* Remove dma_cache_(wback|inv|wback_inv) functionsRalf Baechle2007-10-171-6/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | dma_cache_(wback|inv|wback_inv) were the earliest attempt on a generalized cache managment API for I/O purposes. Originally it was basically the raw MIPS low level cache API exported to the entire world. The API has suffered from a lack of documentation, was not very widely used unlike it's more modern brothers and can easily be replaced by dma_cache_sync. So remove it rsp. turn the surviving bits back into an arch private API, as discussed on linux-arch. * fix alpha ISA supportIvan Kokshaysky2007-07-161-3/+10
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | isa_bus_to_virt() is still needed in a few places (lance.c, at least). When we switch the kernel to using -Werror-implicit-function-declaration, the lack of isa_bus_to_virt() breaks alpha allmodconfig builds. Add isa_bus_to_virt() and deprecate the ezisting ISA APIs, though it might be better to define these functions as BUG(), since virt_to_bus/bus_to_virt just do wrong things on a number of machines. * alpha: fixes for specific machine typesIvan Kokshaysky2007-04-171-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Files: arch/alpha/kernel/core_mcpcia.c arch/alpha/kernel/sys_rawhide.c include/asm-alpha/core_mcpcia.h Determine correct hose configuration; RAWHIDE family can have 2 or 4 hoses, so make sure non-existent hoses are ignored. arch/alpha/kernel/err_titan.c Supply a needed #include <asm/irq_regs.h> arch/alpha/kernel/module.c Add some useful output to the relocation overflow messages. arch/alpha/kernel/sys_noritake.c Supply necessary noritake_end_irq() to correct interrupt handling. This fixes a problem first noted by hangs during boot probing with a DE500-BA TULIP NIC present. arch/alpha/kernel/sys_sio.c Correct saving of original PIRQ register (PCI IRQ routing); change default PIRQ setting to leave PCI IRQs 9 and 14 free to be used for sound (Multia) and IDE (any), respectively. include/asm-alpha/io.h Supply the "isa_virt_to_bus" routine. * [PATCH] kill eth_io_copy_and_sum()Al Viro2007-02-091-9/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | On all targets that sucker boils down to memcpy_fromio(sbk->data, from, len). The function name is highly misguiding (it _never_ does any checksums), the last argument is just a noise and simply expanding the call to memcpy_fromio() gives shorter and more readable source. For a lot of reasons it has almost no remaining users, so it's better to just outright kill it. * [PATCH] Consolidate check_signatureMatthew Wilcox2006-10-111-13/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | There's nothing arch-specific about check_signature(), so move it to <linux/io.h>. Use a cross between the Alpha and i386 implementations as the generic one. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
