* arm, powerpc: select SYS_GENERIC_BOARDMasahiro Yamada2015-10-241-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | We have finished Generic Board conversion for ARM and PowerPC, i.e. all the boards have been converted except OpenRISC, SuperH, SPARC, which have not supported Generic Board framework yet. Select SYS_GENERIC_BOARD in arch/Kconfig and delete all the macro defines in include/configs/*.h. Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.masahiro@socionext.com>

* kconfig: add config option for shell promptNikita Kiryanov2015-08-131-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add option to set shell prompt string from menuconfig and migrate boards globally. The migration is done as follows: - Boards that explicitly and unconditionally set CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT had the entry moved to their defconfig files. - Boards that defined some kind of #ifdef logic which selects the CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT (for example qemu-mips) got an #undef CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT right before the #ifdef logic and were left alone. - This change forces CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT to be a per board decision, and thus CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT was removed from all <soc>_common.h and <arch>_common.h files. This results in a streamlined default value across platforms, and includes the following files: spear-common, sunxi-common, mv-common, ti_armv7_common, tegra-common, at91-sama5_common, and zynq-common. - Boards that relied on <arch/soc>_common.h values of CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT were not updated in their respective defconfig files under the assumption that since they did not explicitly define a value, they're fine with whatever the default is. - On the other hand, boards that relied on a value defined in some <boards>_common.h file such as woodburn_common, rpi-common, bur_am335x_common, ls2085a_common, siemens_am33x_common, and omap3_evm_common, had their values moved to the respective defconfig files. - The define V_PROMPT was removed, since it is not used anywhere except for assigning a value for CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT. * nand: yaffs: Remove the "nand write.yaffs" commandPeter Tyser2015-03-301-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This command is only enabled by one board, complicates the NAND code, and doesn't appear to have been functioning properly for several years. If there are no bad blocks in the NAND region being written nand_write_skip_bad() will take the shortcut of calling nand_write() which bypasses the special yaffs handling. This causes invalid YAFFS data to be written. See http://lists.denx.de/pipermail/u-boot/2011-September/102830.html for an example and a potential workaround. U-Boot still retains the ability to mount and access YAFFS partitions via CONFIG_YAFFS2. Signed-off-by: Peter Tyser <ptyser@xes-inc.com>
* ARM: remove CONFIG_ARM920T definesMasahiro Yamada2014-11-201-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | CONFIG_CPU_ARM920T was introduced into Kconfig by commit 2e07c249a67e (kconfig: arm: introduce symbol for ARM CPUs). This commit removes all the defines of CONFIG_ARM920T and replaces the only reference in drivers/usb/host/ohci-hcd.c with CONFIG_CPU_ARM920T. * Replace CONFIG_SYS_GBL_DATA_SIZE by auto-generated valueWolfgang Denk2010-10-261-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | CONFIG_SYS_GBL_DATA_SIZE has always been just a bad workarond for not being able to use "sizeof(struct global_data)" in assembler files. Recent experience has shown that manual synchronization is not reliable enough. This patch renames CONFIG_SYS_GBL_DATA_SIZE into GENERATED_GBL_DATA_SIZE which gets automatically generated by the asm-offsets tool. In the result, all definitions of this value can be deleted from the board config files. We have to make sure that all files that reference such data include the new <asm-offsets.h> file. No other changes have been done yet, but it is obvious that similar changes / simplifications can be done for other, related macro definitions as well. * | stdio/device: rework function naming conventionJean-Christophe PLAGNIOL-VILLARD2009-07-181-1/+1
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | So far the console API uses the following naming convention: ======Extract====== typedef struct device_t; int device_register (device_t * dev); int devices_init (void); int device_deregister(char *devname); struct list_head* device_get_list(void); device_t* device_get_by_name(char* name); device_t* device_clone(device_t *dev); ======= which is too generic and confusing. Instead of using device_XX and device_t we change this into stdio_XX and stdio_dev This will also allow to add later a generic device mechanism in order to have support for multiple devices and driver instances. * NAND: rename NAND_MAX_CHIPS to CONFIG_SYS_NAND_MAX_CHIPSWolfgang Grandegger2009-01-231-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch renames NAND_MAX_CHIPS to CONFIG_SYS_NAND_MAX_CHIPS and changes the default from 8 to 1 for the legacy and the new MTD NAND layer. This allows to remove all NAND_MAX_CHIPS definitions in the board config files because none of the boards use multi chip support (NAND_MAX_CHIPS > 1) so far. The bamboo and the DU440 define #define NAND_MAX_CHIPS CONFIG_SYS_MAX_NAND_DEVICE but that's bogus and did not work anyhow.
