Fix typos and add the following to the scripts/spelling.txt:

  overide||override

While we are here, fix the doubled "address" in the touched line
Documentation/devicetree/bindings/regulator/ti-abb-regulator.txt.

Also, fix the comment block style in the touched hunks in
drivers/media/dvb-frontends/drx39xyj/drx_driver.h.

The dynamic-list-file used to export dynamic symbols introduced in

commit e3d09ec8126f ("tools lib traceevent: Export dynamic symbols
used by traceevent plugins")

is generated without any sort of error checking.

I experienced problems due to an old version of nm (v 0.158) that outputs
in a format distinct from the assumed by the script.

Robustify the built of dynamic symbol list by enforcing that the second
column of $(NM) -u &lt;files&gt; is either "U" (Undefined), "W" or "w" (undefined
weak), which are the possible outputs from non-ancient $(NM) versions.
Print an error if format is unexpected.

v2: Accept "W" and "w" symbol options.

make already provides the current working directory in a variable, so make
use of it instead of forking a shell. Also replace usage of PWD by
CURDIR. PWD is provided by most shells, but not all, so this makes the
build system more robust.

Adding version support for libtraceevent.so object.

Using the existing EVENT_PARSE_VERSION variable to construct
the .so object version string, which now consists of:

  $(EP_VERSION).$(EP_PATCHLEVEL).$(EP_EXTRAVERSION)

Looks like it was created for this purpose anyway.

The build will now produce following traeceevent libraries:

  $ ll libtraceevent*
  libtraceevent.a
  libtraceevent.so -&gt; libtraceevent.so.1.1.0
  libtraceevent.so.1 -&gt; libtraceevent.so.1.1.0
  libtraceevent.so.1.1.0

Also the install target will carry them:

  $ make DESTDIR=/tmp/krava prefix=/usr install
  INSTALL  trace_plugins
  INSTALL  libtraceevent.a
  INSTALL  libtraceevent.so.1.1.0

  $ find /tmp/krava/ | xargs ls -l
  ...
  /tmp/krava/usr/lib64:
  total 572
  libtraceevent.a
  libtraceevent.so -&gt; libtraceevent.so.1.1.0
  libtraceevent.so.1 -&gt; libtraceevent.so.1.1.0
  libtraceevent.so.1.1.0
  ...

<title>tools lib traceevent: Export dynamic symbols used by traceevent plugins</title>

Traceevent plugins need dynamic symbols exported from libtraceevent.a,
otherwise a dlopen error will occur during plugins loading.

This patch uses dynamic-list-file to export dynamic symbols which will
be used in plugins to perf executable.

The problem is covered up if feature-libpython is enabled, because
PYTHON_EMBED_LDOPTS contains '-Xlinker --export-dynamic' which adds all
symbols to the dynamic symbol table. So we should reproduce the problem
by setting NO_LIBPYTHON=1.

Before this patch:

  (Prepare plugins)
  $ ls /root/.traceevent/plugins/
  plugin_sched_switch.so
  plugin_function.so
  ...

  $ perf record -e 'ftrace:function' ls

  $ perf script
    Warning: could not load plugin '/mnt/data/root/.traceevent/plugins/plugin_sched_switch.so'
    /root/.traceevent/plugins/plugin_sched_switch.so: undefined symbol: pevent_unregister_event_handler

    Warning: could not load plugin '/root/.traceevent/plugins/plugin_function.so'
    /root/.traceevent/plugins/plugin_function.so: undefined symbol: warning
    ...

After this patch:

  $ perf record -e 'ftrace:function' ls
  $ perf script
           :1049  1049 [000]  9666.754487: ftrace:function: __set_task_comm
