| * carl9170: fix AMPDU TX_CTL_REQ_TX_STATUS handlingChristian Lamparter2011-11-021-4/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Previously the driver did not care if TX_CTL_REQ_TX_STATUS was set on aggregated frames or not and it would silently drop successfully sent frames if possible [much like: "no news is good news!"]. But, TX_CTL_REQ_TX_STATUS was invented for a reason and no tx status report should ever be dropped if it is set. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | tx params should be configured per interface. add ieee80211_vif param to the conf_tx callback, and change all the drivers that use this callback. | * carl9170: Fix mismatch in carl9170_op_set_key mutex lock-unlockAlexey Khoroshilov2011-08-241-1/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | If is_main_vif(ar, vif) reports that we have to fall back to software encryption, we goto err_softw; before locking ar->mutex. As a result, we have unprotected call to carl9170_set_operating_mode and unmatched mutex_unlock. The patch fix the issue by adding mutex_lock before goto. | * carl9170: fix allmulticast modeNicolas Cavallari2011-05-051-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Currently, the driver only disable multicast filtering when the FIF_ALLMULTI driver flag has been just set (ie, if changed_flags& FIF_ALLMULTI and *new_flags& FIF_ALLMULTI) or else it will reenable multicast filtering. But next time, this condition will be false and multicast filtering will be reenabled, even through FIF_ALLMULTI is still set. This mean that allmulticast only works for less than two minutes in ad-hoc mode. This patch fixes that to disable multicast filtering as long as FIF_ALLMULTI is set. * | carl9170: Fix tx aggregation problems with some clientsChristian Lamparter2011-03-293-0/+9
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | Some clients seem to rely upon the reception of BlockAckReqs to flush their rx reorder buffer. In order to fix aggregation for these clients carl9170 should set IEEE80211_TX_STAT_AMPDU_NO_BACK to generate a BlockAckReq if the transmission of an AMPDU subframe fails. | * mac80211: make tx() operation return voidJohannes Berg2011-02-252-4/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The return value of the tx operation is commonly misused by drivers, leading to errors. All drivers will drop frames if they fail to TX the frame, and they must also properly manage the queues (if they didn't, mac80211 would already warn). Removing the ability for drivers to return a BUSY value also allows significant cleanups of the TX TX handling code in mac80211. Note that this also fixes a bug in ath9k_htc, the old "return -1" there was wrong. * | mac80211: track receiver's aggregation reorder buffer sizeJohannes Berg2011-01-191-1/+1
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The aggregation code currently doesn't implement the buffer size negotiation. It will always request a max buffer size (which is fine, if a little pointless, as the mac80211 code doesn't know and might just use 0 instead), but if the peer requests a smaller size it isn't possible to honour this request. In order to fix this, look at the buffer size in the addBA response frame, keep track of it and pass it to the driver in the ampdu_action callback when called with the IEEE80211_AMPDU_TX_OPERATIONAL action. That way the driver can limit the number of subframes in aggregates appropriately. Note that this doesn't fix any drivers apart from the addition of the new argument -- they all need to be updated separately to use this variable! | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch revamps some common code-paths which are shared between (re-)initialization and suspend/resume subroutines. It also adds some helpful comments about quirks and associated difficulties. It's quite big, but it should fix #25382: <https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25382> And hopefully the code is robust enough to deal with all possible suspend/resume scenarios without requiring the user to do any sort of manual and possibly dangerous work.
