the extra bit out (0x20000).

So what I suspect; but I'm in zombie mode today it seems; is that while
I initially thought that it was impossible for ctx to change when
refcount dropped to 0, I now suspect its possible.
Note that until perf_remove_from_context() the event is still active and
visible on the lists. So a concurrent sys_perf_event_open() from another
task into this task can race.

I think the below should cure this; if we install a group leader it
will iterate the (still intact) group list and find its siblings and
try and install those too -- even though those still have the old
event->ctx -- in the new ctx.
Upon installing the first group sibling we'd try and schedule out the
group and trigger the above warn.
Fix this by installing the group leader last, installing siblings
would have no effect, they're not reachable through the group lists
and therefore we don't schedule them.
Also delay resetting the state until we're absolutely sure the events
are quiescent.

There have been a few reported issues wrt. the lack of locking around
changing event->ctx. This patch tries to address those.
It avoids the whole rwsem thing; and while it appears to work, please
give it some thought in review.
What I did fail at is sensible runtime checks on the use of
event->ctx, the RCU use makes it very hard.

As of commit 9a1091ef0017c40a ("irqchip: gic: Support hierarchy irq
domain."), the Lager legacy board support is known to be broken.
The IRQ numbers of the GIC are now virtual, and no longer match the
hardcoded hardware IRQ numbers in the legacy platform board code.
To fix this issue specific to non-multiplatform r8a7790 and Lager:
1) Instantiate the GIC from platform board code and also
2) Skip over the DT arch timer as well as
3) Force delay setup based on DT CPU frequency
With these 3 fixes in place interrupts on Lager are now unbroken.
Partially based on legacy GIC fix by Geert Uytterhoeven, thanks to
him for the initial work.

Commit 4bb25789ed28228a ("arm: dma-mapping: plumb our iommu mapping ops
into arch_setup_dma_ops") moved the setting of the DMA operations from
arm_iommu_attach_device() to arch_setup_dma_ops() where the DMA
operations to be used are selected based on whether the device is
connected to an IOMMU. However, the IOMMU detection scheme requires the
IOMMU driver to be ported to the new IOMMU of_xlate API. As no driver
has been ported yet, this effectively breaks all IOMMU ARM users that
depend on the IOMMU being handled transparently by the DMA mapping API.
Fix this by restoring the setting of DMA IOMMU ops in
arm_iommu_attach_device() and splitting the rest of the function into a
new internal __arm_iommu_attach_device() function, called by
arch_setup_dma_ops().

Since commit f2c3c67f00 (merge commit that adds commit "ARM: mvebu:
completely disable hardware I/O coherency"), we disable I/O coherency
on Armada EBU platforms.
However, we continue to initialize the coherency fabric, because this
coherency fabric is needed on Armada XP for inter-CPU
coherency. Unfortunately, due to this, we also continued to execute
the coherency fabric initialization code for Armada 375/38x, which
switched the PL310 into I/O coherent mode. This has the effect of
disabling the outer cache sync operation: this is needed when I/O
coherency is enabled to work around a PCIe/L2 deadlock. But obviously,
when I/O coherency is disabled, having the outer cache sync operation
is crucial.
Therefore, this commit fixes the armada_375_380_coherency_init() so
that the PL310 is switched to I/O coherent mode only if I/O coherency
is enabled.
Without this fix, all devices using DMA are broken on Armada 375/38x.

A few minor fixes for the 3.19 kernel:
- The 8250 uart driver now respects the aliases, which pointed out that we
were using them wrong. Fixed them.

tearing, and rendered it pretty much useless. Added a new simplefb node
with another pipeline that removes this issue. Note that we need to keep
the old node because u-boot 2015.01 uses it.

Commit f77d55a3b56a ("serial: 8250_dw: get index of serial line from DT
aliases") made the serial driver now use the serial aliases to get the tty
number, pointing out that our aliases have been wrong all along.
Remove them from the DTSI and add custom ones in the relevant boards.

Testing has shown that on sun4i the display backend engine does not have
deep enough fifo-s causing flickering / tearing in full-hd mode due to
fifo underruns. This can be avoided by letting the display frontend engine
do the dma from memory, and then letting it feed the data directly into
the backend unmodified, as the frontend does have deep enough fifo-s.
Note since u-boot-v2015.01 has been released using the de_be0-lcd0-hdmi
pipeline on sun4i, we need to keep that one around too (unfortunately).

The Ippo q8h has its serial console connected to the r-uart. Adjust the
serial0 alias to match.
This fixes the kernel serial console no longer working since 3.19-rc1, because
8250_dw.c now honors dt aliases, causing the serial console to be ttyS5 rather
then being ttyS0, as it was in 3.18 and before.
Note that adjusting bootargs instead is not an acceptable fix, because
console=ttyS0,115200 is used by a lot of bootscripts, etc. and this should
continue to work.

usbphy0 support in the sunxi usb-phy driver has been merged, but the
dtsi's for sun4i/sun5i haven't been updated. This results in the phy
driver failing to load, breaking usb support.

Commit 8eb23b9f35aa ("sched: Debug nested sleeps") added code to report
on nested sleep conditions, which we generally want to avoid because the
inner sleeping operation can re-set the thread state to TASK_RUNNING,
but that will then cause the outer sleep loop not actually sleep when it
calls schedule.
However, that's actually valid traditional behavior, with the inner
sleep being some fairly rare case (like taking a sleeping lock that
normally doesn't actually need to sleep).
And the debug code would actually change the state of the task to
TASK_RUNNING internally, which makes that kind of traditional and
working code not work at all, because now the nested sleep doesn't just
sometimes cause the outer one to not block, but will cause it to happen
every time.
In particular, it will cause the cardbus kernel daemon (pccardd) to
basically busy-loop doing scheduling, converting a laptop into a heater,
as reported by Bruno Prémont. But there may be other legacy uses of
that nested sleep model in other drivers that are also likely to never
get converted to the new model.
This fixes both cases:
- don't set TASK_RUNNING when the nested condition happens (note: even
if WARN_ONCE() only _warns_ once, the return value isn't whether the
warning happened, but whether the condition for the warning was true.
So despite the warning only happening once, the "if (WARN_ON(..))"
would trigger for every nested sleep.
- in the cases where we knowingly disable the warning by using
"sched_annotate_sleep()", don't change the task state (that is used
for all core scheduling decisions), instead use '->task_state_change'
that is used for the debugging decision itself.

avoid this subtle change in behaviour DEBUG_ATOMIC_SLEEP adds?" with the
suggested change to use 'task_state_change' as part of the test)

DMA read requests could miss proper termination, so two more bytes would
have been read via PIO overwriting the end of the buffer with wrong
data. Make DMA stop handling more readable while we are here.

Make the slave support depend on CONFIG_I2C_SLAVE. Otherwise it gets
included unconditionally, even when it is not needed.

This patch solves deadlock between clock prepare mutex and regmap mutex reported
by Tomasz Figa in [1] by implementing solution from [2]: "always leave the clock
of the i2c controller in a prepared state".

On each i2c transfer handled by s3c24xx_i2c_xfer(), clk_prepare_enable() was
called, which calls clk_prepare() then clk_enable(). clk_prepare() takes
prepare_lock mutex before proceeding. Note that i2c transfer functions are
invoked from many places in kernel, typically with some other additional lock
held.
It may happen that function on CPU1 (e.g. regmap_update_bits()) has taken a
mutex (i.e. regmap lock mutex) then it attempts i2c communication in order to
proceed (so it needs to obtain clock related prepare_lock mutex during transfer
preparation stage due to clk_prepare() call). At the same time other task on
CPU0 wants to operate on clock (e.g. to (un)prepare clock for some other reason)
so it has taken prepare_lock mutex.

Implemented solution from [2] leaves i2c clock prepared. Preparation is done in
s3c24xx_i2c_probe() function. Without this patch, it is immediately unprepared
by clk_disable_unprepare() call. I've replaced this call with clk_disable() and
I've added clk_unprepare() call in s3c24xx_i2c_remove().
The s3c24xx_i2c_xfer() function now uses clk_enable() instead of
clk_prepare_enable() (and clk_disable() instead of clk_unprepare_disable()).

commit 6e3f62f079 (mfd: core: Fix platform-device id generation) modified
the computation of the mfd cell id. Negative numbers forbit the specification
of cell ids as we do. Fix this for now by specifying a base of 0 instead. In
the long run, this may be changed to automatic cell ids (base -2).

In practice failure to find phy when requested in non-OF
case means it will never become available, so
__usb_find_phy() must return -ENODEV and not -EPROBE_DEFER.
This fixes a regression caused by commit 9c9d82492b73
(usb: phy: Fix deferred probing), where the USB
controller driver is left infinitely into deferred probe
when there are no phys.

I recently posted a patch ("storage: Add quirk for another SCM-based
USB-SCSI converter") to add a quirk for the converter with ID 04E6:000F,
which is listed along with 04E6:000B in the Windows INF file for the
Startech ICUSBSCSI2 as "eUSB SCSI Adapter (Bus Powered)".
The already-present quirk for 04E6:000B has USB_SC_SCSI/USB_PR_BULK, not
USB_SC_DEVICE/USB_PR_DEVICE. Change the 04E6:000F quirk to match that,
since it will probably be required.

The xfstests btrfs/072 reports uncorrectable read errors in dmesg,
because scrub forgets to use commit_root for parity scrub routine
and scrub attempts to scrub those extents items whose contents are
not fully on disk.
To fix it, we just add the @search_commit_root flag back.

"A fix for UDF to properly free preallocated blocks and a fix for quota
so that Q_GETQUOTA quotactl reports correct numbers for XFS filesystem
