* iwlagn: merge eeprom access into single fileWey-Yi Guy2011-09-191-299/+0
| | | | | | | | After driver split and no need to support legacy devices, there is no reason we need to separate the NVM access into different files, merge those. Signed-off-by: Wey-Yi Guy <wey-yi.w.guy@intel.com> Signed-off-by: John W. Linville <linville@tuxdriver.com>
* iwlagn: Rename iwlcore prefixWey-Yi Guy2011-08-291-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | There are number of functions with "iwlcore_" prefix which not feels right, rename those to "iwl_". No functional changes by making the renames. Signed-off-by: Wey-Yi Guy <wey-yi.w.guy@intel.com> Signed-off-by: John W. Linville <linville@tuxdriver.com>
* iwlagn: remove indirection for eeprom_query_addrFry, Donald H2011-07-111-3/+3
| | | | | | | | Not needed since the driver split. Eliminate redundant routine. Signed-off-by: Don Fry <donald.h.fry@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Wey-Yi Guy <wey-yi.w.guy@intel.com> Signed-off-by: John W. Linville <linville@tuxdriver.com>
* iwlagn: Sanity check for 11n capabilityWey-Yi Guy2011-06-111-0/+5
| | | | | | Make sure when we say 11n enable, we really support it. Signed-off-by: Wey-Yi Guy <wey-yi.w.guy@intel.com>
* iwlagn: use sku capabilities information from EEPROMWey-Yi Guy2011-06-111-8/+1
| | | | | | Instead of having the separated define, use the sku capabilities in EEPROM Signed-off-by: Wey-Yi Guy <wey-yi.w.guy@intel.com>
* iwlagn: semaphore and calib cleanupDon Fry2011-04-301-40/+1
| | | | | | | | | All agn devices use the same eeprom semaphore and calib version routines. Delete the indirection and move the semaphore routines to where they are used and make static. Signed-off-by: Don Fry <donald.h.fry@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Wey-Yi Guy <wey-yi.w.guy@intel.com>
* iwlagn: move IO functions out of lineJohannes Berg2011-04-071-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This generates a massive reduction in module size: with debug: text data bss dec hex filename 670300 13136 420 683856 a6f50 iwlagn.ko (before) 388347 13136 408 401891 621e3 iwlagn.ko (after) without debug: text data bss dec hex filename 528575 13072 420 542067 84573 iwlagn.ko (before) 294192 13072 408 307672 4b1d8 iwlagn.ko (after) This also removes all the IO debug functionality since it can easily be replaced by tracing, and makes the code unnecessarily complex. I haven't done any CPU utilisation measurements, but given that the hotpaths don't use much IO it is not likely to have a negative impact; in fact, the size reduction will reduce cache pressure which possibly improves performance. Finally, an unused function or two were removed. Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Wey-Yi Guy <wey-yi.w.guy@intel.com> Signed-off-by: John W. * iwlwifi: don't read sku information from EEPROM for 4965Wey-Yi Guy2011-01-211-4/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | For all the new devices, the sku information should read from EEPROM but for legacy devices such as 4965, appearly the EEPROM does not contain the necessary information. so skip the read from EEPROM and go back to use software configuration. Linville <linville@tuxdriver.com>
* iwlwifi: fix valid chain reading from EEPROMWey-Yi Guy2011-01-181-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | When read valid tx/rx chains from EEPROM, there is a bug to use the tx chain value for both tx and rx, the result of this cause low receive throughput on 1x2 devices becuase rx will only utilize single chain instead of two chains Signed-off-by: Wey-Yi Guy <wey-yi.w.guy@intel.com> Signed-off-by: John W. Linville <linville@tuxdriver.com>
* iwlagn: More detail tx power loggingWey-Yi Guy2010-12-131-10/+30
| | | | | | | For enhanced tx power table in EEPROM, add more detail logging to help debugging Signed-off-by: Wey-Yi Guy <wey-yi.w.guy@intel.com>
* iwlwifi: use IWL_DEBUG_EEPROM for EEPROM related infoWey-Yi Guy2010-12-131-1/+1
| | | | | | | For logging EEPROM related info, instead of using IWL_DEBUG_INFO, use the dedicated logging (IWL_DEBUG_EEPROM) for easier debugging Signed-off-by: Wey-Yi Guy <wey-yi.w.guy@intel.com>
* iwlagn: remove old EEPROM TX power readingJohannes Berg2010-12-131-263/+1
| | | | | | | | | | This removes the old TX power reading code, it isn't necessary since the new code is able to read all the various EEPROM layouts due to relying on information contained in the EEPROM. Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Wey-Yi Guy <wey-yi.w.guy@intel.com>
* iwlagn: implement layout-agnostic EEPROM readingJohannes Berg2010-12-131-1/+84
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | The current EEPROM reading code has some layout assumptions that now turned out to be false with some newer versions of the EEPROM. Luckily, we can avoid all such assumptions by using data in the EEPROM itself, so implement using that. However, for risk mitigation purposes, keep the old reading code for current hardware for now. * iwlagn: rename enhanced txpower fieldsJohannes Berg2010-12-131-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | Some fields we didn't previously use from the enhanced TX power structure will be needed in the next patch, so rename them to their correct names to be able to use them and change code reading them accordingly. Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Wey-Yi Guy <wey-yi.w.guy@intel.com>
* iwlwifi: use antenna information in EEPROMWey-Yi Guy2010-11-241-0/+20
| | | | | | | | | | The valid tx/rx antenna information is part of EEPROM, so use it to configure the device. For few cases, the EEPROM did not reflect the correct antenna, but it is too late to modify the EEPROM, so overwrite with .cfg parameters Signed-off-by: Wey-Yi Guy <wey-yi.w.guy@intel.com>
* iwlagn: use SKU information in the EEPROMWey-Yi Guy2010-11-161-0/+21
| | | | | | EEPROM contain the SKU information for the device, use it. Signed-off-by: Wey-Yi Guy <wey-yi.w.guy@intel.com>
* iwlwifi: move agn only eeprom functions to separate fileWey-Yi Guy2010-10-141-0/+454
Some of the functions in iwl-eeprom.c file are for agn devices only, Those functions do not have to be part of iwlcore.ko, so move those to iwl-agn-eeprom.c file. Signed-off-by: Wey-Yi Guy <wey-yi.w.guy@intel.com>
