Some of the highlights are: - DTs for the new Annapurna Labs Alpine platform - more graphics DT pieces falling into place on Exynos, bridges, clocks. - plenty of DT updates for Qualcomm platforms for various IP blocks - some churn on Tegra due to switch-over to tool-generated pinctrl data - misc fixes and updates for Atmel at91 platforms - various DT updates to add IP block support on Broadcom's Cygnus platforms - more updates for Renesas platforms as DT support is added for various IP blocks (IPMMU, display, audio, etc)" * tag 'armsoc-dt' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc: (231 commits) ARM: dts: alpine: add internal pci Revert "ARM: dts: mt8135: Add pinctrl/GPIO/EINT node for mt8135." So it was decided that we should try to remove the wl12xx support from the da850 board file as suggested by Sekhar Nori <nsekhar@ti.com>. As it's the last patch in the series, the last patch can be simply reverted if needed. As this series touches quite a bit of arch code, it was suggested by Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org> that the whole series should be merged via the arm-soc tree. * tag 'omap-for-v4.1/wl12xx-dt' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tmlind/linux-omap: wlcore: remove wl12xx_platform_data ARM: dts: add wl12xx/wl18xx bindings wlcore: add device-tree support dt: bindings: add TI's wilink wireless device wl12xx: use frequency instead of enumerations for pdata clocks wlcore: set irq_trigger in board files instead of hiding behind a quirk + Linux 4.0-rc4 Signed-off-by: Olof Johansson <olof@lixom.net>

| |/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Fixed behaviour of get_mctrl() serial driver function as documented in: https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/serial/driver Added device-tree properties 'dcd-override', 'dsr-override', 'cts-override', and 'ri-override' specific to the Synopsis 8250 DesignWare UART driver. Allows one to force Data Carrier Detect, Clear To Send, and Data Set Ready signals to permanently be reported as active. The Ring indicator can be forced to be reported as inactive. It is possible that if modem control signalling is enabled on a port that doesn't have these pins (e.g. - a simple two wire Tx/Rx port), the driver can hang indefinitely waiting for the state to change. The new DT properties allow the driver to ignore the state of these pins on serial ports that don't support them, as recommended in the kernel documentation. The nvidia,tegra20-timer compatible string is removed from the nvidia,tegra30-timer.txt documentation file because it's already mentioned in the nvidia,tegra20-timer.txt documentation file. This second version takes into account the following requests from Rob Herring <robherring2@gmail.com>: - Per-IP block patches have been combined into a single patch - Explicit documentation about which compatible strings are actually matched by the driver has been removed. In its place is implicit documentation that loosely follows Rob's prescribed format: "Must contain '"nvidia,<chip>-pcie", "nvidia,tegra20-pcie"' where <chip> is tegra30, tegra132, ..." |/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Make the map match the reality, the current binding text is nonsense: - The clock required for the clocking of the serial port must come first and is not optional (as the driver will otherwise proceed to grab and use the apb_pclk as uartclk), and the apb_pclk that clocks the logic must come second as the code will retrieve the first clock by index, whereas the PrimeCell but will explicitly look for "apb_pclk" so this can be specified later, as it is looked up by name. - The pin control state "default" is the only mandated state, the sleep state is entirely optional. We also add an example to avoid further confusion. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Newer WonderMedia chips introduced another flag in the UART line control register, which controls whether RTS/CTS signalling should be handled in the driver or by the hardware itself. This patch ensures that the kernel can control RTS/CTS (including disabling it altogether) by forcing this flag to software mode on affected chips (only WM8880 so far). * Revert "serial: uart: add hw flow control support configuration"Peter Hurley2014-09-081-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This reverts commit 06aa82e498c144c7784a6f3d3b55458b272d6146. This commit purports to enable auto CTS flow control for the 8250 UART driver. However, the 8250 UART driver already supports auto CTS flow control via UART_CAP_AFE and UART_CAP_EFR. Indeed, this patch introduces another DT attribute for which an existing firmware flag already exists ("auto-flow-control"). Furthermore, the use of UPF_HARD_FLOW requires the UART driver to define .throttle and .unthrottle methods, neither of which are defined for the 8250 UART driver (which will result in a NULL ptr dereference). Finally, this patch supposes to fix existing bugs in the serial core for auto CTS-enabled hardware, but does not include the class of hardware for which these bugs exist. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | CLPS711X serial driver uses the system wide registers to control the modem signals. Now gpio-syscon driver can be used for this purposes. mctrl_gpio helpers allow us to create GPIO bindings for any of modem/tty control signals that extends the functionality of the driver. This patch makes such change. This change does not break any current DT bindings, since DT support for this platform is not introduced yet. Most of this is plumbing for various device bindings and new platforms, but there's also a bit of cleanup and code removal for things that are moved from platform code to DT contents (some OMAP clock code in particular). There's also a pinctrl driver for tegra here (appropriately acked), that's introduced this way to make it more bisectable. I'm happy to say that there were no conflicts at all with this branch this release, which means that changes are flowing through our tree as expected instead of merged through driver maintainers (or at least not done with conflicts). There are several new boards added, and a couple of SoCs. In no particular order: - Rockchip RK3288 SoC support, including DTS for a dev board that they have seeded with some community developers. - Better support for Hardkernel Exynos4-based ODROID boards. - CCF conversions (and dtsi contents) for several Renesas platforms. - Gumstix Pepper (TI AM335x) board support - TI eval board support for AM437x - Allwinner A23 SoC, very similar to existing ones which mostly has resulted in DT changes for support. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | 8250 uart driver currently supports only software assisted hw flow control. The software assisted hw flow control maintains a hw_stopped flag in the tty structure to stop and start transmission and use modem status interrupt for the event to drive the handshake signals.
