* PCI: Move pci_uevent into pci-driver.cBill Pemberton2012-11-281-37/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | With the demise of CONFIG_HOTPLUG as an option, the pci_uevent function located in hotplug.c will now always be used and doesn't need special treatment in the Makefile. Move pci_uevent into pci-driver.c and remove hotplug.c Signed-off-by: Bill Pemberton <wfp5p@virginia.edu> Acked-by: Bjorn Helgaas <bhelgaas@google.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
* Driver core: change add_uevent_var to use a structKay Sievers2007-10-121-22/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This changes the uevent buffer functions to use a struct instead of a long list of parameters. It does no longer require the caller to do the proper buffer termination and size accounting, which is currently wrong in some places. It fixes a known bug where parts of the uevent environment are overwritten because of wrong index calculations. Many thanks to Mathieu Desnoyers for finding bugs and improving the error handling. * [PATCH] driver core: replace "hotplug" by "uevent"Kay Sievers2006-01-041-22/+22
| | | | | | | | | Leave the overloaded "hotplug" word to susbsystems which are handling real devices. The driver core does not "plug" anything, it just exports the state to userspace and generates events. * [PATCH] PCI: move pci core to use add_hotplug_env_var()Greg Kroah-Hartman2005-09-091-32/+21
| | | | | | | | This fixes a bug in the environment variables for all PCI device hotplug calls. Thanks to Kay Sievers for pointing out the problem. Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
* [PATCH] PCI: Remove newline from pci MODALIAS variableHannes Reinecke2005-07-011-1/+1
| | | | | | | | the pci core sends out a hotplug event variable MODALIAS with a trailing newline. This is inconsistent with all other event variables and breaks some hotplug tools. This patch removes the said newline. Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
