* MIPS: MTI: Fix accesses to device registers on MIPS boardsChris Dearman2009-11-021-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | This fixes the remaining problems introduced by f197465384bf7ef1af184c2ed1a4e268911a91e3 (incorrect access length & byteswapping in bigendian mode) Signed-off-by: Chris Dearman <chris@mips.com> Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org>
* cpumask: arch_send_call_function_ipi_mask: mipsRusty Russell2009-09-241-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | We're weaning the core code off handing cpumask's around on-stack. This introduces arch_send_call_function_ipi_mask(), and by defining it, the old arch_send_call_function_ipi is defined by the core code. We also take the chance to wean the implementations off the obsolescent for_each_cpu_mask(): making send_ipi_mask take the pointer seemed the most natural way to ensure all implementations used for_each_cpu. | * timekeeping: Increase granularity of read_persistent_clock()Martin Schwidefsky2009-08-151-2/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The persistent clock of some architectures (e.g. s390) have a better granularity than seconds. To reduce the delta between the host clock and the guest clock in a virtualized system change the read_persistent_clock function to return a struct timespec. * [PATCH] MIPS: SMTC: Fix compile errorRaghu Gandham2009-08-031-1/+1
| | | | | | | | Commit fc03bc1715ca0ad4ccfe97aab16bcc9e7129c1a4 breaks when SMTC support is enabled on Malta. Signed-off-by: Raghu Gandham <raghu@mips.com> Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org>
* MIPS: CMP: Move gcmp_probe to before the SMP opsTim Anderson2009-07-032-5/+14
| | | | | | | | This is to move the gcmp_probe call to before the use of and selection of the smp_ops functions. This allows malta with 1004K to work. Signed-off-by: Tim Anderson <tanderson@mvista.com> Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org>
* MIPS: CMP: activate CMP supportTim Anderson2009-07-031-0/+10
| | | | | | | | | Most of the CMP support was added before, this mostly correct compile problems but adds a platform specific translation for the interrupt number based on cpu number. Signed-off-by: Tim Anderson <tanderson@mvista.com> Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org>
* MIPS: CMP: Extend IPI handling to CPU numberTim Anderson2009-07-031-38/+36
| | | | | | | | This takes the current IPI interrupt assignment from the fix number of 4 to the number of CPUs defined in the system. Signed-off-by: Tim Anderson <tanderson@mvista.com> Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org>

* MIPS: Build fix - include <linux/smp.h> into all smp_processor_id() users.Ralf Baechle2009-06-241-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | Some of the were relying into smp.h being dragged in by another header which of course is fragile. <asm/cpu-info.h> uses smp_processor_id() only in macros and including smp.h there leads to an include loop, so don't change cpu-info.h. * irq: change ->set_affinity() to return statusYinghai Lu2009-04-281-1/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | according to Ingo, change set_affinity() in irq_chip should return int, because that way we can handle failure cases in a much cleaner way, in the genirq layer. v2: fix two typos [ Impact: extend API ] Signed-off-by: Yinghai Lu <yinghai@kernel.org> Cc: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Cc: Suresh Siddha <suresh.b.siddha@intel.com> Cc: "Eric W. * MIPS: Malta: make a needlessly global integer variable staticDmitri Vorobiev2009-03-301-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | The variable `mips_revision_corid' is needlessly defined global in arch/mips/mti-malta/malta-init.c, and this patch makes it static. Build-tested with malta_defconfig. Signed-off-by: Dmitri Vorobiev <dmitri.vorobiev@movial.com> Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org>
* irq: update all arches for new irq_descMike Travis2009-01-121-2/+3
| | | | | | | | | Impact: cleanup, update to new cpumask API Irq_desc.affinity and irq_desc.pending_mask are now cpumask_var_t's so access to them should be using the new cpumask API. Signed-off-by: Mike Travis <travis@sgi.com>
* cpumask: make irq_set_affinity() take a const struct cpumaskRusty Russell2008-12-131-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Impact: change existing irq_chip API Not much point with gentle transition here: the struct irq_chip's setaffinity method signature needs to change. Fortunately, not widely used code, but hits a few architectures. Note: In irq_select_affinity() I save a temporary in by mangling irq_desc[irq].affinity directly. Ingo, does this break anything? * MIPS: Malta: Consolidate platform device code.Ralf Baechle2008-12-043-69/+50
| | | | | After adding the RTC platform device to malta-platform.c malta-mtd.c should get unified with the rest of the platform device code.
* MIPS: Malta: Add back RTC supportTiejun Chen2008-12-041-9/+47
| | | | | | | | | | | With the conversion of MIPS to RTC_LIB the old RTC driver CONFIG_RTC became unselectable. Fix by setting up a platform device. Also enable RTC_CLASS so system time gets set from RTC on kernel initialization. * MIPS: Malta: Fix include paths in malta-amon.cDavid Daney2008-11-201-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | On linux-queue, malta doesn't build after the include file relocation. This should fix it. There some occurrences of 'asm-mips' in the comments of quite a few files, but this is the only place I found it in any code. * [MIPS] SMTC: Fix SMTC dyntick support.Kevin D. Kissell2008-10-031-2/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | Rework of SMTC support to make it work with the new clock event system, allowing "tickless" operation, and to make it compatible with the use of the "wait_irqoff" idle loop. The new clocking scheme means that the previously optional IPI instant replay mechanism is now required, and has been made more robust. Signed-off-by: Kevin D.
