* [media] videodev2.h: fix copy-and-paste error in V4L2_MAP_XFER_FUNC_DEFAULTHans Verkuil2015-06-181-1/+1
| | | | | | | | The colorspace argument was compared against a V4L2_XFER_FUNC define instead of against a V4L2_COLORSPACE define, returning the wrong answer. Signed-off-by: Hans Verkuil <hans.verkuil@cisco.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@osg.samsung.com>
* [media] videodev2.h: add support for transfer functionsHans Verkuil2015-06-051-1/+40
| | | | | | | | | | | | | In the past the transfer function was implied by the colorspace. However, it is an independent entity in its own right. Add support for explicitly choosing the transfer function. This change will allow us to represent linear RGB (as is used by openGL), and it will make it easier to work with decoded video material since most codecs store the transfer function as a separate property as well. * [media] videodev2.h: add macros to map colorspace defaultsHans Verkuil2015-05-301-0/+30
| | | | | | | | | | | | The mapping of COLORSPACE_DEFAULT, YCBCR_ENC_DEFAULT or QUANTIZATION_DEFAULT to proper non-default values is fairly complex, and it is something that needs to be done both in the kernel and in userspace. So add macros that can do this conversion, making this available to both kernel and userspace. * [media] videodev2.h: add COLORSPACE_RAWHans Verkuil2015-05-301-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | V4L2_COLORSPACE_RAW is added for raw image formats where the picture is minimally processed and is in the internal colorspace of the sensor. This is typically used in digital cameras where the image processing is done later. Signed-off-by: Hans Verkuil <hans.verkuil@cisco.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@osg.samsung.com>
* [media] videodev2.h: add COLORSPACE_DEFAULTHans Verkuil2015-05-301-0/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | V4L2_COLORSPACE_DEFAULT is added so we have a specific define for the default case where applications do not set it but leave it to 0. In that case the driver will set the colorspace based on what it captures. This is already used, but we never had a define for the value 0. * [media] videodev2.h/v4l2-dv-timings.h: add V4L2_DV_FL_IS_CE_VIDEO flagHans Verkuil2015-04-081-0/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In the past the V4L2_DV_BT_STD_CEA861 standard bit was used to determine whether the format is a CE (Consumer Electronics) format or not. However, the 640x480p59.94 format is part of the CEA-861 standard, but it is *not* a CE video format. Add a new flag to make this explicit. This information is needed in order to determine the default R'G'B' encoding for the format: for CE video this is limited range (16-235) instead of full range (0-255). The header with all the timings has been updated with this new flag. | | | | | | | | | | | | Create a new flag that represent controls which its value needs to be passed to the driver even if it has not changed. * [media] v4l2_plane_pix_format: use __u32 bytesperline instead of __u16Hans Verkuil2015-04-021-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | While running v4l2-compliance tests on vivid I suddenly got errors due to a call to vmalloc_user with size 0 from vb2. Digging deeper into the cause I discovered that this was due to the fact that struct v4l2_plane_pix_format defines bytesperline as a __u16 instead of a __u32. The test I was running selected a format of 4 * 4096 by 4 * 2048 with a 32 bit pixelformat. So bytesperline was 4 * 4 * 4096 = 65536, which becomes 0 in a __u16. And bytesperline * height is suddenly 0 as well. While the vivid driver may be a virtual driver, it is to be expected that this limit will be hit for real hardware as well in the near future: 8k deep-color video will already reach it. The solution is to change the type to __u32. The only drivers besides vivid that use the multiplanar API are little-endian ARM and SH platforms (exynos, ti-vpe, vsp1), so this is safe. * [media] v4l: Support extending the v4l2_pix_format structureLaurent Pinchart2014-07-171-1/+14
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The v4l2_pix_format structure has no reserved field. It is embedded in the v4l2_framebuffer structure which has no reserved fields either, and in the v4l2_format structure which has reserved fields that were not previously required to be zeroed out by applications. To allow extending v4l2_pix_format, inline it in the v4l2_framebuffer structure, and use the priv field as a magic value to indicate that the application has set all v4l2_pix_format extended fields and zeroed all reserved fields following the v4l2_pix_format field in the v4l2_format structure. The availability of this API extension is reported to userspace through the new V4L2_CAP_EXT_PIX_FORMAT capability flag. Just checking that the priv field is still set to the magic value at [GS]_FMT return wouldn't be enough, as older kernels don't zero the priv field on return. To simplify the internal API towards drivers zero the extended fields and set the priv field to the magic value for applications not aware of the extensions. * [media] videodev2.h: add initial support for compound controlsHans Verkuil2014-07-171-2/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Compound controls are controls that can be used for compound and array types. This allows for more compound data structures to be used with the control framework. The existing V4L2_CTRL_FLAG_NEXT_CTRL flag will only enumerate non-compound controls, so a new V4L2_CTRL_FLAG_NEXT_COMPOUND flag is added to enumerate compound controls. Set both flags to enumerate any control (compound or not). Compound control types will start at V4L2_CTRL_COMPOUND_TYPES. In addition, any control that uses the new 'ptr' field or the existing 'string' field will have flag V4L2_CTRL_FLAG_HAS_PAYLOAD set. While not strictly necessary, adding that flag makes life for applications a lot simpler. If the flag is not set, then the control value is set through the value or value64 fields of struct v4l2_ext_control, otherwise a pointer points to the value. * [media] v4l: add new tuner types for SDRAntti Palosaari2014-03-051-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Define tuner types V4L2_TUNER_ADC and V4L2_TUNER_RF for SDR usage. ADC is used for setting sampling rate (sampling frequency) to SDR device. Another tuner type, named as V4L2_TUNER_RF, is possible RF tuner. Is is used to down-convert RF frequency to range ADC could sample. Having RF tuner is optional, whilst in practice it is almost always there. Also add checks to VIDIOC_G_FREQUENCY, VIDIOC_S_FREQUENCY and VIDIOC_ENUM_FREQ_BANDS only allow these two tuner types when device type is SDR (VFL_TYPE_SDR). For VIDIOC_G_FREQUENCY we do not check tuner type, instead override type with V4L2_TUNER_ADC in every case (requested by Hans in order to keep functionality in line with existing tuners and existing API does not specify it). Prohibit VIDIOC_S_HW_FREQ_SEEK explicitly when device type is SDR, as device cannot do hardware seek without a hardware demodulator.
