* drivers/net/ethernet/natsemi/xtsonic.c: fix error return codePeter Senna Tschudin2012-10-071-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The function sonic_probe1() return 0 for success and negative value for most of its internal tests failures. There is one exception that is error case going to out:. For this error case, the function abort its success execution path, but returns non negative value, making it difficult for a caller function to notice the error. This patch fixes the error case that do not return negative value. This was found by Coccinelle, but the code change was made by hand. This patch is not robot generated. A simplified version of the semantic match that finds this problem is as follows: (http://coccinelle.lip6.fr/) // <smpl> ( if@p1 (\(ret < 0\|ret != 0\)) { ... return ret; } | ret@p1 = 0 ) ... when != ret = e1 when != &ret *if(...) { ... when != ret = e2 when forall return ret; } // </smpl> Signed-off-by: Peter Senna Tschudin <peter.senna@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. * drivers/net: delete all code/drivers depending on CONFIG_MCAPaul Gortmaker2012-05-172-19/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The support for CONFIG_MCA is being removed, since the 20 year old hardware simply isn't capable of meeting today's software demands on CPU and memory resources. This commit removes any MCA specific net drivers, and removes any MCA specific probe/support code from drivers that were doing a dual ISA/MCA role. Cc: "David S. * | net/ethernet: convert drivers/net/ethernet/* to use module_platform_driver()Axel Lin2011-11-293-36/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch converts the drivers in drivers/net/ethernet/* to use the module_platform_driver() macro which makes the code smaller and a bit simpler. * i825xx:xscale:8390:freescale: Fix Kconfig dependanciesJeff Kirsher2011-11-041-1/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | i825xx and xscale are "sub" Kconfigs to NET_VENDOR_INTEL, so NET_VENDOR_INTEL should contain ALL the dependencies of the "sub" Kconfigs. Same with 8390 is a "sub" Kconfig to NET_VENDOR_NATSEMI, so NET_VENDOR_NATSEMI needs to contains ALL the dependencies. Freescale Kconfig only had fs_enet as a sub Kconfig, and already contained the needed dependencies, just cleaned up the dependencies. * net: add skb frag size accessorsEric Dumazet2011-10-191-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | To ease skb->truesize sanitization, its better to be able to localize all references to skb frags size. * macmace, macsonic: cleanupFinn Thain2011-09-211-9/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We check ether_type before registering the platform device in arch/m68k/mac/config.c. Doing the same test again in the driver is redundant so remove it. Multiple probes should not happen since the conversion to platform devices, so lose that test too. Then macmace.c need not include macintosh.h, so remove that and irq.h and include linux/interrupt.h explicitly. Tested on PowerBook 520, Quadra 660av, LC 630. * drivers/net/ethernet/*: Enabled vendor Kconfig optionsJeff Kirsher2011-08-271-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Based on finds for Stephen Rothwell, where current defconfig's enable a ethernet driver and it is not compiled due to the newly added NET_VENDOR_* component of Kconfig. This patch enables all the "new" Kconfig options so that current defconfig's will continue to compile the expected drivers. In addition, by enabling all the new Kconfig options does not add any un-expected options. CC: Stephen Rothwll <sfc@canb.auug.org.au> Signed-off-by: Jeff Kirsher <jeffrey.t.kirsher@intel.com>

Move the National Semi-conductor drivers into drivers/net/ethernet/natsemi/ and make the necessary Kconfig and Makefile changes. Also moved the 8390 (National Semi-conductor) devices as a sub-menu of National Semi-conductor devices. - moved the ibmlana driver as well into this directory since it is a "SONIC" driver CC: Alfred Arnold <alfred.arnold@lancom.de> CC: Thomas Bogendoerfer <tsbogend@alpha.franken.de> CC: Harald Welte <laforge@gnumonks.org> CC: Tim Hockin <thockin@hockin.org> CC: <linux-ns83820@kvack.org> CC: Kevin Chea <kchea@yahoo.com> CC: Marc Gauthier <marc@linux-xtensa.org> CC: Chris Zankel <chris@zankel.net> Signed-off-by: Jeff Kirsher <jeffrey.t.kirsher@intel.com> Acked-by: Marc Gauthier <marc@tensilica.com>
