* mfd: sta2x11: Use platform_register/unregister_drivers()Thierry Reding2016-01-111-26/+10
| | | | | | | | | These new helpers simplify implementing multi-driver modules and properly handle failure to register one driver by unregistering all previously registered drivers. Signed-off-by: Thierry Reding <treding@nvidia.com> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org>
* mfd: drop owner assignment from platform_driversWolfram Sang2014-10-201-4/+0
| | | | | | | A platform_driver does not need to set an owner, it will be populated by the driver core. Signed-off-by: Wolfram Sang <wsa@the-dreams.de>
* mfd: sta2x11-mfd: Use named constants for pci_power_t valuesJulia Lawall2014-01-211-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | If nothing more than to improve code readability. The semantic patch that makes this change is as follows: (http://coccinelle.lip6.fr/) // <smpl> @@ expression pdev; @@ pci_set_power_state(pdev, - 0 + PCI_D0 ) // </smpl> Signed-off-by: Julia Lawall <Julia.Lawall@lip6.fr> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org>
* mfd: sta2x11-mfd: Fix return value check in sta2x11_mfd_platform_probe()Wei Yongjun2014-01-211-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | In case of error, the function devm_regmap_init_mmio() returns ERR_PTR() and never returns NULL. The NULL test in the return value check should be replaced with IS_ERR(). Signed-off-by: Wei Yongjun <yongjun_wei@trendmicro.com.cn> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org>

* Drivers: mfd: remove __dev* attributes.Greg Kroah-Hartman2013-01-031-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As a result, the __dev* markings need to be removed. This change removes the use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, __devinitconst, and __devexit from these drivers. Based on patches originally written by Bill Pemberton, but redone by me in order to handle some of the coding style issues better, by hand. We have several new drivers, most of the time coming with their sub devices drivers: - Austria Microsystem's AS3711 - Nano River's viperboard - TI's TPS80031, AM335x TS/ADC, - Realtek's MMC/memstick card reader - Nokia's retu We also got some notable cleanups and improvements: - tps6586x got converted to IRQ domains. - tps65910 and tps65090 moved to the regmap IRQ API. - STMPE is now Device Tree aware. - A general twl6040 and twl-core cleanup, with moves to the regmap I/O and IRQ APIs and a conversion to the recently added PWM framework. - sta2x11 gained regmap support. Then the rest is mostly tiny cleanups and fixes, among which we have Mark's wm5xxx and wm8xxx patchset." Far amount of annoying but largely trivial conflicts. Many due to __devinit/exit removal, others due to one or two of the new drivers also having come in through another tree. * tag 'mfd-3.8-1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/sameo/mfd-2.6: (119 commits) mfd: tps6507x: Convert to devm_kzalloc mfd: stmpe: Update DT support for stmpe driver mfd: wm5102: Add readback of DSP status 3 register mfd: arizona: Log if we fail to create the primary IRQ domain mfd: tps80031: MFD_TPS80031 needs to select REGMAP_IRQ mfd: tps80031: Add terminating entry for tps80031_id_table mfd: sta2x11: Fix potential NULL pointer dereference in __sta2x11_mfd_mask() mfd: wm5102: Add tuning for revision B mfd: arizona: Defer patch initialistation until after first device boot mfd: tps65910: Fix wrong ack_base register mfd: tps65910: Remove unused data mfd: stmpe: Get rid of irq_invert_polarity mfd: ab8500-core: Fix invalid free of devm_ allocated data mfd: wm5102: Mark DSP memory regions as volatile mfd: wm5102: Correct default for LDO1_CONTROL_2 mfd: arizona: Register haptics devices mfd: wm8994: Make current device behaviour the default mfd: tps65090: MFD_TPS65090 needs to select REGMAP_IRQ mfd: Fix stmpe.c build when OF is not enabled mfd: jz4740-adc: Use devm_kzalloc ...

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The lock is used to implement atomic operations on each platform device's registers, so it looks reasonable having one lock per device instead of one common lock for all the devices belonging to the same sta2x11 instance. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | A couple of predefined clocks (mux and gated) need to be initialized with the virtual address of the clock's controlling register and the address of a spinlock used to protect against races. | * mfd: sta2x11-mfd: Add apb-soc regs driver and factor out common codeDavide Ciminaghi2012-11-201-109/+241
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | A driver for the apb-soc registers is needed by the clock infrastructure code to configure and control clocks on the sta2x11 chip. Since some of the functions in sta2x11-mfd.c were almost identical for the two existing platform devices, the following changes have been performed to avoid further code duplication while adding the apb-soc-regs driver: * The sctl_regs and apbreg_regs fields in struct sta2x11_mfd have been turned into just one array of pointers accessed by device index. * Platform probe methods have become one-liners invoking a common probe with the device's index as second parameter. * For loops have been inserted where the same operations were performed for each of the two bars of a pci device. * The apbreg_mask and sctl_mask functions were almost identical, so they were turned into inline functions invoking a common __sta2x11_mfd_mask() with the platform device's index as last parameter. To do this, enum sta2x11_mfd_plat_dev has been declared in sta2x11-mfd.h and more device types have been added to it. * mfd: core: Push irqdomain mapping out into devicesMark Brown2012-09-151-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Currently the MFD core supports remapping MFD cell interrupts using an irqdomain but only if the MFD is being instantiated using device tree and only if the device tree bindings use the pattern of registering IPs in the device tree with compatible properties. This will be actively harmful for drivers which support non-DT platforms and use this pattern for their DT bindings as it will mean that the core will silently change remapping behaviour and it is also limiting for drivers which don't do DT with this particular pattern. There is also a potential fragility if there are interrupts not associated with MFD cells and all the cells are omitted from the device tree for some reason. Instead change the code to take an IRQ domain as an optional argument, allowing drivers to take the decision about the parent domain for their interrupts. The one current user of this feature is ab8500-core, it has the domain lookup pushed out into the driver.
