* mv643xx_eth: convert to use the Marvell Orion MDIO driverFlorian Fainelli2013-03-221-0/+20
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch converts the Marvell MV643XX ethernet driver to use the Marvell Orion MDIO driver. As a result, PowerPC and ARM platforms registering the Marvell MV643XX ethernet driver are also updated to register a Marvell Orion MDIO driver. This driver voluntarily overlaps with the Marvell Ethernet shared registers because it will use a subset of this shared register (shared_base + 0x4 to shared_base + 0x84). The Ethernet driver is also updated to look up for a PHY device using the Orion MDIO bus driver. For ARM and PowerPC we register a single instance of the "mvmdio" driver in the system like it used to be done with the use of the "shared_smi" platform_data cookie on ARM. Note that it is safe to register the mvmdio driver only for the "ge00" instance of the driver because this "ge00" interface is guaranteed to always be explicitely registered by consumers of arch/arm/plat-orion/common.c and other instances (ge01, ge10 and ge11) were all pointing their shared_smi to ge00. For PowerPC the in-tree Device Tree Source files mention only one MV643XX ethernet MAC instance so the MDIO bus driver is registered only when id == 0. * powerpc: Disable mv643xx Ethernet port 0 on PegasosGabriel Paubert2009-02-111-55/+17
| | | | | | | | | After the last changes, the mv643xx_eth driver now detects a spurious interface on port 0. Since only port 1 is actually connected to a PHY, remove its description. Signed-off-by: Gabriel Paubert <paubert@iram.es> Signed-off-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org>
* mv643xx_eth: get rid of static variables, allow multiple instancesLennert Buytenhek2008-04-281-0/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | Move mv643xx_eth's static state (ethernet register block base address and MII management interface spinlock) into a struct hanging off the shared platform device. This is necessary to support chips that contain multiple mv643xx_eth silicon blocks. * [POWERPC] Fix Section mismatch warningsLi Yang2007-05-231-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | This patch fix the following Section mismatch warnings in powerpc code. WARNING: arch/powerpc/platforms/built-in.o - Section mismatch: reference to .init.data:mv643xx_eth_pd_devs from .text between 'mv643xx_eth_add_pds' (at offset 0x9ed2) and 'gg2_read_config' WARNING: arch/powerpc/platforms/built-in.o - Section mismatch: reference to .init.data:mv643xx_eth_pd_devs from .text between 'mv643xx_eth_add_pds' (at offset 0x9ed6) and 'gg2_read_config' WARNING: arch/powerpc/platforms/built-in.o - Section mismatch: reference to .init.text:note_scsi_host from __ksymtab between '__ksymtab_note_scsi_host' (at offset 0x8) and '__ksymtab_sys_ctrler' Signed-off-by: Li Yang <leoli@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* mv643xx_eth: Place explicit port number in mv643xx_eth_platform_dataDale Farnsworth2007-03-061-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | We were using the platform_device.id field to identify which ethernet port is used for mv643xx_eth device. This is not generally correct. It will be incorrect, for example, if a hardware platform uses a single port but not the first port. Here, we add an explicit port_number field to struct mv643xx_eth_platform_data. This makes the mv643xx_eth_platform_data structure required, but that isn't an issue since all users currently provide it already. * [PATCH] powerpc: trivial: modify comments to refer to new location of filesJon Mason2006-02-101-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | This patch removes all self references and fixes references to files in the now defunct arch/ppc64 tree. I think this accomplises everything wanted, though there might be a few references I missed. Signed-off-by: Jon Mason <jdmason@us.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>

* [PATCH] chrp_pegasos_eth: Added Marvell Discovery II SRAM supportNicolas DET2005-10-291-6/+118
| | | | | | | | | | | Add proper entry to support the Marvell MV64361 (Marvell Discovery II) SRAM. This feature may be used by the mv643xx_eth driver. Signed-off-by: Nicolas DET <det.nicolas@free.fr> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>

SMP still needs more work but UP gets as far as starting userspace at least. This uses the 64-bit-style code for spinning up the cpus. Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
