* drivers: Kill now superfluous ->last_rx storesEric Dumazet2009-09-021-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | The generic packet receive code takes care of setting netdev->last_rx when necessary, for the sake of the bonding ARP monitor. Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <eric.dumazet@gmail.com> Acked-by: Neil Horman <nhorman@txudriver.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* netdev: convert bulk of drivers to netdev_tx_tStephen Hemminger2009-09-011-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | In a couple of cases collapse some extra code like: int retval = NETDEV_TX_OK; ... return retval; into return NETDEV_TX_OK; Signed-off-by: Stephen Hemminger <shemminger@vyatta.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

* smsc9420: fix big endian rx checksum offloadSteve Glendinning2009-03-201-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | The cpu_to_le16 here looks suspicious to me, I don't think we need it because put_unaligned_le16 also does this. I don't currently have any big endian hardware with a PCI bus available to test on, so I haven't been able to verify this. | * smsc9420: handle magic field of ethtool_eepromSteve Glendinning2009-02-201-0/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | ethtool.h says the driver should set the magic field in get_eeprom and verify it in set_eeprom. This patch adds this functionality using an arbitary driver-specific magic value constant (0x9420). Signed-off-by: Steve Glendinning <steve.glendinning@smsc.com> Signed-off-by: David S. | * smsc9420: fix another postfixed timeoutSteve Glendinning2009-02-201-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Roel Kluin recently fixed several instances where variables reach -1, but 0 is tested afterwards. This patch fixes another, so the timeout will be correctly detected and a warning printed. Signed-off-by: Steve Glendinning <steve.glendinning@smsc.com> Signed-off-by: David S. | * smsc9420: fix interrupt signalling test failuresSteve Glendinning2009-01-291-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | smsc9420 performs an interrupt signalling test when the interface is brought up. The current code mistakenly sets its test flag to false AFTER enabling the software interrupt source, making failure quite likely. This patch changes the code to set the test flag BEFORE enabling interrupts. I've also removed an smp_wmb because the following spinlock provides an implicit memory barrier. * | net: Remove redundant NAPI functionsBen Hutchings2009-01-211-2/+2
|/ | | | | | | | | | | Following the removal of the unused struct net_device * parameter from the NAPI functions named *netif_rx_* in commit 908a7a1, they are exactly equivalent to the corresponding *napi_* functions and are therefore redundant. * netdev: add missing set_mac_address hookStephen Hemminger2009-01-111-0/+1
| | | | | | | | Many drivers lost the ability to set ethernet address accidently during the net_device_ops conversion. Signed-off-by: Stephen Hemminger <shemminger@vyatta.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* net: Remove unused netdev arg from some NAPI interfaces.Neil Horman2008-12-221-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | When the napi api was changed to separate its 1:1 binding to the net_device struct, the netif_rx_[prep|schedule|complete] api failed to remove the now vestigual net_device structure parameter. This patch cleans up that api by properly removing it.. Signed-off-by: Neil Horman <nhorman@tuxdriver.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* net: Refactor full duplex flow control resolutionSteve Glendinning2008-12-161-23/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | These 4 drivers have identical full duplex flow control resolution functions. This patch changes them all to use one common function. The function in question decides whether a device should enable TX and RX flow control in a standard way (IEEE 802.3-2005 table 28B-3), so this should also be useful for other drivers. * smsc9420: add ethtool register dump supportSteve Glendinning2008-12-151-0/+25
| | | | | | | | | | | This patch adds support for SMSC's LAN9420 PCI ethernet controller to ethtool's dump registers (-d) command. This patch is for use with an accompanying ethtool patch, which decodes the register dump. Signed-off-by: Steve Glendinning <steve.glendinning@smsc.com> Signed-off-by: David S.
