pci_bus_alloc_resource() avoids allocating space below the "min" supplied
by the caller (usually PCIBIOS_MIN_IO or PCIBIOS_MIN_MEM). This is to
protect badly documented motherboard resources. But if we're allocating
space inside an already-configured PCI-PCI bridge window, we ignore "min".
See 688d191821de ("pci: make bus resource start address override minimum IO
address").
This patch moves the check to make it more visible and simplify future
patches. No functional change.

We're accessing the PCI_COMMAND register here, so use the appropriate
#define. The bit we're writing (1 << 14) isn't defined by the PCI or PCIe
spec, so we don't have a name for it.

In i810_setup(), i830_setup(), and i9xx_setup(), we use the result of
pci_bus_address() as an argument to ioremap() and to compute gtt_phys_addr.
These should use pci_resource_start() instead because we want the CPU
physical address, not the bus address.
If there were an AGP device behind a host bridge that translated addresses,
e.g., a PNP0A08 device with _TRA != 0, this would fix a bug. I'm not aware
of any of those, but they are possible.

The PCI core reads MMADR at enumeration-time. Use pci_bus_address()
instead of reading it again in the driver. This works correctly for both
32-bit and 64-bit BARs. The spec above only mentions 32-bit MMADR, but we
should still use the standard interface.
Also, stop clearing the low 19 bits of the bus address because it's invalid
to use addresses outside the region defined by the BAR. The spec claims
MMADR is 512KB; if that's the case, those bits will be zero anyway.

amd_irongate_configure(), ati_configure(), and nvidia_configure() call
ioremap() on an address read directly from a BAR. But a BAR contains a
bus address, and ioremap() expects a CPU physical address. Use
pci_resource_start() to obtain the physical address.

bits or 64 bits wide. Many drivers read APBASE directly, but they only
handled 32-bit BARs.

We store BAR information as a struct resource, which contains the CPU
address, not the bus address. Drivers often need the bus address, and
there's currently no convenient way to get it, so they often read the
BAR directly, or use the resource address (which doesn't work if there's
any translation between CPU and bus addresses).
Add pci_bus_address() to make this convenient.

These interfaces:
pcibios_resource_to_bus(struct pci_dev *dev, *bus_region, *resource)
pcibios_bus_to_resource(struct pci_dev *dev, *resource, *bus_region)
took a pci_dev, but they really depend only on the pci_bus. And we want to
use them in resource allocation paths where we have the bus but not a
device, so this patch converts them to take the pci_bus instead of the
pci_dev:
pcibios_resource_to_bus(struct pci_bus *bus, *bus_region, *resource)
pcibios_bus_to_resource(struct pci_bus *bus, *resource, *bus_region)
In fact, with standard PCI-PCI bridges, they only depend on the host
bridge, because that's the only place address translation occurs, but
we aren't going that far yet.

When accessing the lower_file pointer located in private_data of
eCryptfs files, there is no need to check to see if the private_data
pointer has been initialized to a non-NULL value. The file->private_data
and file->private_data->lower_file pointers are always initialized to
non-NULL values in ecryptfs_open().
This change quiets a Smatch warning:

current_headset_type should be of the HEADSET_TYPE enum, not the
HEADSET_MODE enum. Since ALC_HEADSET_TYPE_UNKNOWN and ALC_HEADSET_MODE_UNKNOWN

Some models (or maybe depending on BIOS version) of Sony VAIO with
ALC260 give no proper pin configurations as default, resulting in the
non-working speaker, etc. Just provide the whole pin configurations
via a fixup.

The laptop has a built-in speaker on NID 0x1a. It's an LFE only on
the right channel, so we need to provide an explicit chmap, too.
There might be other surround speakers, but they can fixed in addition
at later point, so let's fix the easier bass speaker at first.

When a codec is resumed, it keeps the power on while the resuming
phase via hda_keep_power_on(), then turns down via
snd_hda_power_down(). At that point, snd_hda_power_down() notifies
the power down to the controller, and this may confuse the refcount if
the codec was already powered up before the resume.
In the end result, the controller goes to runtime suspend even before
the codec is kicked off to the power save, and the communication
stalls happens.
The fix is to add the power-up notification together with
hda_keep_power_on(), and clears the flag appropriately.

We're using the ACPI interface to detect whether we're dealing with a Thinkpad
or not. This way we're not loading the thinkpad_acpi module when we're not on
a Thinkpad, but at the same time, we give the opportunity to check for, and
potentially enable, both present and future Thinkpad with mute/micmute LEDs.
At least those running the ALC269 family (269 to 299) of Realtek codecs.

The lifetime changes introduced in 5bdebb183c9702a8c57a01dff09337be3de337a6
tried to use device_create, however that led to the regression where dev->type
wasn't getting set correctly. First attempt at fixing it would have led to
a race, so this undoes the device_createa work and does it all manually
making sure the dev->type is setup before we register the device.

This patch releases a vma object when cleaning up userptr resources.
A new vma object was allocated and copied when getting userptr pages
so the new vma object should be freed properly if the userptr pages
aren't used anymore.

"[BUG] completely bonkers use of set_need_resched + VM_FAULT_NOPAGE".
In the first occurence it was used to try to be nice while releasing the
mmap_sem and retrying the fault to work around a locking inversion.
The second occurence was never used.
There has been some discussion whether we should change the locking order to
mmap_sem -> bo_reserve. This patch doesn't address that issue, and leaves
that locking order undefined. The solution that we release the mmap_sem if
tryreserve fails and wait for the buffer to become unreserved is something
we want in any case, and follows how the core vm system waits for pages
to be come unlocked while releasing the mmap_sem.
The code also outlines what needs to be changed if we want to establish the
locking order as mmap_sem -> bo::reserve.
One slight issue that remains with this code is that the fault handler might
be prone to starvation if another thread countinously reserves the buffer.
IMO that usage pattern is highly unlikely.

If ttm_bo_move_memcpy was instructed to move a non-populated ttm to
io memory, it would first populate the ttm, then move the data and then
destroy the ttm. That's stupid. However, some drivers might have relied on
this to clear io memory from old stuff. So instead of a NOP, which would
be the most efficient, just clear the destination.
