| * [ACPI] Bind PCI devices with ACPI devicesDavid Shaohua Li2005-07-111-0/+21
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Implement the framework for binding physical devices with ACPI devices. A physical bus like PCI bus should create a 'acpi_bus_type', with: .find_device: For device which has parent such as normal PCI devices. .find_bridge: It's for special devices, such as PCI root bridge or IDE controller. Such devices generally haven't a parent or ->bus. We use the special method to get an ACPI handle. Uses new field in struct device: firmware_data http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4277 Signed-off-by: David Shaohua Li <shaohua.li@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com>
* | [PATCH] acpi bridge hotadd: Allow ACPI .add and .start operations to be done ↵Rajesh Shah2005-06-271-1/+16
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | independently Create new interfaces to recursively add an acpi namespace object to the acpi device list, and recursively start the namespace object. This is needed for ACPI based hotplug of a root bridge hierarchy where the add operation must be performed first and the start operation must be performed separately after the hot-plugged devices have been properly configured. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
