|\ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/jesse/openvswitch Jesse Gross says: ==================== [GIT net-next] Open vSwitch Open vSwitch changes for net-next/3.14. Highlights are: * Performance improvements in the mechanism to get packets to userspace using memory mapped netlink and skb zero copy where appropriate. * Per-cpu flow stats in situations where flows are likely to be shared across CPUs. Standard flow stats are used in other situations to save memory and allocation time. * A handful of code cleanups and rationalization. ==================== Signed-off-by: David S. * | net: unify the pcpu_tstats and br_cpu_netstats as oneLi RongQing2014-01-041-1/+1
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | They are same, so unify them as one, pcpu_sw_netstats. Define pcpu_sw_netstat in netdevice.h, remove pcpu_tstats from if_tunnel and remove br_cpu_netstats from br_private.h Cc: Cong Wang <xiyou.wangcong@gmail.com> Cc: Stephen Hemminger <stephen@networkplumber.org> Signed-off-by: Li RongQing <roy.qing.li@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. * openvswitch: Add vxlan tunneling support.Pravin B Shelar2013-08-201-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | Following patch adds vxlan vport type for openvswitch using vxlan api. So now there is vxlan dependency for openvswitch. * openvswitch: Add gre tunnel support.Pravin B Shelar2013-06-191-0/+7
| | | | | | | | | | Add gre vport implementation. Most of gre protocol processing is pushed to gre module. It make use of gre demultiplexer therefore it can co-exist with linux device based gre tunnels. | | | | | | | | Add ovs tunnel interface for set tunnel action for userspace. Signed-off-by: Pravin B Shelar <pshelar@nicira.com> Acked-by: Jesse Gross <jesse@nicira.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* openvswitch: make skb->csum consistent with rest of networking stack.Pravin B Shelar2013-06-141-0/+7
| | | | | | | Following patch keeps skb->csum correct across ovs. Signed-off-by: Pravin B Shelar <pshelar@nicira.com> Signed-off-by: Jesse Gross <jesse@nicira.com>
* openvswitch: Unify vport error stats handling.Pravin B Shelar2013-06-141-1/+2
| | | | | | | | Following patch changes vport->send return type so that vport layer can do error accounting. Signed-off-by: Pravin B Shelar <pshelar@nicira.com> Signed-off-by: Jesse Gross <jesse@nicira.com>
* openvswitch: Remove unused get_config vport op.Jesse Gross2013-06-141-3/+0
| | | | | | | The get_config vport op is left over from old compatibility code, it is neither used nor implemented any more. Signed-off-by: Jesse Gross <jesse@nicira.com>
* openvswitch: Remove unneeded ovs_netdev_get_ifindex()Thomas Graf2013-04-301-2/+0
| | | | | | | | The only user is get_dpifindex(), no need to redirect via the port operations. Signed-off-by: Thomas Graf <tgraf@suug.ch> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* openvswitch: Use generic struct pcpu_tstats.Pravin B Shelar2013-04-151-9/+2
| | | | | | | | Rather than defining ovs specific stats struct (vport_percpu_stats), we can use existing pcpu_tstats to achieve exactly same functionality. Signed-off-by: Pravin B Shelar <pshelar@nicira.com> Signed-off-by: Jesse Gross <jesse@nicira.com>
* openvswitch: Simplify datapath locking.Pravin B Shelar2013-04-151-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | Currently OVS uses combination of genl and rtnl lock to protect datapath state. This was done due to networking stack locking. But this has complicated locking and there are few lock ordering issues with new tunneling protocols. Following patch simplifies locking by introducing new ovs mutex and now this lock is used to protect entire ovs state. * openvswitch: Avoid useless holes in struct vportThomas Graf2012-12-041-2/+2
| | | | | | | | Having the 16bit port_no in between a set of pointers creates an unwanted and useless hole in the struct. Signed-off-by: Thomas Graf <tgraf@suug.ch> Signed-off-by: Jesse Gross <jesse@nicira.com>
* netlink: Rename pid to portid to avoid confusionEric W. Biederman2012-09-101-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | It is a frequent mistake to confuse the netlink port identifier with a process identifier. Try to reduce this confusion by renaming fields that hold port identifiers portid instead of pid. I have carefully avoided changing the structures exported to userspace to avoid changing the userspace API. I have successfully built an allyesconfig kernel with this change. Signed-off-by: "Eric W. * openvswitch: Increase maximum number of datapath ports.Pravin B Shelar2012-09-031-2/+2
| | | | | | | Use hash table to store ports of datapath. Allow 64K ports per switch. Signed-off-by: Pravin B Shelar <pshelar@nicira.com> Signed-off-by: Jesse Gross <jesse@nicira.com>
* openvswitch: Add support for network namespaces.Pravin B Shelar2012-08-221-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | Following patch adds support for network namespace to openvswitch. Since it must release devices when namespaces are destroyed, a side effect of this patch is that the module no longer keeps a refcount but instead cleans up any state when it is unloaded. * net: Add Open vSwitch kernel components.Jesse Gross2011-12-031-0/+205
Open vSwitch is a multilayer Ethernet switch targeted at virtualized environments. In addition to supporting a variety of features expected in a traditional hardware switch, it enables fine-grained programmatic extension and flow-based control of the network. This control is useful in a wide variety of applications but is particularly important in multi-server virtualization deployments, which are often characterized by highly dynamic endpoints and the need to maintain logical abstractions for multiple tenants. The Open vSwitch datapath provides an in-kernel fast path for packet forwarding. It is complemented by a userspace daemon, ovs-vswitchd, which is able to accept configuration from a variety of sources and translate it into packet processing rules. See http://openvswitch.org for more information and userspace utilities. Signed-off-by: Jesse Gross <jesse@nicira.com>
