* net: ethernet: drop owner assignment from platform_driversWolfram Sang2014-10-201-1/+0
| | | | | | | A platform_driver does not need to set an owner, it will be populated by the driver core. Signed-off-by: Wolfram Sang <wsa@the-dreams.de>
* drivers/net: delete non-required instances of include <linux/init.h>Paul Gortmaker2014-01-161-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | None of these files are actually using any __init type directives and hence don't need to include <linux/init.h>. Most are just a left over from __devinit and __cpuinit removal, or simply due to code getting copied from one driver to the next. This covers everything under drivers/net except for wireless, which has been submitted separately. Signed-off-by: Paul Gortmaker <paul.gortmaker@windriver.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* net: ethernet: remove unnecessary platform_set_drvdata()Jingoo Han2013-05-271-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The driver core clears the driver data to NULL after device_release or on probe failure, since commit 0998d0631001288a5974afc0b2a5f568bcdecb4d (device-core: Ensure drvdata = NULL when no driver is bound). Thus, it is not needed to manually clear the device driver data to NULL. * s6gmac: fix error return code in s6gmac_probe()Wei Yongjun2013-03-221-0/+1
| | | | | | | | Fix to return a negative error code from the error handling case instead of 0, as returned elsewhere in this function. Signed-off-by: Wei Yongjun <yongjun_wei@trendmicro.com.cn> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* net: s6gmac: Use module_platform_driver()Sachin Kamat2013-03-201-14/+1
| | | | | | | | module_platform_driver macro removes some boilerplate and simplifies the code. Signed-off-by: Sachin Kamat <sachin.kamat@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* net: phy: remove flags argument from phy_{attach, connect, connect_direct}Florian Fainelli2013-01-141-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The flags argument of the phy_{attach,connect,connect_direct} functions is then used to assign a struct phy_device dev_flags with its value. All callers but the tg3 driver pass the flag 0, which results in the underlying PHY drivers in drivers/net/phy/ not being able to actually use any of the flags they would set in dev_flags. This patch gets rid of the flags argument, and passes phydev->dev_flags to the internal PHY library call phy_attach_direct() such that drivers which actually modify a phy device dev_flags get the value preserved for use by the underlying phy driver. * net/ethernet: remove __dev* attributesBill Pemberton2012-12-031-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As result the __dev* markings will be going away. Remove use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, __devinitconst, and __devexit.
