From fe9925b551a95fae6ec61470c79f8b701a2fe928 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Stephen Hemminger Date: Sat, 6 May 2006 17:56:03 -0700 Subject: [NET]: Create netdev attribute_groups with class_device_add Atomically create attributes when class device is added. This avoids the race between registering class_device (which generates hotplug event), and the creation of attribute groups. The last step of netdevice registration was being done by a delayed call, but because it was delayed, it was impossible to return any error code if the class_device registration failed. Side effects: * one state in registration process is unnecessary. * register_netdevice can sleep inside class_device registration/hotplug * code in netdev_run_todo only does unregistration so it is simpler.
