* fix file specification in commentsUwe Zeisberger2006-10-031-1/+1
| | | | | | | Many files include the filename at the beginning, serveral used a wrong one. Signed-off-by: Uwe Zeisberger <Uwe_Zeisberger@digi.com> Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@stusta.de>

* [PATCH] x86_64: bring back __read_mostly support to linux-2.6.17-rc2Eric Dumazet2006-04-201-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | It seems latest kernel has a wrong/missing __read_mostly implementation for x86_64 __read_mostly macro should be declared outside of #if CONFIG_X86_VSMP block Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <dada1@cosmosbay.com> Signed-off-by: Andi Kleen <ak@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
* [PATCH] Move read_mostly definition to asm/cache.hKyle McMartin2006-03-231-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Seems like needless clutter having a bunch of #if defined(CONFIG_$ARCH) in include/linux/cache.h. Move the per architecture section definition to asm/cache.h, and keep the if-not-defined dummy case in linux/cache.h to catch architectures which don't implement the section. Verified that symbols still go in .data.read_mostly on parisc, and the compile doesn't break. * [PATCH] x86_64: Inclusion of ScaleMP vSMP architecture patches - vsmp_alignRavikiran G Thirumalai2006-01-111-0/+12
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | vSMP specific alignment patch to 1. Define INTERNODE_CACHE_SHIFT for vSMP 2. Use this for alignment of critical structures 3. Use INTERNODE_CACHE_SHIFT for ARCH_MIN_TASKALIGN, and let the slab align task_struct allocations to the internode cacheline size 4. Introduce and use ARCH_MIN_MMSTRUCT_ALIGN for mm_struct slab allocations. * [PATCH] Kill L1_CACHE_SHIFT_MAXRavikiran G Thirumalai2006-01-081-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | Kill L1_CACHE_SHIFT from all arches. Since L1_CACHE_SHIFT_MAX is not used anymore with the introduction of INTERNODE_CACHE, kill L1_CACHE_SHIFT_MAX. * [PATCH] x86_64: Set ____cacheline_maxaligned_in_smp alignment to 128 bytesPaolo 'Blaisorblade' Giarrusso2005-11-141-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The current value was correct before the introduction of Intel EM64T support - but now L1_CACHE_SHIFT_MAX can be less than L1_CACHE_SHIFT, which _is_ funny! Between the few users of ____cacheline_maxaligned_in_smp, we also have (for example) rcu_ctrlblk, and struct zone, with zone->{lru_,}lock. I.e. we have a lot of excess cacheline bouncing on them. No correctness issues, obviously. So this could even be merged for 2.6.14 (I'm not a fan of this idea, though). Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
