Fix up mostly pretty trivial conflicts in:
- arch/arm/Kconfig
- arch/arm/include/asm/localtimer.h
- arch/arm/kernel/Makefile
- arch/arm/mach-shmobile/board-ap4evb.c

- arch/arm/mm/proc-v7.S
- arch/arm/plat-omap/Kconfig
largely due to some CONFIG option renaming (ie CONFIG_PM_SLEEP ->
CONFIG_ARM_CPU_SUSPEND for the arm-specific suspend code etc) and
addition of NEED_MACH_MEMORY_H next to HAVE_IDE.

During some CPU power modes entered during idle, hotplug and
suspend, peripherals located in the CPU power domain, such as
the GIC, localtimers, and VFP, may be powered down. Add a
notifier chain that allows drivers for those peripherals to
be notified before and after they may be reset.
Notified drivers can include VFP co-processor, interrupt controller
and it's PM extensions, local CPU timers context save/restore which
shouldn't be interrupted. Hence CPU PM event APIs must be called
with interrupts disabled.

For s390 there is one additional byte associated with each page,
the storage key. This byte contains the referenced and changed
bits and needs to be included into the hibernation image.
If the storage keys are not restored to their previous state all
original pages would appear to be dirty. This can cause
inconsistencies e.g. with read-only filesystems.

Function genpd_queue_power_off_work() is not defined for
CONFIG_PM_RUNTIME, so pm_genpd_poweroff_unused() causes a build
error to happen in that case. Fix the problem by making
pm_genpd_poweroff_unused() depend on CONFIG_PM_RUNTIME too.

The common clocks management code in drivers/base/power/clock_ops.c
is going to be used during system-wide power transitions as well as
for runtime PM, so it shouldn't depend on CONFIG_PM_RUNTIME.
However, the suspend/resume functions provided by it for
CONFIG_PM_RUNTIME unset, to be used during system-wide power
transitions, should not behave in the same way as their counterparts
defined for CONFIG_PM_RUNTIME set, because in that case the clocks
are managed differently at run time.
The names of the functions still contain the word "runtime" after
this change, but that is going to be modified by a separate patch
later.

Introduce common headers, helper functions and callbacks allowing
platforms to use simple generic power domains for runtime power
management.
Introduce struct generic_pm_domain to be used for representing
power domains that each contain a number of devices and may be
parent domains or subdomains with respect to other power domains.
Among other things, this structure includes callbacks to be
provided by platforms for performing specific tasks related to
power management (i.e. ->stop_device() may disable a device's
clocks, while ->start_device() may enable them, ->power_off() is
supposed to remove power from the entire power domain
and ->power_on() is supposed to restore it).
Introduce functions that can be used as power domain runtime PM
callbacks, pm_genpd_runtime_suspend() and pm_genpd_runtime_resume(),
as well as helper functions for the initialization of a power
domain represented by a struct generic_power_domain object,
adding a device to or removing a device from it and adding or
removing subdomains.
Introduce configuration option CONFIG_PM_GENERIC_DOMAINS to be
selected by the platforms that want to use the new code.

Now that we have CONFIG_DYNAMIC_DEBUG there is no need for yet
another flag causing dev_dbg() and pr_debug() statements in the
core PM code to produce output. Moreover, CONFIG_PM_VERBOSE
causes so much output to be generated that it's not really useful
and almost no one sets it.

clocks during suspend and enable them during resume which is going to
be done in a very similar way in all those cases. For this reason,
provide generic routines for the manipulation of device clocks during

Xen save/restore is going to use hibernate device callbacks for
quiescing devices and putting them back to normal operations and it
would need to select CONFIG_HIBERNATION for this purpose. However,
that also would cause the hibernate interfaces for user space to be
enabled, which might confuse user space, because the Xen kernels
don't support hibernation. Moreover, it would be wasteful, as it
would make the Xen kernels include a substantial amount of code that
they would never use.
To address this issue introduce new power management Kconfig option
CONFIG_HIBERNATE_CALLBACKS, such that it will only select the code
that is necessary for the hibernate device callbacks to work and make
CONFIG_HIBERNATION select it. Then, Xen save/restore will be able to
select CONFIG_HIBERNATE_CALLBACKS without dragging the entire
hibernate code along with it.

From the users' point of view CONFIG_PM is really only used for
making it possible to set CONFIG_SUSPEND, CONFIG_HIBERNATION,
CONFIG_PM_RUNTIME and (surprisingly enough) CONFIG_XEN_SAVE_RESTORE
(CONFIG_PM_OPP also depends on CONFIG_PM, but quite artificially).
However, both CONFIG_SUSPEND and CONFIG_HIBERNATION require platform
support (independent of CONFIG_PM) and it is not quite obvious that
CONFIG_PM has to be set for CONFIG_XEN_SAVE_RESTORE to be available.
Thus, from the users' point of view, it would be more logical to
automatically select CONFIG_PM if any of the above options depending
on it are set.
Make CONFIG_PM depend on (CONFIG_PM_SLEEP || CONFIG_PM_RUNTIME),
which will cause it to be selected when any of CONFIG_SUSPEND,
CONFIG_HIBERNATION, CONFIG_PM_RUNTIME, CONFIG_XEN_SAVE_RESTORE is
set and will clarify its meaning.

SoCs have a standard set of tuples consisting of frequency and
voltage pairs that the device will support per voltage domain. These
are called Operating Performance Points or OPPs. The actual
definitions of OPP varies over silicon versions. For a specific domain,
we can have a set of {frequency, voltage} pairs. As the kernel boots
and more information is available, a default set of these are activated
based on the precise nature of device. Further on operation, based on
conditions prevailing in the system (such as temperature), some OPP
availability may be temporarily controlled by the SoC frameworks.
To implement an OPP, some sort of power management support is necessary
hence this library depends on CONFIG_PM.

This patch implements a new freezer subsystem in the control groups
framework. It provides a way to stop and resume execution of all tasks in
a cgroup by writing in the cgroup filesystem.
The freezer subsystem in the container filesystem defines a file named
freezer.state. Writing "FROZEN" to the state file will freeze all tasks
in the cgroup. Subsequently writing "RUNNING" will unfreeze the tasks in
the cgroup. Reading will return the current state.
* Examples of usage :
# mkdir /containers/freezer
# mount -t cgroup -ofreezer freezer /containers
# mkdir /containers/0
# echo $some_pid > /containers/0/tasks
to get status of the freezer subsystem :
# cat /containers/0/freezer.state
RUNNING
to freeze all tasks in the container :
# echo FROZEN > /containers/0/freezer.state
# cat /containers/0/freezer.state
FREEZING
# cat /containers/0/freezer.state
FROZEN
to unfreeze all tasks in the container :
# echo RUNNING > /containers/0/freezer.state
# cat /containers/0/freezer.state
RUNNING
This is the basic mechanism which should do the right thing for user space
task in a simple scenario.
It's important to note that freezing can be incomplete. In that case we
return EBUSY. This means that some tasks in the cgroup are busy doing
something that prevents us from completely freezing the cgroup at this
time. After EBUSY, the cgroup will remain partially frozen -- reflected
by freezer.state reporting "FREEZING" when read. The state will remain
"FREEZING" until one of these things happens:
1) Userspace cancels the freezing operation by writing "RUNNING" to
the freezer.state file
2) Userspace retries the freezing operation by writing "FROZEN" to
the freezer.state file (writing "FREEZING" is not legal
and returns EIO)
3) The tasks that blocked the cgroup from entering the "FROZEN"
state disappear from the cgroup's set of tasks.

Boot-time test for system suspend states (STR or standby). The generic
RTC framework triggers wakeup alarms, which are used to exit those states.
- Measures some aspects of suspend time ... this uses "jiffies" until
someone converts it to use a timebase that works properly even while
timer IRQs are disabled.
- Triggered by a command line parameter. By default nothing even
vaguely troublesome will happen, but "test_suspend=mem" will give
you a brief STR test during system boot. (Or you may need to use
"test_suspend=standby" instead, if your hardware needs that.)
This isn't without problems. It fires early enough during boot that for
example both PCMCIA and MMC stacks have misbehaved. The workaround in
those cases was to boot without such media cards inserted.

Xen save/restore needs bits of code enabled by PM_SLEEP, and PM_SLEEP
depends on PM. So make XEN_SAVE_RESTORE depend on PM and PM_SLEEP
depend on XEN_SAVE_RESTORE.

AFAICT pm_send_all is a nop when noone uses pm_register...
Hmm.. can we just force CONFIG_PM_LEGACY=n, and see what happens?
Or maybe this is better idea? It may break build somewhere, but it
should be easy to fix... (it builds here, i386 and x86-64).

When trying to debug a suspend failure I started implementing
PM_TRACE for powerpc. I then noticed that I'm debugging a suspend
failure and so PM_TRACE isn't useful at all, but thought that
nonetheless this could be useful in the future.
Basically, to support PM_TRACE, you add a Kconfig option that
selects PM_TRACE and provides the infrastructure as per the
help text of PM_TRACE.

Currently, there's a CONFIG_DISABLE_CONSOLE_SUSPEND that allows one to stop
the serial console from being suspended when the rest of the machine goes
to sleep. This is incredibly useful for debugging power management-related
things; however, having it as a compile-time option has proved to be
incredibly inconvenient for us (OLPC). There are plenty of times that we
want serial console to not suspend, but for the most part we'd like serial
console to be suspended.
This drops CONFIG_DISABLE_CONSOLE_SUSPEND, and replaces it with a kernel
boot parameter (no_console_suspend). By default, the serial console will
be suspended along with the rest of the system; by passing
'no_console_suspend' to the kernel during boot, serial console will remain
alive during suspend.
For now, this is pretty serial console specific; further fixes could be
applied to make this work for things like netconsole.

Dependencies of CONFIG_SUSPEND and CONFIG_HIBERNATION introduced by commit
296699de6bdc717189a331ab6bbe90e05c94db06 "Introduce CONFIG_SUSPEND for
suspend-to-Ram and standby" are incorrect, as they don't cover the facts that
(1) not all architectures support suspend and (2) SMP hibernation is only
possible on X86 and PPC64 (if CONFIG_PPC64_SWSUSP is set).

Introduce CONFIG_SUSPEND representing the ability to enter system sleep
states, such as the ACPI S3 state, and allow the user to choose SUSPEND
and HIBERNATION independently of each other.
Make HOTPLUG_CPU be selected automatically if SUSPEND or HIBERNATION has
been chosen and the kernel is intended for SMP systems.
Also, introduce CONFIG_PM_SLEEP which is automatically selected if
CONFIG_SUSPEND or CONFIG_HIBERNATION is set and use it to select the
code needed for both suspend and hibernation.
The top-level power management headers and the ACPI code related to
suspend and hibernation are modified to use the new definitions (the
changes in drivers/acpi/sleep/main.c are, mostly, moving code to reduce
the number of ifdefs).
There are many other files in which CONFIG_PM can be replaced with
CONFIG_PM_SLEEP or even with CONFIG_SUSPEND, but they can be updated in
the future.

In order to enable things like PM_TRACE, you're required to enable
PM_DEBUG, which sends a large spew of messages on boot, and often times can
overflow dmesg buffer.
Create new PM_VERBOSE and shift that to be the option that enables
