* ARM: do away with ARCH_[WANT_OPTIONAL|REQUIRE]_GPIOLIBLinus Walleij2016-06-031-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This replaces: - "select ARCH_REQUIRE_GPIOLIB" with "select GPIOLIB" as this can now be selected directly. - "select ARCH_WANT_OPTIONAL_GPIOLIB" with no dependency: GPIOLIB is now selectable by everyone, so we need not declare our intent to select it. When ordering the symbols the following rationale was used: if the selects were in alphabetical order, I moved select GPIOLIB to be in alphabetical order, but if the selects were not maintained in alphabetical order, I just replaced "select ARCH_REQUIRE_GPIOLIB" with "select GPIOLIB". * ARM: use "depends on" for SoC configs instead of "if" after promptMasahiro Yamada2015-12-011-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Many ARM sub-architectures use prompts followed by "if" conditional, but it is wrong. Please notice the difference between config ARCH_FOO bool "Foo SoCs" if ARCH_MULTI_V7 and config ARCH_FOO bool "Foo SoCs" depends on ARCH_MULTI_V7 These two are *not* equivalent! In the former statement, it is not ARCH_FOO, but its prompt that depends on ARCH_MULTI_V7. So, it is completely valid that ARCH_FOO is selected by another, but ARCH_MULTI_V7 is still disabled. As it is not unmet dependency, Kconfig never warns. This is probably not what you want. The former should be used only when you need to do so, and you really understand what you are doing. (In most cases, it should be wrong!) For enabling/disabling sub-architectures, the latter is always correct. As a good side effect, this commit fixes some entries over 80 columns (mach-imx, mach-integrator, mach-mbevu). * ARM: S5PV210: Enable multi-platform build supportTomasz Figa2014-07-191-20/+16
| | | | | | | | This makes it possible to enable the s5pv210 platform as part of a multiplatform kernel. Also redundant Kconfig options are removed. Signed-off-by: Tomasz Figa <t.figa@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Kukjin Kim <kgene.kim@samsung.com>
* ARM: S5PV210: Untie PM support from legacy codeTomasz Figa2014-07-191-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | This patch makes S5PV210 not rely on legacy suspend helpers in plat-samsung and implements platform suspend logic locally, similarly to Exynos. Signed-off-by: Tomasz Figa <t.figa@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Kukjin Kim <kgene.kim@samsung.com>
* ARM: S5PV210: Remove support for board filesTomasz Figa2014-07-191-173/+0
| | | | | | | | Since all in-tree boards have been moved to device tree, we can now drop legacy code and make mach-s5pv210 DT-only. This patch does it. Signed-off-by: Tomasz Figa <t.figa@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Kukjin Kim <kgene.kim@samsung.com>

* ARM: SAMSUNG: Remove legacy clock codeTomasz Figa2014-07-191-9/+0
| | | | | | | | | | Since S5PV210 now has a complete clock driver using Common Clock Framework, there is no reason to keep the old code. Remove it together with the whole legacy Samsung-specific clock framework which no longer has any users. * ARM: samsung: make SAMSUNG_DMADEV optionalArnd Bergmann2014-06-171-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The only remaining driver using the samsung dmadev code is the broken samsung-ac97 sound driver. However, as found by Russell's autobuilder, the elaborate dependency chains around it cause problems with circular dependencies. This is an attempt to simplify those dependencies by making the SAMSUNG_DMADEV option user-selectable. I also try to keep the default settings for all related options unchanged, so we don't introduce any regressions against earlier testing on linux-next. In particular, all s3c64xx and s5p* platforms keep selecting the pl330 and pl08x drivers they require, but the select statement is now moved towards the main platform option, and it remains optional by unselecting CONFIG_DMADEVICES. * ARM: s5pv210: enable IDE support in MACH_TORBRECKArnd Bergmann2014-03-211-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Building MACH_TORBRECK by itself results in a build error because we try to reference the s3c_device_cfcon definition that is hidden inside CONFIG_SAMSUNG_DEV_IDE. This changes the Kconfig logic to ensure that option is enabled when we need it. * ARM: config: sort select statements alphanumericallyRussell King2012-10-131-25/+25
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | As suggested by Andrew Morton: This is a pet peeve of mine. Any time there's a long list of items (header file inclusions, kconfig entries, array initalisers, etc) and someone wants to add a new item, they *always* go and stick it at the end of the list. Guys, don't do this. Either put the new item into a randomly-chosen position or, probably better, alphanumerically sort the list. lets sort all our select statements alphanumerically. This commit was created by the following perl: while (<>) { while (/\\\s*$/) { $_ .= <>; } undef %selects if /^\s*config\s+/; if (/^\s+select\s+(\w+).*/) { if (defined($selects{$1})) { if ($selects{$1} eq $_) { print STDERR "Warning: removing duplicated $1 entry\n"; } else { print STDERR "Error: $1 differently selected\n". "\tOld: $selects{$1}\n". "\tNew: $_\n"; exit 1; } } $selects{$1} = $_; next; } if (%selects and (/^\s*$/ or /^\s+help/ or /^\s+---help---/ or /^endif/ or /^endchoice/)) { foreach $k (sort (keys %selects)) { print "$selects{$k}"; } undef %selects; } print; } if (%selects) { foreach $k (sort (keys %selects)) { print "$selects{$k}"; } } It found two duplicates: Warning: removing duplicated S5P_SETUP_MIPIPHY entry Warning: removing duplicated HARDIRQS_SW_RESEND entry and they are identical duplicates, hence the shrinkage in the diffstat of two lines. We're trying to keep the number of board files low, but generally board level updates are ok on platforms that are working on moving towards DT based probing, which will eventually lead to removing them. The board-ams-delta.c board file gets a conflict between the removal of ams_delta_config and the addition of a lot of other data.
