* crypto: crc32c - Fix crc32c soft dependencyJean Delvare2016-02-171-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | commit fd7f6727102a1ccf6b4c1dfcc631f9b546526b26 upstream. I don't think it makes sense for a module to have a soft dependency on itself. This seems quite cyclic by nature and I can't see what purpose it could serve. OTOH libcrc32c calls crypto_alloc_shash("crc32c", 0, 0) so it pretty much assumes that some incarnation of the "crc32c" hash algorithm has been loaded. Therefore it makes sense to have the soft dependency there (as crc-t10dif does.) Cc: Tim Chen <tim.c.chen@linux.intel.com> Cc: "David S. * crypto: LLVMLinux: Remove VLAIS usage from libcrc32c.cJan-Simon Möller2014-10-141-9/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Replaced the use of a Variable Length Array In Struct (VLAIS) with a C99 compliant equivalent. This patch allocates the appropriate amount of memory using a char array using the SHASH_DESC_ON_STACK macro. The new code can be compiled with both gcc and clang. * libcrc32c: Fix "crc32c undefined" compilation errorAdrian-Ken Rueegsegger2008-12-251-0/+2

* libcrc32c: Move implementation to crypto crc32cHerbert Xu2008-12-251-150/+32
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch swaps the role of libcrc32c and crc32c. Previously the implementation was in libcrc32c and crc32c was a wrapper. Now the code is in crc32c and libcrc32c just calls the crypto layer. The reason for the change is to tap into the algorithm selection capability of the crypto API so that optimised implementations such as the one utilising Intel's CRC32C instruction can be used where available. * [LIB] crc32c: Keep intermediate crc state in cpu orderBenny Halevy2007-11-081-5/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | crypto/crc32.c:chksum_final() is computing the digest as *(__le32 *)out = ~cpu_to_le32(mctx->crc); so the low-level crc32c_le routines should just keep the crc in cpu order, otherwise it is getting swabbed one too many times on big-endian machines. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
