* vtime: Describe overriden functions in dedicated arch headersFrederic Weisbecker2013-08-141-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | If the arch overrides some generic vtime APIs, let it describe these on a dedicated and standalone header. This way it becomes convenient to include it in vtime generic headers without irrelevant stuff in such a low level header. * tracing,x86: Add a TSC trace_clockDavid Sharp2012-11-131-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In order to promote interoperability between userspace tracers and ftrace, add a trace_clock that reports raw TSC values which will then be recorded in the ring buffer. Userspace tracers that also record TSCs are then on exactly the same time base as the kernel and events can be unambiguously interlaced. Tested: Enabled a tracepoint and the "tsc" trace_clock and saw very large timestamp values. v2: Move arch-specific bits out of generic code. v3: Rename "x86-tsc", cleanups v7: Generic arch bits in Kbuild. * UAPI: Make arch/ia64/include/asm/kvm_para.h genericDavid Howells2012-10-181-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Make arch/ia64/include/asm/kvm_para.h generic since it's the same as the asm-generic version. This deals with the problem when ia64 is compiled with allmodconfig you get: In file included from include/uapi/linux/kvm_para.h:26:0, from include/linux/kvm_para.h:4, from kernel/watchdog.c:28: arch/ia64/include/asm/kvm_para.h:24:28: error: redefinition of 'kvm_arch_para_features' include/asm-generic/kvm_para.h:16:28: note: previous definition of 'kvm_arch_para_features' was here arch/ia64/include/asm/kvm_para.h:29:20: error: redefinition of 'kvm_check_and_clear_guest_paused' include/asm-generic/kvm_para.h:11:20: note: previous definition of 'kvm_check_and_clear_guest_paused' was here This does not happen for ia64 defconfig. * | asm-generic: Add default clkdev.hMark Brown2012-10-031-0/+1
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | Ease the deployment of clkdev by providing a default asm/clkdev.h for use if the arch does not have an include/asm/clkdev.h. Due to limitations in Kbuild we manually add clkdev.h to all architectures that don't have one rather than having the header appear by default. * [IA64] Move include/asm-ia64 to arch/ia64/include/asmTony Luck2008-08-011-0/+16
After moving the the include files there were a few clean-ups: 1) Some files used #include <asm-ia64/xyz.h>, changed to <asm/xyz.h> 2) Some comments alerted maintainers to look at various header files to make matching updates if certain code were to be changed. Updated these comments to use the new include paths. 3) Some header files mentioned their own names in initial comments. Just deleted these self references.
