* sparc:cleanup unused code in smp_32.hKefeng Wang2013-03-311-4/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | After genirq and generic clockevent support at sparc32, smp4m_irq_rotate(), prof_multiplier() and prof_counter() are no longer used and should be removed. Find more info from commit 6baa9b20 & 62f08283. Signed-off-by: Kefeng Wang <wangkefeng.wang@huawei.com> Acked-by: Sam Ravnborg <sam@ravnborg.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* sparc:remove unused declaration smp_boot_cpus()Kefeng Wang2013-03-311-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | smp_boot_cpus() was replaced smp_prepare_cpus() long ago, and it no longer needed, so delete it. Signed-off-by: Kefeng Wang <wangkefeng.wang@huawei.com> Acked-by: Sam Ravnborg <sam@ravnborg.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

* sparc32: remove runtime btfix supportSam Ravnborg2012-05-141-1/+0

* sparc32: move smp ipi to method opsSam Ravnborg2012-05-141-13/+32
| | | | | | | | | | | I ended up renaming set_cpu_int to send_ipi to be consistent all way around. send_ipi was moved to the *_smp.c files so we could call the relevant method direct, without any _ops indirection. * sparc32: Implement hard_smp_processor_id() via instruction patching.David S. Miller2012-05-141-42/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | This is the last non-trivial user of btfixup. Like sparc64, use a special patch section to resolve the various implementations of how to read the current CPU's ID when we don't have current_thread_info()->cpu necessarily available. * sparc: convert old cpumask API into new oneKOSAKI Motohiro2011-05-161-5/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Adapt new API. Almost change is trivial, most important change are to remove following like =operator. cpumask_t cpu_mask = *mm_cpumask(mm); cpus_allowed = current->cpus_allowed; Because cpumask_var_t is =operator unsafe. These usage might prevent kernel core improvement. No functional change. Signed-off-by: KOSAKI Motohiro <kosaki.motohiro@jp.fujitsu.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* sparc32: implement SMP IPIs using the generic functionsDaniel Hellstrom2011-05-161-13/+9
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The current sparc32 SMP IPI generation is implemented the cross call function. The cross call function uses IRQ15 the NMI, this is has the effect that IPIs will interrupt IRQ critical areas and hang the system. Typically on/after spin_lock_irqsave calls can be aborted. The cross call functionality must still exist to flush cache/TLBS. This patch provides CPU models a custom way to implement generation of IPIs on the generic code's request. The typical approach is to generate an IRQ for each IPI case. After this patch each sparc32 SMP CPU model needs to implement IPIs in order to function properly. * sparc32: add irq + smp declarations to headersSam Ravnborg2011-03-161-0/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In preparation for cleaning up a number of files add declarations for irq and smp related data/functions to the relevant headers. This showed that the extern declaration of cputypval differed in the two files where it was used. As cputypval is defined like this: cputypval: .asciz "sun4c" the correct representation is a char array. Fix users to use the new declaration. * cpumask: centralize cpu_online_map and cpu_possible_mapRusty Russell2008-12-131-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Impact: cleanup Each SMP arch defines these themselves. Move them to a central location. Twists: 1) Some archs (m32, parisc, s390) set possible_map to all 1, so we add a CONFIG_INIT_ALL_POSSIBLE for this rather than break them. 2) mips and sparc32 '#define cpu_possible_map phys_cpu_present_map'. Those archs simply have phys_cpu_present_map replaced everywhere. 3) Alpha defined cpu_possible_map to cpu_present_map; this is tricky so I just manipulate them both in sync. 4) IA64, cris and m32r have gratuitous 'extern cpumask_t cpu_possible_map' declarations. * sparc, sparc64: use arch/sparc/includeSam Ravnborg2008-07-271-0/+173
The majority of this patch was created by the following script: *** ASM=arch/sparc/include/asm mkdir -p $ASM git mv include/asm-sparc64/ftrace.h $ASM git rm include/asm-sparc64/* git mv include/asm-sparc/* $ASM sed -ie 's/asm-sparc64/asm/g' $ASM/* sed -ie 's/asm-sparc/asm/g' $ASM/* *** The rest was an update of the top-level Makefile to use sparc for header files when sparc64 is being build. And a small fixlet to pick up the correct unistd.h from sparc64 code. Signed-off-by: Sam Ravnborg <sam@ravnborg.org>
