* perf symbol: Move sym_entry->skip to symbol->ignoreArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2011-03-111-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | While going thru each of the sym_entry fields looking to reduce it to the set of entries needed when in an active symbols list, 'skip' should really be in symbol, as we set it when loading the symtab. And the space used by the basic symbol allocation remains the same as we had 5 bytes of padding. * perf top: Remove redundant syme->origin fieldArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2011-03-111-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We can get it from syme->map->dso->kernel (that should be renamed to origin, but leave this for another patch). * perf top: Remove redundant perf_top->sym_counterArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2011-03-111-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | We can get that counter index from perf_top->sym_evsel->idx instead. * perf top: Live TUI AnnotationArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2011-02-221-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Now one has just to press the right key, 'a' or Enter on the main 'perf top --tui' screen to live annotate the symbol under the cursor. The annotate window starts centered on the hottest line (the one with most samples so far) then TAB and shift+TAB can be used to go to the prev/next hot line. Pressing 'H' at any point will center again the screen on the hottest line. * perf annotate: Move locking to struct annotationArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2011-02-081-6/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Since we'll need it when implementing the live annotate TUI browser. This also simplifies things a bit by having the list head for the source code to be in the dynamicly allocated part of struct annotation, that way we don't have to pass it around, it can be found from the struct symbol that is passed everywhere. * perf top: Remove superfluous name_len fieldArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2011-02-051-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | From the sym_entry struct, struct symbol already has this field. * perf top: Introduce slang based TUIArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2011-01-311-1/+14
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Disabled by default as there are features found in the stdio based one that aren't implemented, like live annotation, filtering knobs data entry. Annotation hopefully will get somehow merged with the 'perf annotate' code. To use it: perf top --tui Cc: Frederic Weisbecker <fweisbec@gmail.com> Cc: Ingo Molnar <mingo@elte.hu> Cc: Mike Galbraith <efault@gmx.de> Cc: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org> Cc: Peter Zijlstra <peterz@infradead.org> Cc: Stephane Eranian <eranian@google.com> Cc: Tom Zanussi <tzanussi@gmail.com> LKML-Reference: <new-submission> Signed-off-by: Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo <acme@redhat.com>
