* netdev: add missing set_mac_address hookStephen Hemminger2009-01-111-0/+1
| | | | | | | | Many drivers lost the ability to set ethernet address accidently during the net_device_ops conversion. Signed-off-by: Stephen Hemminger <shemminger@vyatta.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* 8390/8390p: Fix compat netdev ops handling.David S. Miller2008-12-151-1/+10
| | | | | | | | | | Based upon a report from Randy Dunlap. The compat netdev ops assignments need to happen in 8390.c and 8390p.c, not lib8390.c, as only the type specific code can assign the correct function pointers. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* 8390: add common net_device opsStephen Hemminger2008-11-251-0/+39
| | | | | | | | | | | | Fix the defactoring of ei_XXX functions in 8390 and 8390p. Remove the tx_timeout hack since no driver including the 3c503 overrides tx_timeout at this time, looks like a legacy thing. Also, since several drivers all have same hooks, provide common netdev_ops. Signed-off-by: Stephen Hemminger <shemminger@vyatta.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

| | | | | | | Fix all errors and warnings reported by checkpatch.pl Signed-off-by: Gustavo F. Padovan <gustavo@las.ic.unicamp.br> Signed-off-by: Jeff Garzik <jgarzik@redhat.com>
* drivers/net: Remove 'return' of void function NS8390p_init()Gustavo F. Padovan2008-08-071-1/+1
| | | | | | | We don't need this into a void function. Signed-off-by: Gustavo F. Padovan <gustavo@las.ic.unicamp.br> Signed-off-by: Jeff Garzik <jgarzik@redhat.com>
* 8390: Split 8390 support into a pausing and a non pausing driver coreAlan Cox2008-07-041-0/+66
Only a few ISA controllers need the pausing version of the 8390 core while PCMCIA, later ISA and PCI do not. More importantly the ISA delays can break non ISA boxes so we must use a different build of 8390.c for the two sets of controllers. No changes since last time as all the points of concerns raised proved to be invalid Signed-off-by: Alan Cox <alan@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Randy Dunlap <randy.dunlap@oracle.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: Jeff Garzik <jgarzik@redhat.com>
