* [PATCH] Remove old HW RNG supportMichael Buesch2006-06-261-698/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch series replaces the old non-generic Hardware Random Number Generator support by a fully generic RNG API. This makes it possible to register additional RNGs from modules. With this patch series applied, Laptops with a bcm43xx chip (PowerBook) have a HW RNG available now. Additionally two new RNG drivers are added for the "ixp4xx" and "omap" devices. (Written by Deepak Saxena). This patch series includes the old patches by Deepak Saxena. The old x86-rng driver has beed split. The userspace RNG daemon can later be updated to select the RNG through /sys/class/misc/hw_random/ for convenience. For now it is sufficient to use cat and echo -n on the sysfs attributes. * [PATCH] Add missing ifdef for VIA RNG codeMark Brown2006-03-031-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | Almost all the code for the VIA RNG is guarded with __i386__ #ifdefs, the only exception being the enumeration of RNG types which is used to index into the rng_vector ops array. This patch adds an ifdef around that for consistency and since the guard makes a difference when adding new RNG types on non-i386 hardware. * [PATCH] PCI: clean up dynamic pci id logicGreg Kroah-Hartman2005-07-011-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The dynamic pci id logic has been bothering me for a while, and now that I started to look into how to move some of this to the driver core, I thought it was time to clean it all up. It ends up making the code smaller, and easier to follow, and fixes a few bugs at the same time (dynamic ids were not being matched everywhere, and so could be missed on some call paths for new devices, semaphore not needed to be grabbed when adding a new id and calling the driver core, etc.) I also renamed the function pci_match_device() to pci_match_id() as that's what it really does. * Linux-2.6.12-rc2v2.6.12-rc2Linus Torvalds2005-04-161-0/+630
Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
